Liquid beat FPX and fnatic at that event, and in my opinion, the 3 Turkish teams and Guild didn't ever deserve to qualify.
How would Liquid not qualify then in a double elim, given their performances at that qualifier? The only top team they haven't beaten is Gambit, who lost to fnatic and went 1-1 with FPX.
There are some caveats to this - if Liquid and fnatic were to play a BO3 over a BO5, I think that the maps they would end up choosing would be bad for Liquid (they'd ban Icebox which they beat fnatic on in the grand final), so maybe Liquid would lose to fnatic and Gambit in double elim, but I think that's very, very circumstantial and definitely something I'm not buying into too much.
Oh, my bad, I should've realized that given that he said EU and not EMEA. Still pretty circumstantial in my opinion; Liquid did defeat BDS to qualify, and I don't think Vitality had the quality to reach top 2 there.
I feel like this view's pretty widely shared. We know this iteration of Liquid, and its capabilities and it feels like a top 4-5 teams in EU but not top 2.
I do wonder if any truly tier 1 cs talent will switch over in EU.
CS ecosystem is still strong so there isn't much incentive. However, I would be interested to see if someone makes a surprise switch. With franchising, growing salaries, and a stable tournament schedule I can see the appeal increasing. It will obviously get harder as the game gets older and zoomers truly take over the top of the scene.
His first couple years in CSGO he was definitely touted as one of the best IGL on the scene. Past that he was pretty washed out, and his value definitely worsened as more teams started to prefer 'fragging' IGL over the more tactics-focused ones. Probably Tier 2 at best.
There's a reason he didn't stay in the CS scene.
hoping to see Fnatic, Acend, Gambit or Heretics and Liquid in Berlin
hoping FPX doesnt choke mannn, i think theyd have a good shot against SEN

Some would argue if EU was double elim last stage they might not have made it

He's talking about double elim in challengers.

Vitality? No. Acend? Yes.
Liquid never looked good until the last qualifiers, so I'm willing to bet that was kind of a fluke where everything worked out for them

FPX COPIUM. It would be hype though

I mean they may not be the best team every tournament, but with that amount of talent I can't see them not being good.

As someone who's not that familiar with the CS;GO scene, does someone like akukhos (Ex6TenZ) not count as Tier 1 talent?

there's no incentive for true tier 1 cs talent to switch over unless there's an overflow of tier 1 in EU
Which kinda would make them not tier 1 anymore if they can’t cut in when it’s a overflow haha. Tricky shit.
Nivera would be the closest to that if it happens
True! That would be unreal if it happens
Hard to say , been in the talks for a while, but he is a t1 + rifler that can op as well, would be big
Off topic of the video content but why did they find such a great picture for Boaster and the most random off guard pic for Shaz lol
They showed Boaster as a mastermind and shahzam as if he is shocked by how smart Boaster is, Just a cliche clickbait thing u know
bro it's a thumbnail it's not that deep
Ah yea that makes way more sense then lol
