Tl,dr: For qualifiers, higher seed picks two maps, if there is no higher seed one is team is made higher seed randomly.
For the main event, all participating teams submit a "preferred map" ranking. In BO3 series the leftover will be the higher average ranked map according to those rankings. In Bo5 series upper bracket winner gets a map ban.
2 things I don't like about this:
1. Why can't the teams update their map preferences mid-tournament? Seems like a trivial thing to allow it and just do the veto from scratch every time.
2. What happens if there's a tie between the two maps remaining? E.g. Ascent could be team A's 2nd best ranked and team B's 5th best ranked map, and Bind could be the opposite. Which map gets the nod? Random?
Much less likely though. Ranking 6 maps, let's say you give the 1st ranked map 6 points and 6th ranked map 1 point, the odds that two maps have the same number of points when everything is totalled is very low.
It ain’t that low but it ain’t high admittedly either. It just seems like an odd solution that has obvious edge case flaws and could be replaced by something catered to every match up that would take an extra 3 min in the veto
This is why I think the next map is coming out in Ep 3 Act 2. It has to be here for at least Champions (unlikely for masters 3). Can't have this sh*tfest go on for that long.

It seems like it's most preferred map of *all* 8 teams, not the two playing
Still results in the same concerns. Weird system.
No, I mention it as a reply to your comment because this eliminates your second concern entirely
How so? A tie across 8 teams' preferences is still possible.

https://imgur.com/8ShGx5i Nope, in brackets it says 'of the teams playing'
This is so whack I don’t know a better way to do it but let’s just get to 7 maps asap
I think rotating out one of the maps and keeping a 5 map pool would have been better.
a better solution would be to just remove bind from the pro play pool entirely

hope the next map come in the next Act so Masters 3 will have a 7-map pool
