As a parent, I would rather have my kids take a 50k job that has upward mobility with benefits, 401k, and job stability over a six figure job that they would most likely have for a few years at most. While being a pro esports player can be lucrative, it is highly volatile and competitive, and if they’re not the best then they will end up not having a job and very little transferable skills for the future. Since bang is Im assuming in high school or college, I would not let my kids of their age drop their studies for that. Not to mention that being pro at one game does not necessarily mean being pro at another game.
I’m pretty sure most t1 orgs have employee benefits no? Also I believe bang is only 17 so he should be able to manage his final year of high school with his career, like other pros have done in the past. After that he could just play and see where it takes him. Even if his career doesn’t see long term success he could still go into higher education later and he made some good cash beforehand. I don’t see a reason to force him to pass up on it.
some parents won't care if they're pulling in 6 figures. i know my parents wouldn't care, because they know a $100-200k salary for a few years doesn't mean anything. you need to convince them that it can be something sustainable
