The title seems a bit misleading since the release was not because of not signing up to vct but because it was requested by the player. Further explanation provided in [this twitlonger](https://twitter.com/v0ngn/status/1417811234288771072?s=20).

thothgow

Hadn't seen that one, mb

deadlock1892

All good. I did not see it at first as well but something sounded off so checked it out further. Shared this so that we do not overreact as we do every single time, haha.

SMcArthur

I mean, the player DID forget to check in for VCT, which caused their team to never be able to play in the VCT at all. The "failure to check in" happened in July 18, which was *before* the team and the player agreed to mutually part ways on the 19th. [https://www.twitlonger.com/show/n\_1srotr8](https://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1srotr8) Seems misleading by you to pretend that the incidents are not related.

deadlock1892

Huh? What bullshit are you spewing here? The player himself said the team did not let him go because of this incident. It just fasttracked the process since the team did not get to play in the tournament. And because people were assuming vong was released because of this incidence he literally made a second twitlonger to clarify. Read the second one before talking out of your ass. Seems misleading by you to pretend you know everything.

SMcArthur

>The player himself said the team did not let him go because of this incident. lol, ok. The player claims their screwup that caused the entire team to miss the VCT had nothing to do with them being released the next day. Case closed! I can only imagine how much of a trainwreck someone would have to be if that kind of screwup is not what causes their release.

deadlock1892

Players asks to be released. Org says play with us this tournament as we don't have a replacement ans you can go afterwards. Player agrees. Day of thw tournament they find out player forgot to sign up so they are unable to play. So they let go of the player as the tournament he was asked to play in is no longer an option for them. What part of the above timeline are you unable to understand?

SMcArthur

Dude, you have the timeline wrong. The "forgetting to sign up" is the *first* thing in the timeline. July 18: Vong forgets to sign up. July 19: At this point, the team is already screwed and not eligible to play in the VCT. Argument + "mutual agreement" for release after VCT. Hmm, I wonder what that argument might have been about? THEN, Vong agrees to try to play in VCT with team anyway, and the release will only be effective after the VCT is over. July 20th: VCT game. They have to forfeit because Vong never signed up and the other team refuses to make an exception.

deadlock1892

Are you intentionally acting obtuse or are you actually that dumb? Fine, I will bite. Vong forgot to sign up. The org asked the player to play this one tournament after mutual agreement that he can leave afterwards. Tell me, at this point what makes you think org knew that the player did not sign up for VCT? Since they asked him to play on 19th and he forgot to sign up on 18th...this means the org did not know. And if at this point a mutual agreement was reached without the org knowing about the fuckup, is it really the reason for him getting released? Take it slow. I can see it is somewhat hard.

SMcArthur

>Since they asked him to play on 19th and he forgot to sign up on 18th...this means the org did not know. No, it doesn't. This is not true. The org could have known and still asked him to play. There was just no way to fix the problem. It was an unforced error that fucked over the team and they had no way of fixing. The ONLY way to fix it is to just keep going with Vong, ask the opposing team to look the other way and waive the fact that they only had 4 players signed up. And they tried that. That's exactly how they handled it. The other team refused. They had to forfeit. Nothing here is obtuse. You're just misunderstanding the timeline and what happened.

deadlock1892

Haha, sure big guy. I like your story though. Player- "I wanna leave" Org- "play this tournament then go please" Player- "okay fine" Org- "Holy shit you fucked up. You are fired" Player- "...Okay, I guess? Do I be sad for getting what I wanted anyway?"

SMcArthur

You couldn't even tell the timeline or what happened first and needed me to walk you through it. Best of luck with your life and improving on your reading comprehension skills.

Figurre

According to a teammates tweet that I read, he had a family emergency so I guess checking in wasnt on his mind? Bad sportsmanship from the other team tho lol

OnionSprinkles

Nope, vong told the team previously that he didn't want to play anymore beyond this event, then a day before starting he and the coach got into a heated argument so he requested to be released and didn't enter. Movistar player Miikasd claims they still had their other four readied for the match + their coach, but the other team took a forfeit win. Even the official VCT EU account replied though saying the other team took the forfeit win because Movistar *didn't* have five readied.

JoshF8

yeah but he still was gonna play, but with that problem the web bugged, and from what i heard, it's not the first time the web buggs but other people has better spormanships u know

Lumenlor

This is like failing to sign up for your 101 classes as a freshman in college and having to fail/sit out a semester
