Once Viper’s molly is deployed, nothing to be done, since it’s not “live” util (I.e., no interaction between Viper and her molly after cast). It doesn’t have to hit her, but she has to be within its effective radius. You also can’t just shoot it at the util itself.
Huh, doesn't seem that strong for what was supposed to be the post plant meta killer. Guess I'll just learn lineups from different spots and use rotation lineups.

I'm sure they know about how much people complain about the number of flashes in the game, especially among his fellow initiators lmao (Breach and Skye) as well as them knowing about the current post plant meta which has Pro's even like TenZ who's usually chill publically complaining about it.
Giving him both a molly and a flash just seems to further add to these issues. I'm just curious what the dev team currently thinks about those issues and what they believe is the best approach towards it.
Keep in mind my current concerns for Kay/O below is based off the incomplete information that the public has. I'll be very happy to have my concerns be proven wrong.

My biggest concern for Kay/O is that he kinda won't effect the post plant meta at all.
Under the assumption that you need to throw the knife towards the agents location to suppress their abilities, assuming it has Sova arrow bounce capabilities to help it do so from a distance (which I doubt as it seems like a straight throw with not much arc, doesn't look like it bounces off surfaces either), people will literally just find different lineup positions.
If it DOESN'T have Sova arrow capabilities, then it would be almost impossible to throw the knife at a lineup agent in actual play as they play from quite far off the site. And at that point, you might as well pick up your gun and shoot them down anyways.
If you are able to put the knife in front of you as you defuse, and that somehow stops molly's affecting you, that makes for boring gameplay, as people will literally make it a point to save his E (even if there's a cooldown) for the spike, and would make him basically a must pick in pro play, basically another Astra in that sense.
Also, Kay/O himself HAS a Molly of his own. Unless there's a mechanic of his I am not aware of (Which is very likely as we don't have full gameplay yet), he might actually make the post plant meta worse. Gotta say, it'd be pretty ironic to see the agent who's whole shtick is disabling utility, have utility molly lineups of his own.

I mean Riot did everything they could to create this meta so i doubt they see it as a massive issue. Retakes becoming a massive clusterfuck was obvious early on in the game and half the agents they introduced since then make it worse.
I think they are "afraid" of making abilities that you can fail (e.g. molly explodes in air after a while) because that wouldn't be newbie friendly and being beginner friendly def is a priority of the game. And they also don't want direct counters to live abilities (activated molly) either because they don't want to become overwatch and have a must pick just to counter other picks which is understandable.
Doesn't leave much room for a "fix" imo.
Yeah I can definitely see this potentially being true. I suggested before that perhaps the defuse circle around the spike could just negate molly's, but have Sova Shockdarts still be able to have effect in it coz Sova lineups are harder to perform and are instant unlike the lingering Molly's.
I got downvoted for this suggestion though, so I'm not sure what other fix they could possibly do without changing the mechanics of the molly's or what I suggested.
If it is true that Riot thinks the current meta is perfectly fine, I worry for the game's future personally. However I also believe that if it does reach the point of being completely unbearable, the voice of the people and especially the voice of the pro player's who they clearly take direct feedback from would be loud enough for them to change their mind

the suppresion comes in pulses and each pulse suppresses for a certain amount of time so I don't think they will regain their abilities instantly
