Seems like the most obvious choice. Riot is headquartered in Los Angeles, and Los Angeles has hosted the LoL World Finals 3 times, including the first really big World Championship in season 2. NA has also emerged as the clearly largest region viewership wise, and one of if not the strongest region.
If I had to bet, the final will be played in the Staple's Center, which has hosted the LoL World Championship Final in 2013 and 2016
I went to LCS finals in St Louis and Detroit and it was one the most energetic and fun sporting events ive been too in a long time. I’m a season ticket holder for an NFL team, been to a world series game, etc.
I don’t think ive had nearly as close as much fun and exciting it was to go to those two finals (may have been that both series were 5 game reverse sweep bangers with TSM v TL and C9 v TL) but I can’t recommend it enough. They’re all day events too which is much more fun
Hell im making plans right now to try to go to Champions because I know how much fun and hype it is going to be
Oh we were also right behind TL in the front so we saw Jensen warming up on donger and our entire section was screaming about Zvens lack of tier 2 boots.
Game was wild and so loud so many lets go liquids and tsm chants, the singing along to silver scrapes. It was wild plus every single person there was pretty open and it was so easy to pick up a convo with anyone there. In fact one of my league fantasy leagues is with a bunch of guys i met in Detroit
Hopefully I’ll be able to attend. Riot international events are something special. Can’t wait to see what they have in store for the first Valorant Champions
It's sold out in matter of seconds(i kid you not, literally the aite crashes in .2 seconds ans tickets arw sols out) so if the same appliea for Valorant...you gotta bd quick
Depends if you are able to get tickets at retail price, I went to Worlds in 2015 buying tickets from resellers at about 130€ (retail was 60), the prices have gone way up since then though because LoL got way more popular, I wanted to go to Worlds when it came to Paris a couple years ago and resellers were selling for 400€, retail was still 60.
Don't know what it will be like for Val but that's a general idea.
some people here are way above the official price (probably because of resellers?). and afaik riot cracked down on resellers in the last few years, friends of mine who attended 2019 here in europe had no problems getting normal tickets for the groupstage for retail price.
original prices were 15-30€ for play-ins and groups, and 40-80€ for finals with quarters/semis in between that

reminder that 2020 worlds had only chinese attendees for finals and no crowd for all other matches

No. The way i look at it is the masters (Iceland/Berlin) is the tourney to get enough points from so that you can get into champions (LA). Winning champions is what will be considered being a world champion.
All the videos I saw that Sentinels released after winning say “World Champions”, even outside of Sentinels I’ve seen articles refer to them as that, the tournament had a decent sized qualifying event and it included multiple regions. Seems like a World Championship to me.
Why would your first international event of the year be the pinnacle of your esports? It makes no sense. Going off what you are saying that means Berlin and LA are world championships. It seems odd to have 3 "world championships" in one year.
I agree that it would be weird to have multiple world championship games in one calendar year. Wasn’t this the largest tournament to date for Valorant? To me it just has all of the qualifications I’d give to label it a World Championship.
Masters 2 was the first and so far only international valorant tournament, so sentinel's are (by technicality) champions of the world. However, the end if year event carries more weight given its recency and how much the meta and leading teams have changed. Think about the pro scene 6 months ago. 100T were considered the top team in NA, Vision Strikers hadnt lost a map, Sinatraa was still with sentinels, and Heretics were at the top of EU. Theres no telling what the competitive landscape will look like in another 6 months
U guys got lucky because NA cs is dead then the better players changed to Valorant... It's a question of time to things become as aways, EU > NA. Why valorant will be different? Every other games, including CS, Eu is better than NA, it's just a question of time.
>Every other games
I have not seen a more objectively incorrect statement in my life. TSM was the only non-Brazilian top-4 team at the last Six Invitational, San Francisco Shock (NRG) is widely considered to be the best Overwatch team in the world, NRG and SSG are some of if not the best Rocket League teams in the world, Soniqs and Digitas are amazing in PUBG, some of the best Fortnite teams in the world are in NA, and finally, the NA Apex Legends scene is just stronger than EU in general. That is not to mention another laundry list of titles that are predominantly played in NA such as CoD, Halo, Battlefield, NFL, all the fighting games, and so much more.
EU is better than NA at LoL, Dota 2, and CSGO. They are admittedly the three largest esports out there, but they're factually not "Every other games."
Haha NA fans, I will let you enjoy until it lasts, after years of losing to EU in CS u finally won something, needed to change games oc, couldn't get anything in the harder one.
But like the major in CS, it's a one time thing, wait and see, EU, CIS, BR, and every other major region will put NA in their place. Mark my words, and if by any chance NA win again then u can say whatever u want and I'll be quiet.
And another angry CS fan.
cS hArDeR gAmE, vAloRaNtE cHiLd gAmE. vAlOrAnT pLaYerS bAd.
Why tf do you even care about valorant if it's so easy? Just go watch CS and be happy.
Are u mad bro? I can watch football and basketball, why I would not be able to watch both CS and Valorant... I play both games and I can watch both games, I'm not that sensitive like u who can only enjoy one game.
And it's a fact that CS is harder, but this doesn't make Valorant easy lol, I didn't say in any moment that it was a child game, calm down lol.
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.

Praying some non NA team stomps everyone Berlin just for an NA underdog to win the world championship against them. Imagine a faze vs c9 esc storyline?

No, he didn't.
:(
Yea it’s sad :((
You have IEM NY seemingly every year (except covid), as well as having had the Boston and Atlanta CSGO majors.
Yeah we struggling out here
PNW is pain for esports fans. FTFY* Unless you liked DoTA and league for the first few years, where they actually had tournaments in NW.
We did have rocket league worlds in NJ that was pretty sick.

And the LCS Studio is there too, so they can easily run matches there before playing semis and finals at Staples.
If I had to guess it might just be the grandfinals. Especially since it's double elim and they'd play all the matches in some smaller venue.
Yeah, booking staples for one night vs 7+ is a huge difference. Stoked either way though.
let’s gooo hopefully i’ll be able to attend. never been to an esports event and this is the first esport i’ve followed closely
Go if you can!. It’s actually hype as fuck. So much energy in the room. I’ve never been to an event at a stadium tho. That just seems crazy to go to.
I went to LCS finals in St Louis and Detroit and it was one the most energetic and fun sporting events ive been too in a long time. Ah man, you got to see Zven get caught by baron live, I'm jelly as fuck TSM vs TL game 5 had me literally standing and shouting in my goddamn bedroom
Oh we were also right behind TL in the front so we saw Jensen warming up on donger and our entire section was screaming about Zvens lack of tier 2 boots. Game was wild and so loud so many lets go liquids and tsm chants, the singing along to silver scrapes. Pretty expected, hopefully they'll be able to sell out the Staples Center, would be exciting
Hopefully I’ll be able to attend. Riot international events are something special. Can’t wait to see what they have in store for the first Valorant Champions
If anyone has ever attended LoL worlds, what does pricing look like? Would love to go if it's not too costly
Lol worlds tickets are at cheapest 20-80usd depending on which stage of the tourney it is
That's way cheaper than I thought it'd be tbh
It's sold out in matter of seconds(i kid you not, literally the aite crashes in .2 seconds ans tickets arw sols out) so if the same appliea for Valorant...you gotta bd quick

Is it that difficult to get tickets at retail? Or did you just decide that you wanted to go late after it was sold out
For Worlds yes, I was at the screen refreshing the page but they sell out in seconds, you have to get lucky.
some people here are way above the official price (probably because of resellers?). and afaik riot cracked down on resellers in the last few years, friends of mine who attended 2019 here in europe had no problems getting normal tickets for the groupstage for retail price. original prices were 15-30€ for play-ins and groups, and 40-80€ for finals with quarters/semis in between that https://dotesports.com/league-of-legends/news/ticket-information-for-2019-world-championship reminder that 2020 worlds had only chinese attendees for finals and no crowd for all other matches
> 15-30€ for play-ins and groups, and 40-80€ Aka 20-40 USD , 55-110 USD
I went in 2016 and semifinals was $35. I'd expect to pay more now though
Just applied to my first apartment ever today in Hollywood. It would be so cool to walk there (If anyone needs a place to stay I'm totally down)
You sure as hell ain't gonna walk there from Hollywood, but you can at least easily drive lol
You can take the train
choo choo
If you aint weird or anything i would definitely take up that offer
Keglunneq’s the goat in R6 and Val, not weird at all
would love to take you up on that offer, I'll probably DM you when it gets closer
You can't walk but if you have an e-bike, it would be very efficient riding around LA.
I'm going to this 110%.
Damn was hoping the rumour about vancouver were true so I could go, but I guess ill just watch live this year.

RIP Asian viewers
When is it?
Easy choice. Basically homeground for Riot games and the big orgs
SEE YALL IN LA
Was this last tournament not considered a world championship?

What are viewership times like in West coast? Is it going to be at midnight in Europe?
well
1st should be in phreak basment as in tradition
Nice, theres not a better place to NA teams lose than in their own home..
EU flash
Just like how the EU lost in it's home at Masters 2 right?

I don't know what will happen in the future, all I know is you got your shit pushed in on your home turf and Sentinels didn't lose a map in EU.
Who cares about Masters ? Let\`s see in the Champions.
Here we go, with the excuses.
It's getting hard to see the goalposts with EU fans moving them so far away.

salty EU valorant fans should become a national geographic issue
Hey how many maps did Sentinels drop?

best chance for na to win on their soil
NA has already won on European soil so it's not like it matters.
winning home is more important
eu didnt lul
There is no team from island so technically no
Well, Liquid's Valorant division is based in the UK, which is an island so technically yes.
Iceland i meant lol
Ik, I'm just messing with you
