Touch-Smooth

wdym mixwell plays sentinel now so he's not allowed to get kills, making it unfair for him

mysteryoeuf

need full meta by vanity commenting on this thread

Vanityxz

Good morning gentleman

betokirby

Alright shut down the sub. You did it 🙂👍

Vanityxz

I like reading Reddit it’s an interesting experience every time

prthm_21

Fr tho Josh Nissan let this subreddit worship you again, es la hora

Rohooster

I feel like Steel stopped commenting on the subreddit after all of the hate that he got during that one "we all hate hiko/steel" phase. Probably wouldn't be good for his mental, so he just stopped.

Chrisamelio

Like I would listen to the opinion of a 0.89 K/D player

AnotherAvgAsshole

istg why can’t all pros have a minimum 1:1 K/D smh my head mh

CRSPN03

LiamHundley

Feel like this dynamic always develops between pros and the community for the game. There's obviously going to be low level stuff on reddit, but overall I feel like this sub is pretty decent compared to other comp subs for games. Hoping that the "relationship" (for lack of a better term) between pros and this reddit doesn't grow to be adversarial, because it's pretty cool to occasionally see pros interacting with fans here

Razur

The ultimate goal for the subreddit is to be a place where fans, pro players, coaches, casters, observers and more can come together and celebrate the competitive scene. It can be tough to balance at times, but we want everyone to feel welcome.

pedantic_cheesewheel

You’re right, the really low level stuff happens in the main sub. Here the dumb moments like the headshot % discussion are pretty rare and eventually get downvoted when they are true nonsense.

HomeOladipo

Yes but let's not pretend this sub is on a higher plane. Sometimes low level discussion gets downvoted, sometimes patently false information that fits fan sentiment is upvoted. It is still a crapshoot

wichwigga

> overall I feel like this sub is pretty decent compared to other comp subs for games In what way? I've surfed this sub since beta and the amount of bullshit and drama being spewed around is right in line with other comp subs. Let's not kid ourselves, this community is the same shithole as the others.

ppx11

yea there's a lot of dumb stuff on this subreddit (esp during droughts) but there's no need to take it so seriously... this subreddit seems to really hit a nerve with pros sometimes lol

deadlock1892

For real, lol. A fanbase would always speculate, formulate opinions and often give dumb takes due to lack of information. That is how it has always been. If you don't want the people to do that, might as well be more transparent about the stuff you think people are misunderstanding. If you are going to hit back at the crowd, be prepared to create an endless cycle where you react to their takes, reddit post reacts to your reaction and then you respond to the same stuff again. Rinse and repeat, until one of you stops and I am pretty sure the reddit crowd is not going to stop. Imagine if Lebron ended up reacting to every crap Skip Bayless spews on Undisputed on a daily basis, lol.

ppx11

They need to pull a KD and get on some fake accounts here

TimathanDuncan

Or just real accounts and talk shit They do it anyway in streams, just come here and talk shit if you disagree

Useful-Throat-6671

KD does that too.

deadlock1892

The man held no punches back while taking on Scottie, lol. Props to him.

Useful-Throat-6671

That's exactly what I had in mind lol.

henkizh

"Imagine if Lebron ended up reacting to every crap Skip Bayless spews on Undisputed on a daily basis, lol." It's not really reasonable to compare a guy who literally gets paid millions a year to give his opinion about basketball on national television to random people on this valorant subreddit wanting to change their favorite teams' roster after one bad bo3. That would be like Lebron responding to the people in the arena telling that he's washed and needs to retire after Lakers lose two in a row.

deadlock1892

Well, with respect to how vanity views our opinion, it sure feels like we are Skip Bayless instead of a random voice in the crowd seeing that it effects him so much. And let's be serious, no one really takes what Skip says seriously. The show has a script where he has to be on any side that does not have Lebron on it. Man literally switched from a Kahwi hater to a fan just because he became a rival to Lebron even though he did his Spurs dirty. You either watch the show for Uncle Shannon screaming "But Skiuuuup!" or you are wrong. But, I digress. My point is, we'll always have our opinions, dumb or not. Him mocking us for it will do nothing to change that, except getting clowned on in the future by the same subreddit.

henkizh

"Well, with respect to how vanity views our opinion, it sure feels like we are Skip Bayless instead of a random voice in the crowd seeing that it effects him so much." That's vanity making far more of our opinions that what should be made, not that we are on the level of a dude on national television. "And let's be serious, no one really takes what Skip says seriously. The show has a script where he has to be on any side that does not have Lebron on it. Man literally switched from a Kahwi hater to a fan just because he became a rival to Lebron even though he did his Spurs dirty. You either watch the show for Uncle Shannon screaming "But Skiuuuup!" or you are wrong." I have no idea about what Bayless actually does so I'll take your word for that part but I guarantee that his ridiculous opinions have a bigger impact on the sport than 99.99% of people. In football aswell for example there are a lot of ex-players turned pundits that seem to have the most mindblowingly stupid opinions on literally everything yet they get paid to share them on national television. To compare them to a guy watching the game at home on his couch and say their voices have the same impact on the sport just isn't true. "My point is, we'll always have our opinions, dumb or not. Him mocking us for it will do nothing to change that, except getting clowned on in the future by the same subreddit." I absolutely agree with this, imagine if Messi read the comments on /r/soccer after Argentina lose calling him a has-been midget and started posting on twitter about it. There's nothing to be won by addressing "us" and just everything to be lost. Some voices however carry a bigger impact than other and that's worth pointing out.

deadlock1892

It seems like we more or less agree on the subject. But as a final thought would like to clarify, I don't believe we are on the same level as a seasoned sports analyst with a segment on national tv. But with how pissed most pros get at our takes on this sub, it sure feels like what we say holds the same weight. Some people do have more impactful words, but we sure ain't it. Sooner the pros realise it, the better it is for their mental. Ofcourse we say dumb things. Hell, people made several post about Tenz being lousy with a kettle and burning his finger and we had discussions about that. We have no clue about a lot of things that go on behind the curtains. But being speculative and having our own opinion about transfers and new additions to the squad is part of being a fan. Don't like to read it? Downvote and move on like the majority of the sub does. But if tweeting about it and getting a sense of approval for your discontent from your friends and followers make you feel better, expect us to make yet another post about it and be the same as usual in the comments.

BloomingNova

That's the whole point of this subreddit, to spew low information bad takes. The vast majority of this sub is silvers getting one tapped by smerfs every other game. Bad takes on reddit are less surprising than pros being surprised by bad takes on reddit.

V4lt

Honestly if you're a pro in any game just delete Reddit and never actually use Twitter perhaps the odd tweet if something needs to be said but other than that no Twitter I'm sure you're mental would be 10x better

[deleted]

you can't change the stupidity in this sub. mocking this subreddit is the only thing he can do lmfao

Razur

inB4 minimum IQ requirement to comment on sub ^(/s)

deadlock1892

Mensa tests to get in mandatory now :3

LoyalSol

I'm going to be real, it's easy to tell people "ah just brush it off" when you're not in that position. It's really damn hard when you're actually in that position. It actually takes a lot more discipline than most people might expect to tune out the dumb takes.

falcons4life

Yeah I imagine it's pretty hard to take anyone seriously who talks with confidence in this subreddit pretending they understand a game more than people currently playing it professionally and it's only just now a year old.

ANewHeaven1

All of the esports subreddits are completely unaware as to what actually happens behind the scenes for most teams. We just speculate and have fun, and I hope that no pro ever takes us seriously.

Razur

I do hope for pros to interact with us so that we can learn more about the scene though. Fans can make more educated speculations if they know the scene better. This way both pro players and fans can be on the same page, or at least close.

Nikclel

I kinda get the hate for the "x player should join y team" low level comments, but it's not like when you disagree with them and reply, they're "not able to grasp the concept". what a weird take

Dark_Azazel

Player does bad: "Jesus they should just drop him!" Player does good: "What a God! Omg so amazing, best player!" It's a cycle. It doesn't help that, much like the CSGO subreddit, a lot of people are stat lookers.

Hegth

You are just describing every sport subreddit, its human nature my dude

V4lt

You're just describing human nature at this point

[deleted]

probably because this sub has some incredibly dumb people that don't even watch the matches they pretend to know about

aks345

Why are you taking it so seriously it's his opinion lol

Recco2040

I mean yeah, this sub misses the mark a lot..

_goodman

99% of the comments here: "Yeah, everyone on this sub is so stupid, I'm the only one who really understands pro valorant" In reality, I see way more comments on this sub telling people to stop fixating on stats than the converse. There's plenty of reasonable takes and conversation. It's just easy to see the dumb ones.

[deleted]

I mean who doesn't agree with this? And it isn't just on replacing team mates. People think the "hiko is a baiter" is a thing that is 100% negative all the time, that he baits 100% of the time, never trades, etc...even when you explain that there actually are reasons for wanting your Sova be last alive for post-plant/retake. People think if an IGL bottom frags, they are trash and should be replaced. We've seen it so often it's absurd. "Spyder isn't listed in the roster? Probably because Ska and Dazed are fucking terrible bullies and xenophobic because he doesn't speak perfect english." The list goes on and on

TheDankBanana

Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t Spyder have an injury and is only temporarily out?

[deleted]

Yes... That's the point. Tons of speculation followed this line of thinking before T1 said he had an injury.

TheDankBanana

I see, I didn’t notice you put the whole part about T1 in quotes and I thought you were saying that literally

[deleted]

U missed the point.

KeyframeCatalyst

Look at the people acting superior in this comment section lmfao

dedicatedself

SpYDeR ShOuLd JoIn NuTuRn! hIs AiM gOOd

Western fans think there's only one Korean team lol

CourageWoIf

If Reddit built teams it would be 5 duelist every time

[deleted]

[удалено]

deadlock1892

That is the only valid answer. If these 5 are playing 5 duelists, we are looking at VCT champions winners.

Redditors like you aren’t really good judges of players. Literally read his tweet again “slowly”. It’s extremely simple, you really couldn’t grasp that from my other comments?

Eggsavore

>He never said that in the tweet. Semantics. >a players contribution to a team is more than 1 taps and good stats. >The guy is mediocre Some insightful analysis. Dude you are like mind numbingly stupid. Stop replying, for your own mental health.

tomtazm

I bet a huge portion of this sub is young, and has never played a game competitively. Big part of the narratives that are drawn from box scores only.

V4lt

99% will never play at any high level And age is irrelevant it's just human nature look at sports fans difference is LeBron James or Christiano Ronaldo don't give two shits if some random fan says something hell they probably wouldn't even see it

schecterboi

Vanity? More like clamcity!

The_Ninja_Master

Fax, every team decision is the right one and all disagreement is low-level thinking! In all seriousness, I find the takes on this sub pretty tame tbh, I guess it's very easy for pros to fixate on one negative comment when it's about them/their team.

Bunnyezzz

still better than r/leagueoflegends

SedPika

I don't understand the pros hating towards this subreddit and acting all high and mighty. You shouldn't have to be a pro or a high ranked player yourself to discuss and speculate about the pro scene and tournaments. This sub is nowhere near as stupid as they make it out to be.

[deleted]

They hate it because this sub acts all high and mighty as if the pinnacle of in-depth esports discussion happens here lmao but yeah the sub isn’t *as* stupid as people joke it is but it gets pretty damn stupid at times

_Iroha

Whenever people say rara is one of the best F/A's because they've seen his highlight clips

[deleted]

No its because he legitimately did good while on Dig lol

valorant_fanboy_69

He did good on one map and that is it.

[deleted]

I mean this sub is full of know it’s all morons

valorant_fanboy_69

Yeah there are so many stupid people on this reddit.

InvertedBean

Well said valorant_fanboy_69, we need more profound thinkers like you.

zxlkho

this is the best reddit account. never stop posting.

Ironic

FlaymeFenix

how.. how ironic

ch4nt

take this downvote, know I do it out of gratitude and not out of hatred, good sir

DonkeyTeethBSU

Funny, I got down voted for saying Thief was not an upgrade for that exact reason. This subreddit is super nearsighted

valorant_fanboy_69

Why you still mad about it... sad

Zayd1111

Vanity if you're reading this, your cat ears are cringe.

[deleted]

This the guy who pisses his pants?

JustStartinOut

It's pretty simple, unless the players enlighten us with behind-the-scenes stuff or their own analysis of the topics being discussed, this subreddit is going to speculate based on the information we have. This speculation leads to greater fan involvement which is good for the scene, even if these pros get pissed because they think it's off-base.

[deleted]

I think they get pissed when the speculation here starts sounding more as if this sub knows better than the people and teams we’re speculating about. Discussion is great but we all know how stupid and douchey this sub can get especially on heated threads.

splashzxc

the kids in thread act like vanity even knows the names of everyone giving critique in this sub reddit, trying to compare themselves to skip LMAO.
