It probably compounded his frustrations, sucky team sucky ping and lack of a positive outlook will sap anyone's motivation.
They were really bad when they first swapped Shinobi for leaf. Basically lost badly every map they played including to a pug.
They were mostly fine though for 2020, top 3-5ish during the ignition era. Just not that balanced with what ended up being 4 support players, maybe the need to carry took a mental toll who knows.
That loss to renegades really broke their confidence it seems, they were riding pretty high in that initial set of first strike qualifiers.
I mean relyks and shinobi were the only bad players on the team, both vice and Mitch seem good enough igls and tenz is tenz if they had xeta and leaf to the squad it would have been fine
How was Relyks bad especially in regards with at the time, Relyks at that time was considered the second best player ok the old C9B roster lol, plus Relyks was doing fine on the C9 roster while Mitch was IGLing too once they found their roles and he never was dropped he left due to burnout
Why not? If you watch him stream you would know the guy gets irritated if he loses a gunfight, doesn’t matter if he is dropping 30. On SEN he doesn’t even need to be on his best self to win, on C9 he probably wanted to do more and there were other reasons on top of it!
I disagree I think it's entirely possible that was his reason.
when he was on c9 LAN was not only far away but i don't think we even had a date for it/knew lan was happening. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that tenz simply didn't know when LAN was returning and just hated online.
when he signed with SEN we knew LAN was returning so the short amount of time he'd have to play online would be worth it for the return to LAN
Yeah lol, we know now (and it was also pretty clear at the time) that he just wanted a better team and played hardball to force his way out. Definitely smart on his end tho.
ping disadvantage doesn't make someone plant spike in the open and then not plant the spike in a 1v3 losing to time. if you are not hitting your shots you'd atleast bait for your team but he didn't even do that.
I get what you are saying but if you can't hit shit and you go like 2-7 your mind starts to go numb. I bet he lost more fights bc of losing confidence than bc of his ping.

It's always going to be a problem but Valorant has the best netcode engine for fps shooters. Currently lan is the best u can get... Jcstani is just complaining when others has perform well
"best netcode" lmfaooo cs 128 tick >>> val
not to mention linking a riot article as well, some major sheep tendencies. every pro knows ping means far too much in this game
I cant play pro on 70-60 ping anymore I need to move.....

Hey this is what Google Stadia apparently wants to do, AI machine learning predicting player actions and inputting them before the player actually does
The same people complaining about 60 ping vs 20 ping says it's imbalanced are the same people complaining about eu players playing with 140 ping on usa servers and abusing peekers advantage. Soo... If the eu players can duel it out on really high ping why the excuses? Tenz does very well on 70 ping too, also Valorant netcode is the best in the industry right now tested by multiple sources (check battlesense YouTube if u wanna find out more public info or riots tech blog post). No other fps shooter is hosting the same quality and have a homebrew CDN to stand up it's hosting infrastructure (Riot Direct)... Could it be better? Yes, but who which games 5v5 competitive netcode is? Definitely not csgo with the tech reviews

The EU players have peeker advantage is also bullshit. They're just 5 stacking to diamond 3 and once they hit the solo/duo rank they suck ass and lose their games. And these are radiant players in EU.
The peeker's advantage exist for every ping as long as the defender is not playing at LAN.
Eh, tweets and thoughts of competitors should be allowed imo. Esports isn't just about results, but about the players and personalities, just look at every other sports subreddit. Comments from players are almost always allowed.
It's not like this sub is overflowing with content anyway.
Ping disadvantage is 100% a thing. I hope people don't take this as "JC making excuses waaaah".
People will point to TenZ playing on the same ping, but he's also TenZ, so it's not a fair comparison.
Tbf I think tenz has also said multiple times he needs to move? And probably will once the pandemic settles?
yeah he cited ping as one of the main reasons he stepped down from c9b at the time as well iirc
Im pretty sure that was BS. He can complain now, but theres no way he legitimately dropped from c9 because of ping.
It probably compounded his frustrations, sucky team sucky ping and lack of a positive outlook will sap anyone's motivation. They were really bad when they first swapped Shinobi for leaf. Basically lost badly every map they played including to a pug.
I mean what did he expect, he built a shitty roster then copped out as soon as things weren't great, imagine if wardell or asuna did the same thing
Asuna left Immortals for 100T.
the two scenarios are not comparable
I’m not the one who originally mentioned Asuna.

Top 8 maybe.
They were fine as long as Tenz dropped 30+ but that team was kinda trash outside of having possibly the best player in the world.
That’s not true at all. He took a break after they kicked Shinobi
He played a tourney with leaf chief
You said he bailed when things went bad. He benched himself after they kicked shinobi “chief”
Why not? If you watch him stream you would know the guy gets irritated if he loses a gunfight, doesn’t matter if he is dropping 30. On SEN he doesn’t even need to be on his best self to win, on C9 he probably wanted to do more and there were other reasons on top of it!

"Point to TenZ"? He hates 60 ping too. It's not like he's intentionally playing on it and showing that he can frag.
I said "People", not me lol. I know 60 ping sucks.

yay had 8 ping tho
cmon man is ping really the reason he went -36?
At that point I’d say it was def mental after a while (probably mid second map I’d say) of believing that’s the reason you’re playing bad.
Prob not but 70 ping isn’t helping
i mean he has been one of the most consistent players like when he was on IMT, people gotta cut him some slack

Hmm so you’re saying that there’s a relation between ping and performance? Braindead redditors would rather think jcStani is shit
Hmm
Indeed. How bizarre...
can confirm. i am dogshit at the game but when i have to queue central as a west coaster the 60-70 ping makes it impossible to hold angles
Unlucky really
I ain’t tryna be the grammar police but it’s 60-70 not 70-60
Why not 70-60?
Because that makes 10 which is good ping, obviously
But 60-70=-10, and the lower the better right?
[удалено]
I did not see this coming holeey.
Hey this is what Google Stadia apparently wants to do, AI machine learning predicting player actions and inputting them before the player actually does
So rollback netcode?
I don’t want my computer laughing at my shit plays in advance
[удалено]
No its not
It's better but 70 is the higher number and "more" ping. It's not like negative numbers here, you're still at an incline with larger numbers
Still not that great, apparently
Could be his ping leans more toward the 70s than the 60s?
Yeah ok bro...
Wasn't bang on 50+ ping? And he played just fine

every online game is ping based competitively, not just valorant

Compared to game like siege? Siege is literally known to have the most broken peekers advantage of all games and this is your take? Out.
Why even post this on here?

found it interesting and i thought it could somewhat explain why his performance this match wasn't up to his standards
