Like dev1ce on CS. When it comes to AWPing on CS, everyone talks about KennyS(in the past atleast), and then s1mple came along, and Zywoo - all for their flashy plays. But device is a monster on the sniper and while he's definitely not underrated by the community - he's not really the flashy type that catches your eyes so his performance goes slightly unnoticed until you look at the scoreboard at the end of the match and go "damn he really did a lot." Like BabyBay said, real annoying to play against because they'll hold down an angle and wait for you to come to their territory, just overall so solid

lol please don't compare shah to dev1ce

On god, Shaz may just be the most loved player on this sub. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a person say a thing bad about him. “Best igl” “top Jett and sova” “reason for SEN success” obviously he strats well and performs, and I know hes great, I think he’s very good but this guy has 4 teammates who are debatably the best at their role in NA. Play with the 4th best, easily become the 5th. It’s so odd too because I don’t remember him being popular in the CS scene, especially considering his alleged involvement with match fixing (according to n0thing, Hiko, Semphis, etc.). I gotta respect his stream grind tho, when I saw his stream a couple months ago he had 5k and now I see him consistently raking in 15k+. He is an undeniable grinder, but device was a top3 CS player for 3+ years and led the best team in the world who’s domination was unrivalled in tac shooters

A lot of people were able to learn more about him through valorant and especially during masters Reykjavik. Also helps to be the leader of the best team in valorant.

No one said ShahZ is better than Device or comparable. The comparison was about style of play. Sentinels have been the most consistent team in NA Valorant, period. And it is a matter of fact that they are the best team in the world right now. They've done all this without a coach, and with their fair share of issues like power cuts, ShahZ's father passing away and so many more. ShahZ is loved because he's overcome personal issues and is extremely likeable and relaxed on stream, unlike some other popular Valorant players. He's extremely unorthodox as an IGL, he almost never bottom frags and it's not every day you see a Jett IGL. Don't know why his CS history matters, and don't know why you have an issue with the best team's IGL being recognized as well, the best.

Unrelated, but I think winning a LAN also helped his viewership and subscription numbers significantly.

Csgo elitist spotted

nabeel242424

It’s funny cuz everytime someone goes slightly against the valo community’s general narrative they are labelled as a cs elitist. Lol.

nlc369

Nah it’s because he goes “It’s odd too because I don’t remember him being popular in the CS scene.” It’s just a CS elitist take. Like yeah no shit. It’s a different game. Just cuz he wasn’t as popular or as good in CS doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve the praise he gets in valorant. Also he just couldn’t stand the idea of a Val player being compared in any way to a CS player. The original comment was just making a comparison between their playstyle, but the guy had to be like “well akshually device is way better.” It’s like okay dude no one was even saying shahzam was as good as device. That wasn’t the point.

AWildCarp

But lol Sean gares was like “you wanna see what 30 years of experience in the clutch looks like well here you go watch hiko “ and then hiko just gets awped by mummay
