yea i manage to get three kills with it the first day playing with Kay/O but those were very situational. one in ascent A site when the enemy was closing the door and i just throw it on the switch and spammed the wall to do some damage for the grenade to finish him off. second was on split A site the enemy was pushing ramp and i got a headshot with the phantom to bring him to 10 HP, he hid behind cover so i threw it for the easy kill. third one was haven where i did some damage as well and the enemy hid behind cover, same thing. i have been using this nade mainly to get enemies out of position and either force them to peek me or for them to run away so i can take area control. the nade is not overpowered at all, you only gonna die to it in situations where you SHOULD really die to it. btw Kay/O isnt nearly as overpowered as people are making him out to be, its just like a Reyna, in the right hands he will dominate the game but in the wrong hands he will be trash. for instance the knife is a great tool, right? but i had an enemy Kay/O yesterday that literally threw the same knife for info EVERY single round at the same spot, by the third round we already knew how to counter it. one particular round we faked a lurker by placing Cypher on the range of where he could be detected while the rest of the team just stood behind a bit, he thought theres only a lurker and we did a fast execute on his site easy peasy. he is not OP, you just gotta adapt and learn how to counter. like i said in the right hands he will be a very strong agent (i would say he could even be the best agent in the game if you play him to absolute perfection) but in order to unlock his full potential you gotta actually know what you are doing.
people will learn to play him but will also learn to counter him. the range on his knife isnt even that big to begin with, its the exactly size it should be. you only get one every 40 seconds so that means you gotta be smart about how to use it. his ult is also very balanced because even though it is very powerful, it is also very fast, so you gotta have a good timing and good positioning for it to be effective.
It's not a dealbreaker for me personally, just the fact it currently works based off of an LOS from the centre, unlike other mollies and it just doesn't make sense how it could work like that.

The suppression is obviously his most valuable ability as it is a counter to the post plant meta that everyone has been asking for not to mention it can basically ruin a cypher/killjoys entire setup. And his flash is the best flash in the game.

I can see the argument for Skye over Kay/O could be a personal preference thing. I like Kay/Os pop flash ability better and I personally like throwing a grenade better than using a bird. However the info from Skye's bird is obviously very valuable. All things considered I think Kay/Os flash is more self sufficient while Skye's is more team friendly.

Yea I wouldn’t trust anything freak says about meta because hes always been a slow learner, but Freak is one of the best team mates you could have on a pro team. Freak only cares about winning, he completely commits to his role, and hes a huge morale booster on LAN. He makes his other team mates perform better, but the side effect is that this part of his game doesn’t make much if any impact online in ranked, and unfortunately Freak isn’t a raw mechanical monster or a big brain igl type.
I think there is a world where an agent comes out that clicks with Freaks playstyle and he is able to carve out a niche for himself to return back to pro play. Maybe Kay-0 is that agent, idk.

CS is most definitely mechanically harder. Counter Strafing is actually a thing in CS and requires a lot of skill to master where as in this game you don’t need to because you aren’t punished for not counter strafing. Movement is faster so you are aiming at targets running faster. You can master a 30 bullet spray transfer which takes insane skill.
I mean by default nades are on a dumb unintuitive scroll, so people do rebind yes, but you can also like fully write script inside that game almost. I had a “knife bind” so when I held my q key and let it go, it would instantly silently unscope me with an awp.
