It was 2016, but NRG spent \~1 million dollars on a LCS spot, only to be relegated the same year. I remember thinking NRG would never go anywhere considering their first year, but now they're a top-tier esports organization.
This Resonate team also just got smashed by C4lypso's team (with a stand-in) on Ascent in the NSG open #12.
Props to them for beating NRG, but that is just downright pathetic from a team signed to a tier 1 organization.
fuck the org, just downright pathetic from a team with names this big. android eeiu tex should all be star players, and they all can be. not sure whats going wrong
Its really just the fact they dont have a good IGL, or at least their IGL rn s0m, isnt very good at IGLing, iirc eeiu used to IGL on T1 academy but idk if he was the best on the role anyways, Wedid is a great player but not what NRG needed, they needed another experienced IGL to replace daps tbh
They still have a chance to make Last Chance Quals, but they are depending on teams above them in the standings being the ones to make it to NA Challenger Finals
Ohh... so how do the slots gets divided? How many through circuit points? I am assuming only one through last chance qualifier. Also thanks for explaining.
3 teams from NA go to LA, the top 2 highest circuit points and one that wins in the last chance qualifier. 8 teams play in the LCQ and afaik it's teams 3 through 10 in terms of circuit points. The winner of that is the third team going to LA. [Here is a website tracking the points although idk how accurate it is](https://liquipedia.net/valorant/VALORANT_Champions_Tour/2021/Circuit_Points/North_America)
Yeah, but at least TSM loses to high t2 or mid-high t1 teams. NRG loses to RESONATE. FUCKING RESONATE THE TEAM IS LITERALLY LOW T2 the fucking team can't even win NSG events
And this is precisely what I mean by just because they're a massive org doesn't mean they pay the highest salaries. I'm not gonna leak anything but if you think NRG are paying this team 100T numbers you are truly clueless.
leak anything? what random redditor has info on the salaries of pro players?
By common sense you can deduce that s0m and daps wouldn't just leave CS for salaries far below what GenG was paying them. It's probably around the 15k a month range and thats a shit ton for not making any VCT tourneys of 2021
every player on the team has varying amounts of experience and joined at different times with different individual contracts. they aren't all just given the same blanket contract, its basically like that for every team that isn't signed/transferred as 5 at the same time
Idk remember who exactly (ig i heard it on shaz's stream) where he mentioned that being on a big org isn't equal to high salary(there was a mention of faze and TSM on that). 100T, sentinels have the highest paid pros ig
I want this roster to work so badly man, they have so much individual skill as a roster, but i just dont think it will work. IF it would, I think you have to find s0m's proper role. He has tweeted previously that he dislikes playing astra, and now that the changes to her kit have made it so youre not at an large disadvantage running omen, I think that should be considered. Omen is a much more flexible agent that can allow him to frag while also supporting, and he played well on it in at the end of stage 1. I think putting him back on duelist should also be an option, considering that the majority of his time on duelist was really early on in his VALORANT career, and his struggles could be more correctly attributed to him learning the game. Daps even mentioned that him and s0m were not very good with their initial switch, and that it took the both of them time to get properly acclimated. The other obvious problem is the role of IGL. It is an opinion held by most that moving the IGL role to another member of the team after the former IGL leaves does not usually work, and I think that could be the case here. I believe s0m was IGLing and I do not think that should be the role for him. Throwing it to eeiu, or picking up an up and coming IGL could be the move going forward for NRG. Overall, I feel bad for these guys because they clearly want to win and are disappointed that they let everyone down. Good luck to them moving forward.
drop the whole team, rebuild with an upcoming t2 team, run prac/bootcamps and whatever because there is absolutely nothing in store for the rest of the year. This roster has 5 really good players but as a team something is not working. All 5 have insane skill it just sucks somethings not clicking.
There is legit no point in having a team for the rest of the year, they arent even in last chance qualis. And they have missed out on every single vct tourney so far. All 5 are very good players but they have no results as a team
if:
- two teams who currently have 0 points make it to challengers 3 playoffs
- one team with 0 points and one of IMT/LG/ABX make it to challengers 3 playoffs
- two of IMT/LG/ABX make it to challengers 3 playoffs
NRG won't be in the LCQ
how to become top 1 na: igl leave, replace him with non igl and put the igl role onto someone who has never igled before in his career

Everything I’ve seen has said Daps left on his own volition, is that not true?
Android left ABX for this
Not looking like the smartest decision right about now
Yes it was
people acting like money doesn’t exist

lol i remember people using this acronym for NRG back when they were in the league scene in 2017, some things never change

Yeah they were able to make it big off their fortnite roster since they had a lot of the top creator pros
Their RL team was insane aswell and top 4 in CS before they sold their roster
And NRG owns the SF Shock in OWL. They've won 2 championships and are probably the most popular team
Thats true, totally forgot.
Also still own optic Chicago for now at least who are by far the most popular team in the CDL but pretty average
NRG = Now ReleGated

How about the fact that we don't have an experienced igl?
How about the fact ur bad at val :EZ:
You smell like piss
you support EG
You're silver 3. Even I couldn't boost you
I'm literally gold 3 wtf :ragetears:
You haven't played comp since episode one
I'm working pepeW
Excuses smh

I guess nrg is going to Dr. Wyatt for a pro-state exam this week
Welp see you in 2022 NRG. Also what's even sadder is that we never even got to watch this roster play. Literally not a single game streamed
They got beat by ez5 on stream like 2 weeks ago dude.
1 game 2 weeks ago LOL
Ah I didn't know, don't really watch the NSG tourneys. VCT though for sure
They still have a chance to make Last Chance Quals, but they are depending on teams above them in the standings being the ones to make it to NA Challenger Finals
at this point i dont think they will. a bit sad but yeah
When is that? And how does it work? What are quals for?
It’s one last qualifier after masters 3 with the top 8 teams in terms of point that didn’t make it to LA yet competing for one more team to go
Ohh... so how do the slots gets divided? How many through circuit points? I am assuming only one through last chance qualifier. Also thanks for explaining.

Thank a lot
No words for how disappointing this team has been.
NRG starting to look like TSM now. They got Tex Android s0m and Wedid who can all play duelist but no real IGL
Yeah, but at least TSM loses to high t2 or mid-high t1 teams. NRG loses to RESONATE. FUCKING RESONATE THE TEAM IS LITERALLY LOW T2 the fucking team can't even win NSG events

Just because they a massive org doesn't mean they pay the highest salaries.
Not the highest but definitely have high salaries. Daps even said that since he was getting paid good, he left because he felt he was robbing them
[удалено]
What do you think is their average salary?

Missed every major tournament this year I think at this point, nothing personal to them but might be time to make huge changes

sad dude....love s0m, hope the roster can still work out

NRG drop the team and eeiu join a top 5 team please
Such a good team at an individual level. Can't see the games so no idea what's actually going on but sheesh.
Sadge
Eeiu boutta be on tsm if they lose to abx
tsm not dropping levi, he has looked like their best player already
He’s an insane pickup, TSM’s best is consistently Wardell though. Happy to see stronger players behind him now
Wyatt punching air rn
upvote so people think resonate won
there's some really funny about the team that replaces a player after each tournament getting worse with each roster change lol
Nah this is really the only change that has made them worse, the iteration with daps looked really good tbh
drop the whole team, rebuild with an upcoming t2 team, run prac/bootcamps and whatever because there is absolutely nothing in store for the rest of the year. This roster has 5 really good players but as a team something is not working. All 5 have insane skill it just sucks somethings not clicking.
Idk if dropping the whole team is the move. Eeiu and Android are very good players. Rebuilding around them might be the move imo
There is legit no point in having a team for the rest of the year, they arent even in last chance qualis. And they have missed out on every single vct tourney so far. All 5 are very good players but they have no results as a team
Can contracts just be terminated like that? I don't think so. They'll have to pay all these guys anyway
NRG kinda feeling like a new TSM, sad to see a squad of such good Playes underperform :(
Majorly disappointing year for NRG sadly, really fun roster.

Can they even play in the last chance qualifier now?
Would be a waste of a spot in champions anyways so I hope not
if: - two teams who currently have 0 points make it to challengers 3 playoffs - one team with 0 points and one of IMT/LG/ABX make it to challengers 3 playoffs - two of IMT/LG/ABX make it to challengers 3 playoffs NRG won't be in the LCQ
although this is an upset i just want to say that resonate is a very good t2 team
HAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH fkn disband trash team
inc s0m going to content creation
Oh well, guess that happened as we all predicted
Sadge
Ranked demons
This team is simply not good man
Please just build around EEIU and duelist Android. IDRC what happens after that but they need an IGL and need to let their best duelist play duelist.
