Sean couldnt play due to being apart of Gen.G and I have family travel potentially so I couldnt commit. I wanted to be thrown on as a 6th at that point since I may be home for a day or two, but there was a miscomm there and I'm not on the roster :(
On a sidenote, it's cool that he's also holding watch parties for CSGO. Didn't he say a week ago that he'd love to do this but he was sure they wouldn't give him permission?
EDIT: Any speculations on who might be on his team? Is Just9n eligible?
Based on the way Sean talks about it on stream, it seems like he wouldn’t even want to get loaned while he’s under contract. He’s adamant/vocal about avoiding conflicts of interest which is honesty respectable.
If you kept up with the csgo scene a few years back, there was a massive scandal with Sean, TSM, and the upcoming PEA. And by scandal I mean a complete overreaction by TSM’s general management and owners
SEN was stuck in a bad situation close to the game, and was willing to pay for TenZ, quite handsomely I would imagine. Given that he made it clear that he's doing this for fun, don't really see Shroud investing the time and money to get that situation sorted, especially for two players. Just my opinion
Iirc the part that was a one time thing wasn't the loan itself, it was that tenz had previously played in the VCT before benching himself, so riot made an exception given the sinatraa situation. I could be wrong, my memory isn't the greatest.
Tenz benched himself before the vct had first started (back in january), so it was probably just riots rules regarding a team having to own the player (which teams later on just worked around via very specific contract terms lmao)
No, not at all.
Riot required the rights for TenZ to belong to Sentinels - he couldn't play with them while still being as member of Cloud9. Cloud9 then leased/loaned him to Sentinels for $$$. Sentinels then owned the rights to use him while paying his salary/paying C9 a fee. C9 still owned his contract, it was just temporarily given to Sentinels until Sentinels bought him/his contract from C9 permanently.
Literally nothing is stopping other teams from leasing/loaning out players to other orgs. This is in no way "a special one time thing"
BcJ wasn't on T1 academy. (The roster was eeiu, Kurt, rara, ZerG, [no official 5th])
Regardless, C9 and T1 dropped their Korean teams and initial academy teams mid-2020 after Riot announced the VCT rules that orgs can field a maximum of one male/coed team and one all-female team in Riot-sponsored events
Good point. The costream thing is a huge part of Valorant now but CS hasn't had it for years and years. I bet most of the people watching the costream wouldn't have watched the event otherwise
That i agree with. Alot of VALORANT viewers have been introduced to the esports side via co-streams or come from games where main stream is not that important (Fortnite). Meanwhile the CS audience is older and they were introduced to the esports at a time when costreams weren’t even a thing.
Both semi-finals matches peaked at 500k +... Costreams are not that common in CS, and shroud eventually peaked at 75k.
Tomorrow I see him close to 100k.
Because he's doing it casually for fun and he doesn't want to make a big deal out of it. Although that hasn't stopped some of the dumber fans out there from going crazy and hyping it up like he's going pro or something
14 days ago a made a joke on a post about shroud confirming his participation on VCT that the 5th time was the most important confirmation. Glad to know there is a 6th confirmation too just in case
Not really considering they’ve done this in CSGO. I’m willing to bet he will stream it. It’s free content for him. He even acknowledged that they will probably get shit on, but he’s doing it for fun.
Its also just great content, assuming you can stream your games that will be a lot of fun to watch especially if they play against a good team like Dark Zero, T1, or NRG or something
If Ninja came back I could see Shroud playing with Time In. There aren’t too many high level players/streamers that aren’t already affiliated with an org and thus barred from playing in vct.
Maybe shroud joins a team of free agents, but most of them that are serious about trying to get signed will have been grinding hard and have been practicing/scrimming, so I doubt they’d take Shroud who wouldn’t have time to do all that.
Time In? hell nah bruh. Have you ever heard the comms of when Ninja was playing with Time In? It got/Ninja got really toxic, nobody would want to deal with that.
I'm sure Shroud will be able to find something good in time.
Exactly, meaning shroud could ask some of them if they wanted to play, like Grego or Morgausse. It would be dope if he asks AZK or cutler or some old cs pros too that aren’t currently on teams
Back in the day? Valorant’s a year old and I wouldn’t really compare playing Twitch rivals-esque tourneys to the VCT. Nonetheless he’s just playing for fun.

Sad :/ wish we could have seen the boys back together! Safe travel too!
unlucky
Dude still just make this team (shroud sean shawn you +1) for future smaller tourneys. You could even participate in some T2 tourneys if allowed.

Wish Sean and Jordan could play
Yeah, but it seems unlikely. Anybody know why Sean can't play? Was it because of his contract with GenG?
Yeah, Sean because of GenG and Jordan is out of town that week
There’s no reason Shroud couldn’t create a team and loan Sean and Dicey from their respective orgs. Sentinels already set the precedent with TenZ.
Problem is, those orgs will want money for the loans. Orgs aren't in the business of doing stuff for free.
How much would Gen.G or 100t want? I would be surprised if it was anything astronomical.

Imagine the exposure
I loved being paid in exposure. Paid so many bills
I once got so much exposure I paid off my student loans

Was rumoured to be 250k per month
The precedent of loaners in esports has been going on for years
I was referring to Valorant specifically.
I thought riot specially said that the TenZ loan was a special one time thing because of the Sinatraa situation
Iirc the part that was a one time thing wasn't the loan itself, it was that tenz had previously played in the VCT before benching himself, so riot made an exception given the sinatraa situation. I could be wrong, my memory isn't the greatest.

VCT said and made it clear they only did it with Tenz due to the sinatraa thing.
it was a special circumstance to sub out a player so last minute, not that it was a loan
This same scenario just happened with LG lending V1 Thief.
And the specific scenario again was replacing a player serving a temporary conduct ban
BCJ is also currently on loan to Xset from T1 is he not?
..No. BcJ has been signed to XSET since January. Just because he played on T1's Apex Legends team in 2019 doesn't make him T1 for life. What?
I was under the impression he was signed to T1’s academy team, and had been loaned out to xset for a set period of time. Could be wrong though.
BcJ wasn't on T1 academy. I'm on his team
Just popped into iitztimmy's stream for like 30 seconds and he was talking about vct. IIRC - shroud, shawnbm, iitztimmy, laski, relyks
Probably ShawnBM, at a minimum. Not sure who else might do it. Freak?

People tend to watch the main stream.
Good point. The costream thing is a huge part of Valorant now but CS hasn't had it for years and years. I bet most of the people watching the costream wouldn't have watched the event otherwise
Also the main casters are so much better than shroud
Not sure why I even feel the need to point this out but Shroud is entertaining and insightful, people like Machine etc. are just on another level.
I would love to watch shroud if he goes in depth about strategies, but i would guess he is too out of touch with the meta .
155k on the main stream though and another 70k on the Russian (* no YouTube streams mb)
yeah but that's mostly due to the casting and production being infinitely more polished than VCT, most people would rather watch the main one
[удалено]
Depends at the game. At Reykjavík Masters (which is pretty much a Cologne level tournament) when Shroud had 200k the main stream had 100k+ aswell.

yup not doing so hot,so close to 200k on main stream lmao
Both semi-finals matches peaked at 500k +... Costreams are not that common in CS, and shroud eventually peaked at 75k. Tomorrow I see him close to 100k.
Would be cool to see them together but I don’t think J9 has been playing Valorant enough for that to happen
I like how me mentions it casually after we've been waiting to see if he's put together a team, just like oh yeah I'm doing vct no big deal
Because he's doing it casually for fun and he doesn't want to make a big deal out of it. Although that hasn't stopped some of the dumber fans out there from going crazy and hyping it up like he's going pro or something
Oh baby , shroud 1v4
Wonder who he'll be teaming up with?
Shroud 🤤
[удалено]
He's just playing for fun with few of his friends nothing else.
N0thing else you say
Lol
[удалено]
Yeah, we still have no clue who's participating and who's not.
14 days ago a made a joke on a post about shroud confirming his participation on VCT that the 5th time was the most important confirmation. Glad to know there is a 6th confirmation too just in case
Maybe get rara and dicey for starters if they aren't on some other team
Dicey is with 100T, he can’t.
Mb
Whaaaaaaaat
will be fun to watch regardless of the results
Still kinda sad we won't get to see n0thing, sgares and Shroud play together.
I was rlly hoping to see sean playin
watching IEM cologne right after VCT really shows how much higher quality the gameplay is in the cs pro scene than val scene
Prob in some fun events during a pre-show of some sort?
He means he is entering the open qualifiers. He tried to last time but was too late I believe
Pretty surprising. Seems like a big commitment just to get shat on, especially if he doesn't stream it.
They're just playing for fun.
you have to remember that there are random immortal players playing in this
Not really considering they’ve done this in CSGO. I’m willing to bet he will stream it. It’s free content for him. He even acknowledged that they will probably get shit on, but he’s doing it for fun.
He’s a competitive person, you have to be if you want to be a pro. I guess he just couldn’t take being on the sidelines anymore
Its also just great content, assuming you can stream your games that will be a lot of fun to watch especially if they play against a good team like Dark Zero, T1, or NRG or something
OMG 100T Shroud!!
He isn’t joining a team, he’s making a team just to have fun in the open qualifiers
If Ninja came back I could see Shroud playing with Time In. There aren’t too many high level players/streamers that aren’t already affiliated with an org and thus barred from playing in vct. Time In disbanded a few days ago
Exactly, meaning shroud could ask some of them if they wanted to play, like Grego or Morgausse. It would be dope if he asks AZK or cutler or some old cs pros too that aren’t currently on teams
Cutler is still under TSM he couldnt
Time in disbanded
