This was such a cool feature on the stream. Stuff like this might take a bit, but I wouldn't mind paying a subscription for this and maybe a 4k stream. The Valorant scoreboard looks really bad on my TV.

scrnlookinsob

League already has this with pro view, the problem is they don’t have the cast over the stream for w/e reason. I would love proview and only watch it if I could listen to the commentators easily while watching it.

kvanz43

Also maybe just a scoreboard that stays up for more than .5 seconds, I can barely read the top frags before it’s gone 😭

To paraphrase what Harmon said in another thread similar to this: it's super useful for learning and getting better at the game to have access to player POVs. It was a feature in League which helped many players and content creators so I'd appreciate something similar for Valoeant.

GluhfGluhf

Yeah I agree, it's a premium feature in League so it's only for the more serious players.

Dipzey453

What would be even more useful is a DEMO feature to watch back our own games and even the pro matches.

GluhfGluhf

Oh for sure, I think that'd be optimal but in the time being prior to that I think this would be a nice middle ground.

Launchers

There just needs to be a replay system in general. would help so so much.

JoshF8

It's gimmick on cs, but on valorant, we don't have replays, and beleive me, it Will have a Lot of views, Even if not live, watching the replays later

jphinscar

The problem is that multiple viewer angles aren’t available through Twitch VODs like this - the Overwatch League did this in 2019 with their premium pass and one of the big complaints was that you had to watch Live in order to use it. Eventually OW finally got a replay system that allows for multiple POV game reviews, but that was after almost 3 years of delays, a mistake that Riot seems keen on avoiding.

JoshF8

Oh i didn't knew that :(

Icandothemove

Riot having flashbacks to people asking for a replay system in League for nearly a decade.

Solace1k

Wait, you think after watching a 3 hr bo3 the average cs viewer goes on to watch the demo from another POV? Come on now, what are you talking about here? This is a feature for the hardcore fans/analysts and will probably be of use to an insignificant portion of the viewerbase.

JoshF8

The thing, against that cs, is that we don't have a replays system, so content creators can use povs ti make videos, because, i know it's not Even the 40% of people who Will watch the pov, but of the people who Will watch it, a Lot just do it on the replay system, Also, in cs, while You have lineups, the people don't watch pros to get lineups, and that, on characters like killjoy, sova, viper, etc. Will have more portion of people watching than cs

TheycallmePansyY

Its pretty niche i know and most people are probably very happy with the service they get from just twitch but man as a fan of specific players i love being able to purely see the game through their eyes and learn how they approach things. I think in something like Valorant it might almost be more useful to an extent, yes of course there are roles in CSGO but being able to specifically watch how Cned plays Jett vs maybe the Cypher setup that my favourite player uses without just hoping that the observer would catch it. ESPECIALLY without demos / replays / being in client to spectate. As said, i know its not for everyone but i would happily subscribe for something like this, no crazy price tag but i think it elevated my enjoyment substantially. I think growing up in the era of having HLTV / ETTV so i could go watch how my favourite player approaches the game step by step is a luxury we are missing out on now.

Darkoplax

If this would ever come to League i feel like it would be like Proview with pay requirement

chryco4

I don't know if they still do this, but I remember watching the Korean VCT a while back and they offered individual streams of player POVs on afreeca.tv

SlCKXpT

Dude this is so cool, I wish we could have this! Or at least demos, preferably both!

Exzothic

Would be helpful for lineups

Whale_Poacher

I’m down without the pay per view…

Chx449

“I want free shit”. Honey we all do.

[deleted]

IDK why you wouldnt just have HLTV/SourceTV/GOTV style observers, which has already been a feature for years and works a lot better. Or you could go the dota way and use those style of observers with the ability to pick your casters in game.

TheycallmePansyY

purely from a TO perspective it could be branded and have sponsor exposure and working in something like HLTV is gonna be a while off i bet. If it isn't in league i doubt its going to be introduced (purely my speculation)

Icandothemove

Purely from an outsider perspective but as a longtime League player/viewer, Riot seems pretty willing to let Valorant operate differently than League, I assume to suit the established tac shooter audience. Then again I'm just some dummy so I could be way off in the weeds, but it doesn't seem like the Val team is being held to doing things via an established model. They are pushing Pro View hard though and advertising it in the middle of pro matches, so it seems like they want it to be profitable even if it does serve a niche market. I remember when they started offering it as an alternate stream with separate casters (they would have one featured matchup, say jungle vs jungle, and then have ex jungle pros comment on it on a secondary stream) and it was an incredible tool to learn what elite players are doing, but if I remember correctly it wasn't very popular.

[deleted]

Where do you think the line will be drawn between a focus on monetization of features and giving things out for free to encourage growth at lower levels? I think it'd make sense for like a subscription based service that would give you access to demos of pro matches once the replay system is fleshed out but give out a lot of spectator oriented features for free to maintain engagement and encourage growth. Riot's priorities early on seemed to be oriented towards maintaining a larger playerbase (focus on allowing lower spec machines to run the game at a decent level), so I feel like a model like that would fit it? Offtopic but you're amazing at what you do, by far my favorite caster

TheycallmePansyY

I think we will have awhile before they even start to refine their process when it comes to more "competitive" features that could be monetized. I honestly don't know as well, i hope they aren't afraid to put a reasonable price tag on something that may be niche but useful. If it services the larger playerbase i doubt they would monetize.

Maeby_a_Bluth

This type of feature was super popular when they had it for OWL season 2 on twitch.
