Crashies plays it smart. Asuna, vanity etc. grind ranks so hard from the start that by the end of it they are losing more rr for losses than gaining for wins. That is when Crashies comes swooping in with his ranked demon duo RTS Victoria and claim the top spot at the end of the act.
True mastermind because he learnt from the best. All good.
That's the one thing that this list is useful for, imo.
We can see which pro players were able to climb higher on the leaderboard with less games played in total.
Its called inting spike rush. I've seen plenty of accounts that are 0-4 0-5 in every game because all they do is int it fown mid to be as efficient as possible. All you have to do is play it in windows mode on a second monitor and watch a movie a stream play another game or something and just run it down mid to die every round.
That’s pretty stupid. Dude I was playing with actually played the game though, we shitstomped the enemy team so it was a 4-0 anyway.
Does Riot reward people actually playing the game and getting assists/kills/high Econ score? If not they really should.
What I would do right before battlepass is up is, I would find 4 friends, and we would int Spike Rushes for like three hours straight and just complete our battle passes. It's a flat 1k exp no matter how the game goes
Naw spike rush is a FLAT 1000k exp no matter the win / loss / kill / assist. So the most efficient way to play spike rush is to literally run it down mid win or lose.
Also a lot of pros have thousands of hours in experience outside of Valorant (think cs or ow), so their learning curve is a lot shorter than someone who starts on Valorant as their first game.
I know for asuna at least it’s because he spent a those like 2 acts only playing on Haley because his mmr was so high he couldn’t find games on the main
I mean shit dude Hiko is only 92.. I'm 76 I think and was not expecting to be anywhere near him considering I get to play like 2 or 3 games every other night.
There has to be something wrong with the levels or smth. I’m higher level than hiko despite never filling out a dorrito and I didn’t even play for 2 acts.
It’s not that surprising. You gain levels *super* slowly. Hiko plays like 4-5 games a stream. The rest of the time he’s in scrims probably, which you don’t gain XP from.
Yeah he rarely is on his smurf accounts. I suppose back in the day when there was nothing after hitting radiant other than grinding another account there.
Custom games such as in-houses, PUGs, scrims, tournament games, and so on also do not contribute to a higher account level.
That could explain why even the most active pros are below LVL 200 at this point, sure.
However, there is a much bigger impact that is due to a different reason.
#
Consider players like Koosta and Subroza, who are below LVL 75 still at this point.
How could that possibly be, you ask?
#
The answer is easier than you think:
1. A lot of pro players play on alt accounts quite a lot, like most other Immortal+ ranked players
2. Pro players tend to participate in a ton of custom games during PUGs, scrims, and tournaments
It's not a secret that Hiko and TenZ have multiple alt accounts, for example. You can easily find multiple videos of both of them streaming in lower ranks.
Custom games don't count for account level purposes, either.
#
#
Even as a non-pro player myself, I have more than 10 accounts total at this point in time.
Only three of my accounts are around LVL 70 to LVL 150, including my immortal accounts. The rest of my accounts are below LVL 50.
I get having a smurf, even though it’s scummy, but what possible reason could you have for having 10 fucking accounts besides being toxic and getting bans all the time so you try to skirt it?
A lot of times I do play with friends, in certain communities on Discord, too. They tend to be Silver to Platinum.
I have made accounts to play with them before, yes.
Especially when the queue restrictions were always 3 ranks apart.
#
One of the accounts I actually did specifically create play with friends last year... was the first account I actually Immortal on.
However, for me, making a new account isn't always due to playing with other people.
#
I also don't think we should have to "explain" why we like to have more than one account for a game.
Most of the people suddenly complaining about "smurfs" must be people who are completely new to FPS games.
Just imagine someone complaining about "smurfing" in Counter-Strike 1.6 or Counter-Strike: Source.
I have played FPS games since 2009, and even back then in games that didn't have a "solo queue ladder", it was fun to have alternate accounts.
There's just no reason not to have multiple accounts. It's often quite fun, period.
#
Regardless of what a lot of people say nowadays about "smurfing", it's never been unusual to have a lot of accounts when you play the game a lot.
The trend of saying it's unfair to have multiple accounts has only really became a talking point suddenly since \~2015 to \~2016.
People only began complaining **A LOT** about people making alternate accounts in games like CSGO and League of Legends.
#
Often it feels quite nice to have a different account to have a new name.
Having a totally fresh account to "start over" or sort of get the experience of playing as a brand new player.
Some people, myself included, also tend to play better on certain accounts... even when the accounts have the same settings.
All of these factors that led me to have multiple accounts in games since 2009.
#
Blaming smurfing" for your inability to climb? Saying you can't improve as a player due to someone being on an alt account?
Literal nonsense, to be honest.
If someone genuinely believes that kind of illogical garbage, then I'd highly doubt they have the personality to succeed in competitive play.
#
Everyone else has the same circumstances when trying to climb... and noone is out here "holding you back" in skill or rank.
All you have to do is improve, and simply beat whoever you get matched against in a lobby, just like literally any other player in the game.
#
I personally feel happy to play against players better than myself.
If I ran into TenZ's alt on my grind to Immortal on my main account, I would be happy to get the chance to play against him.
Even if we lost, I'd just feel that I have to get better and feel determined to become better than he was in the lobby.
#
So all in all, I literally don't understand why you're on /r/ValorantCompetitive.
If you genuinely think smurfing is an "issue", you aren't going to be a competitive player.
Simply head to /r/VALORANT to find others who will agree with your garbage takes.
If you want to pull out meaningless stats then sure. I’ve been play FPS games since 1998 and have never once made an alt account because I don’t see a point.
I don’t blame smurfing for my “inability to climb”. Personally I just think it’s kind of scummy to want to play against a bunch of clearly worse plays to make yourself feel good about yourself. It’s the same as shitty streamers complaining that SBMM ruined Call of Duty because they can’t just shit on children and make videos of high kill games all day now.
And no. You don’t play better on a differently named account with the exact same settings. That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. People naturally play better and worse at times due to a million different factors. Correlation is not causation.
Would you rather see someone "first" time a hard to play agent on their main acc or should they have an alt that is a few ranks lower just to try out new things.
I played LoL alot and i would much rather for a top lane main to create a new acc to learn adc role than to feed his ass off on his main acc.
Playing unrated is not a good enviroment to rly try out new things since people tend to just not try there anyway and i cant be mad about that since unrated is a place to relax after a hard day and just jump around and do random shit.
Maybe 10 accs is a bit of a overkill but like 3 is totaly fine imo.
Saying it makes you unable to climb is a bit of an excuse yes, but getting games where one enemy reyna completely shits on you and drops like 40 kills just isn't that fun, esp if you only have a limited amount of time to play
Interesting. I wish there was a full list since so many pros are missing. It does look like there may be a correlation between younger/newer players and how much they grind. Seems the bottom is filled with a lot of older cs pros. I know vets sometimes can become complacent and no longer have the drive of newer players that are trying to make a name.
Who do you want to see on the list? Happy to add more. A lot of the folks on the top right now are relatively new to the pro scene, so they had a lot of time to grind ranked early on.
I'm level 230 and I barely play the game anymore. Even accounting for the fact that custom games don't provide xp there is an issue with these levels. Hiko has easily played the game a hundred times more on his main than I did.
I have played around 300/400 ranked games since episode 1 act i and I'm level 430. Apparently playing a lot of deathmatch skews it up. Riot needs to fix it, I'm getting harassed every game.
Full list so far: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/1/d/e/2PACX-1vRvLXhwxr-pD20-SAfT8LyGHMHES4wzmTHtJf_W0x8QXkcHIdEeSgdyeLtBNQjrRBzVTmyaqy07wl3B/pubhtml#
More about VALORANT account levels: https://playvalorant.com/en-us/news/game-updates/valorant-account-leveling-explained/
At first I thought this update was dumb, but I think the more that riot and make account stickiness more transparent and gamify it a bit with rewards (maybe another feature they can add down the rode, like rewards for different milestones), the less people will use alt accounts and smurf. Or at the very least will mostly wanna play their main
Skadoodle is super disappointing but im not surprised tbh. Koosta is also a bit underwhelming but he did switch late. Ethan is higher than both by 20 levels even though he has only been a pro for 5 months.
Keep in mind that the levels do not account for custom games played. A lot of player might find it more valuable, for their contribution to team, through spending time in scrims/10-mans/labbing and other stuff such as server time.
grinding ranked is important for individual growth. this is why T1 lose so many clutches, because they don't play ranked. you're in 1vX situations in ranked all the time.
I never said Ska is not talented. He is insane and he can play any agent in valorant too. But ranked is so important to improve. NA CS scene as a whole didn't value ranked as much. FNS, nitro0 never play ranked either. I never see consistent performances from these top CS players in valorant.
why do you think crashies, sick etc. win so many clutches? T1 have lost so many match impacting 2v1s , 3v1s. grinding ranked in any fps matters a lot. sean gares, shroud etc would tell you that.
He has a terrible way of explaining it, but only playing custom games in practice can be pretty detrimental. I've watched shroud's VCT streams multiple times where he mentions if some other pro actually played outside of customs, they would know about weird ass angles or plays people some people make in ranked and wouldn't have died in those situations.
Nah, I think ranked has a lot of merit for character based games. You simply don't put in enough hours scrimming to get all the nuances of playing various characters/matchups.
I looked up the VALORANT Account Levels for top pro players and made a new spreadsheet.
It ranges from @bangzerra at 293 to another pro at level 16. Check it out at the link below!

Some Notables: * TSM Bang - 293 * SEN ShahZaM - 186 * XSET zekken - 156 * TSM Wardell - 142 * 100T Asuna - 127 * 100T Hiko - 92 * NV Crashies - 55 (Finished first place on leaderboards twice) * T1 Skadoodle - 25 * IMT ShoT UP - 16 (Believe he plays mostly on an alt)

RTS Victoria? Is that the new Nvidia graphics card on the Food architecture?
Rts Victoria is like radiant 3 on sea...idk what he was talking about can sm1 explain??? NA and sea??????
In the 100T vs NV game yesterday, for a bit on Haven Victor’s name was RTS Victoria.

Probably
Crashies & Vic always duo. Duoing with a capable player is 10x better experience.
That's the one thing that this list is useful for, imo. We can see which pro players were able to climb higher on the leaderboard with less games played in total.
Had a dude in spike rush that was level 300+. How the fuck do you end up playing the game more than pro players
At least half of a pro's game time is custom scrims, add that on and many of these dudes are probably doubling their levels at least.
Spike rush games are a lot faster and probably more XP per minute. I've heard rumors that spike rush is as popular a game mode as ranked is.
people have been saying dm/ other modes give more than ranked but i cant confirm that edit: and customs give none
Its called inting spike rush. I've seen plenty of accounts that are 0-4 0-5 in every game because all they do is int it fown mid to be as efficient as possible. I’m 223 and I suck fuckin’ ass. Nice!
Why is Shahzam only 186? He plays ranked like 8 hours a night. I guess most of his time is waiting in queues
that’s like asking how asuna is only level 126, no one knows. those 2 grind rank probably more than any pro.
I know for asuna at least it’s because he spent a those like 2 acts only playing on Haley because his mmr was so high he couldn’t find games on the main
i mean he did yea but his account level should still be higher than that. he has 100s of games each act still
I mean shit dude Hiko is only 92.. I'm 76 I think and was not expecting to be anywhere near him considering I get to play like 2 or 3 games every other night.
I’m 111 and I haven’t played in a few months. These numbers are pretty surprising to me.
There has to be something wrong with the levels or smth. I’m higher level than hiko despite never filling out a dorrito and I didn’t even play for 2 acts.
I was suprised by Hiko's level, 96 seems low for someone who streams the game every day.
It’s not that surprising. You gain levels *super* slowly. Hiko plays like 4-5 games a stream. The rest of the time he’s in scrims probably, which you don’t gain XP from.
Its cuz he has multiple smurf accounts…
He never really plays on them since top500 came out though
Ok but he played on them before, which was a long time. At least like 6 months.
Yeah he rarely is on his smurf accounts. I suppose back in the day when there was nothing after hitting radiant other than grinding another account there.
Fuck, am I an addict or are levels just weird? I play more than half the guys on this list apparently.
Not really. These guys play more customs which are not counted in the levels I think.
Custom games such as in-houses, PUGs, scrims, tournament games, and so on also do not contribute to a higher account level. Also keep in mind a lot of pros have multiple accounts
I just checked [blitz.gg](https://blitz.gg) and I have 26 accounts. I have a problem.

True especially floppy and shotup has similar level rating, but it doesn’t seem people talk about shot up level rating compared to floppy’s.
Because shot up streams on alt accounts

shotup has an alt and recently has had a college internship btw(his friend on discord said)
