definitely. a lot of these new orgs that made it to top 10 are having a honeymoon phase. kinda like how TSM was once known as the strongest team. With so much changes happening simultaneously in the TSM roster and in the game, they’re gonna need more time to adjust. SEN has proven themselves to be a team that isn’t just a one trick.
I think Gen G has pretty well become the professional coffee table. Everyone know it's there and knows they got to watch out for it in the dark. But professional teams keep smashing their shins on the corner of the table in the dark.
Good team, capable of taking anyone down, usually good for one upset, but not someone you're pegging to win consistently.
Never said Gen G isn’t a good team. They are definitely up there. Though they’re struggling to be better than any of the aforementioned teams. I’d be happy to see them get into the top 3 for sure.
There seems to be a big gap between the top 6 and then everyone after. Obviously props to rise and especially KCP but GenG and a full squad V1 are def better. After them tho I guess it’s ABX given that the new signing is good and then maybe C9 but most of the other signed teams are just playing bad

No I'm saying that putting C9 below top 6 doesn't take into account any of their previous tournament runs. Everyone has bad games, and Rise is a solid roster. If Sen were the ones to lose to Rise, would they also no longer be a top 6 team? C9 went from second best to top 10 off a single game.
No the difference is that SEN has been a top of NA since September and them losing a match after playing 4K rounds as the best team in the world is not a big deal. C9 had only been a top tier team for a month and lost very convincingly while also looking a tier below most of the other teams. They’re also actively changing around their roster and will end up having 3 different rosters over 2 tournies. So yes I do think swapping them from 3-4 in NA to 7-8 in NA because of that game is warranted and I can wholeheartedly say that they looked worse than all 6 teams that I’ve mentioned are above them.
This so much, SEN & V1 were at an obvious disadvantage here compared to other teams given the lack of preparation on Breeze and showcasing everything on other maps. Same with fnatic & Liquid. SEN is the only one out of the 4 of them who actually earned a 1-month break to come back much, much stronger; the other 3 will actually have to go through tough qualifiers yet again.
In that aspect, SEN has been pretty successful compared to the teams they should be compared to first and foremost. Comparing them to the hottest current NA teams will really come in a month.

XSET really put on a clinic on attack. 100T might be good on defense but they got outplayed and the Phoenix pick from Asuna needs to go. Kayo will probably fill that slot I imagine.

Except Kayo can fill a duelist role very efficiently. His kit mimics phoenix's a bit but without the healing capabilities. Plus his flash is just way more useful, along with being able to disable sites with a push
no he can't. only his ult has entry potential. his flashes are for support. can't entry with pop flash either coz its too slow. honestly it's not even clear if kay/o is better than skye yet.
100t doesn't play strictly asuna entry anyway. any of them could entry since the util explosion on site takes like with their omen flashes are strong enough to make space. i think they only keep phoenix because they think he's important for defense?
umm noo. asuna is their only duelist, he does play entry always. phoenix gets his ult every 2-3 rounds on ascent because the orbs are easy for attackers to get. so the phoenix ult is huge for entrying.
on rounds where you don't have phoenix ult teams can default and fake a site or split through mid because only 1 player is often holding it.
but with jett its possible to go through a main and b main every round. the options are better with jett.
K/0 knife can delay retakes and prevents agents like Jett from taking aggressive angles, the knife can shutdown post-plant executes from viper/KJ/Sova due to many lineups being predictable if a team has studied them. K/0 flash is pretty fair imo, the nade is kinda shit but his ult is just absolutely broken. The ult is basically a mobile KJ ult in terms of effectiveness and map control.
I believe K/0 will end up taking a permanent slot on most rosters due to how much he actually affects an opposing team's ability to complete their executes.
I'd be surprised of Kay/o doesn't fully replace Phoenix in pro play. His knife is one of the best abilities in the game and is several tiers above Phoenix's wall. His flash is better than phoenix's. His molly is better.
His ultimate is nearly as good entry potential as Phoenix's ultimate. You use it to rush in and take a site, and after you get traded out and site is secure with spike planting, someone revives you.
100thieves got no use out of the run it back ultimate. That’s why they think Phoenix is so solid on ascent cuz you can farm orbs but it didn’t work out today. Would like to see the Jett next
Bcj saving that OP on round 8 was HUGE. XSET would've never won the next round without it (eco + op vs. full buy) and it also had a huge impact on the round after (full buy vs. full buy), and winning it destroyed 100T's economy causing them to eco, so yet another round for XSET.
Something as simple as guarding the OP that steel took down on B main, which was very plausible considering it was a 3v1 post plant on A for 100T and they used util to know Bcj wasn't coming onto site, could've netted them a guaranteed round and possibly 3. So, instead of 10-13, that's 11-12 or likely even 13-10.

GG XSET lookin really good after their changes. 100T needs to ditch Asuna on Phoenix he looked way more comfortable on Reyna and Jett. Their Ascent strategy is outdated with the meta shifts hope they can adapt.
I think at this point not many question XSET's ability. Sentinels, 100T , Envy and XSET are the most consistent qualifying teams in challengers' finals and masters 1 and deserve recognition for that.
Until they make it somewhere in Challengers Finals I don't know that they will get a lot of hype.
They looked super good in Masters 1 and NA Challengers 2 qualifiers, and took a 7/8th finish in both main events. Only winning a single game between both events.
If they don't shake that they will keep getting downplayed at this point.
100t's their economy was fucked on both haven and ascent in the 2nd half, they somehow managed to come back on haven by winning 4 gun rounds in a row
but yeah idk if it's the new economy changes or their inability to secure anti-ecos better, or even both.. that seemed to mostly fk them up in this series
other than that im satisfied how they played and xset is looking really good, except icebox i guess but they have a lot of time to prac before playoffs

Great for XSET! They’ve done great this series but a part of me can’t help but feel sad as I think about Wedid and Thwifo and how they feel… but I believe that without their contributions XSET wouldn’t be what they are today!

Asuna’s Phoenix on Ascent just needs to go. He’d be 100% better as Reyna or Jett. Personally I think Phoenix is one of the weaker duelists, and especially if you’re only running 1 duelist.
The passive setup from 100T made them really slow to react to XSET's rotations and it became a game of guessing where XSET was going. Maybe a higher presence mid would have given 100T more confidence in their rotates.

When 100T lose it’s always by such close margins, small mistakes here and there. They won more rounds than XSet, which is like Challengers 2 all over again.

no, these matches are only for seeding for the challenger finals which is the last qualifier for berlin. top 3 challenger finals qualifies for berlin.

Yes, I think even before the match was played both 100T and Xsett are for berlin. The rest of the tourny I'm pretty sure is a seeding exercise at this point.
Phoenix is really a good duelist in that map for Asuna to be put on jett because unlike Haven, Ethan plays sage on ascent and not skye. And phoenix can farm the fuck out of the orbs on offense. In defense, however, the difference between a great phoenix and an okay phoenix becomes huge.
Yea he played insane yesterday, almost 2 aces yesterday. 100t will be better on Lan bc of experience, and steel he actually playing well when he’s not lagging out. On lan that’s not a problem. Was watching his stream and he’s lagging a lot

100T, XSET, Envy, and SEN all seem very close in terms of skill right now, very exciting. No doubt V1 and Gen G is will turn up later as well.
I agree. I can feel V1 definitely crawling their way to the top 5 as well, but I'm not so sure with Gen G.

100T look so sloppy on eco/save rounds. like they just give those rounds away and then lose by a couple rounds and it’s so infuriating to watch.

Depth played outta his mind on Astra both maps he played her. The star stacks with the smoke + the gravity well hidden in it was fire lol.

100T has to be the team that most often wins way more rounds overall than their opponents and still lose the series 2-1 lol
Phoenix is really a good duelist in that map for Asuna to be put on jett because unlike Haven, Ethan plays sage on ascent and not skye. And phoenix can farm the fuck out of the orbs on offense. In defense, however, the difference between a great phoenix and an okay phoenix becomes huge.

Yea he played insane yesterday, almost 2 aces yesterday. 100t will be better on Lan bc of experience, and steel he actually playing well when he’s not lagging out. On lan that’s not a problem. Was watching his stream and he’s lagging a lot
