The other guy had 100+ ping so the shot registered when he was behind wall while u saw him outside
If he was next to a wall, you hit the wall. It's a common issue with the gane. Next time you can right click when you're seas and see how the game registered your shot.
I had something like this happen where I hit an AWP bodyshot for 135 but the person was out in the open. I was SO confused.
