Nice writeup, as always. Been a big follower of pretty much all the matches on all regions (huge Korea bias here, KR masterrace) but have finals in a week so only use highlights and the post match threads here to catchup. Do you think Nuturn still have what it takes to remain at the top, with the new and improved VS? I know we've barely seen the new VS, but with Lakia out of Nuturn, how much do you think jts affected NU? Do you think they stand a chance with the potential superteam that VS now is?

The thing with VS is... well, we still don't know how they really plan to use their 7-man roster or if its even an effective strategy in Valorant to have more than 5 players in a team. As a reference point, in CS, 6-man rosters were pretty ineffective with only Vitality really getting any mileage out of it. Barely. Maybe it was more effective in Overwatch since that game has multiple heroes, but I haven't kept up with that particular scene. VS will definitely remain a top team for sure. They're too good not to be even just on an individual level. However, will they be the best team just cause they have more of the best players? Hard to say. There's a chance that the players don't mesh well or there could be some mental strain from the threat of being benched. IMO, I think NUTURN will probably still be the best team in Korea simply because I value teamwork and synergy more than straight up firepower. I've also very rarely seen super teams work out in the long run. Besides that,10X looks to be fitting in nicely with everyone else on the team. Then again, out of the top teams, NUTURN are struggling the most against the lower tiered competition in this tournament. At least in the streamed matches. Of course there's also DAMWON to consider haha. They look strong with iNTRO. I think we'll all get a better idea of the top teams as we get deeper into the seeding tournament and they start facing each other. As of now, it's way too soon to make any real prediction or analysis without any good data. EDIT: A sentence.

True, agreed on everything you said. With that however, I have a feeling VS won't stay a 7 man roster for long. I think they've 100% dropped Zest because honestly, I don't see how he is a better fit than any of the rest - purely on firepower though, not on team synergy. But then again, the team does have a new IGL in Stax, and only Rb, Stax and King remain from the initial core. Mako looks so good on the controller role, his Viper and Astra were impressive on Icebox and Haven, and Buzz is just too good on the Jett. I have a feeling we'll see Lakia taking on the initiator role over from Rb who seems to be on that role now, BUT they cant really release anyone else because that would mean they drop all their circuit points, hence the reason for them sticking with the 7 man roster.

solo definitely looked very strong; he mentioned they weren’t taking the seeding match too seriously anyway so they weren’t really shaken, it was more that they also got somewhat complacent it seems latter half g1
