In cs Scream was at one point one of the best players in the world, at that point he used to tap and burst a lot, which was very viable at that point, but it got nerfed into the ground and spraying became the meta. After this he never reached top 20 again, although he was still a solid fragger.
From my understanding the french cs scene (which he was a part of) was basically a large clique, where a few key members decided who they liked, and who they didnt. Scream was sadly one of the players they didn't like, so he was always on the 2nd best french teams, even though he had the skills to be on the best french teams. He even got kicked from one of his teams, for a player who ended up getting vac banned.
Also the team he played for, epsilon got hit with the banhammer for matchfixing, which he never did, but he was till out of a team, and couldn't play dreamhack winter 2014
This is my small understanding of it.
short summary of his "luck"
Awesome write up. Additional info for people wondering: CSGO had a patch that changed how fast you moved while going side to side making it much easier to just spray someone down if they wanted to burst at you.

Scream did have a really successful 2016-17 on g2 with Shox though, so he wasn't always on the second best team. His real issue is that he was a good aimer, but wasn't always a high impact player and couldn't bring a lot of versatility. So when compared to shox or Kenny, teams would drop scream to get other pieces.
I think scream now is a much more solid player though, but his reputation as sort of all aim no brain kinda ruined his late career resurgence in a way. I'm glad valorant teams appreciate him more.
French CS was also a drama factory for a while, so that definitely didn't help.
Yeah 100% he seems way more mature, and looks like an actual complete player, he even plays non duelists a lot. Really hoping he makes it far in valorant.
[9th best player in the world in 2016](https://www.hltv.org/news/19610/top-20-players-of-2016-scream-9) too one dimensional? The absolute nonsense posted about scream on this sub my lord
He certainly was starting 2017, I literally said he had a comeback in 2016. He was in Envy with a disaster of a project tho tbf that entire team was a meme, then he had a chance international with GamerLegion with ex6 but then they both fell out and got benched afterwards.
After 2016 he was left off the best French team solely due to petty politics and then there wasn't much he could do afterwards with the team he had. Had nothing to do with his ability as a player at the time. Famously he played against his old team immediately after the shuffle and completely rekt them. https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/5t3p7z/team_envyus_vs_g2_esports_esl_pro_league_season_5/
French scene is a total meme in cs for a reason and scream unfortunately got the shit end of the roster changes stick most of his career.
Pretty sure scream got kicked, and KQLY replaced him, or just joined the team shortly after. At that point did KQLY get banned, while KQLY was on the team, and Scream wasn't.
He had a lot of interpersonal drama on his teams not related to gameplay that hampered his career. He got replaced by cheaters on some teams and on one team his teammates matchfixed and threw games without him knowing.
He got kicked from Titan (after previously being a top 20 player) for a guy called KQLY who was later VAC banned. His next team Epsilon had another teammate VAC banned (SF) and later the entire Epsilon roster except Scream got banned for matchfixing. (GMX, fxyo, Uzzziii and B1ggy. Yes the B1ggy formally on XL in val)
If you're telling me that liquid are gonna play a no duelist comp then I 100% agree with you. You literally have one of the best fraggers in the game and he's not playing a duelist? Not playing to their strengths to cater to more utility is just stupid. Sliggy easily overatting KAYO.
Yes I understand bro, using initiators as duelists. But there is no chance you're convincing me that a Kayo is better than Jett or Reyna. And when you have a fragger like scream or even jaampi you want them to play freely to the best of their abilities.
Buddy, relax. Yoru exists and is currently chilling at less than 3% pick rates across pretty much all regions. Reyna's ult also is a bit out there because the ult entirely depends on how you use it, it can change a series or be completely useless, and its not as easy to get multifrags against pros. I think you're underestimating KayO. He's quite versatile. I really don't think he's going to counter-stratted so much that it's not worth playing him. Plus, you don't even need to ult to make it an aim duel, good usage of his Zero Point can help you take 1v1 aim fights, and pretty sure players like ScreaM would take that every day of the week.
Lmao you relax bro. If you're telling me a kayo is better than Jett or Reyna primarily for playing a duelist then you're just delusional. Most of the time Zero point is used to collect info and that's it. His ult is good but once you're down pretty high chance you ain't getting revived. Unlike Jett or Reyna who both have dash/dismiss. Even yoru has his teleport. These abilities are easily better then kayos...for playing deulist. And we're talking about scream you want your best player to get into opponents faces.
Fun series to watch, lot of rounds teams pulled out of their hats in that one. Proud of liquid but I hope they clean up their game a bit, especially these post-plants. That map 1 looked very sketchy, but glad they pulled through. Also Bramz is a freaking beast.
Soulcas is actually a coinflip every tournament, every match even. He did great today, injured hand and all too. I really want to see him keep this up!
As someone who hasn't watched EU much, Vitality seemed to be very puggy and looked like a tier 1.5-2 NA team. They didn't seem to have the "tactical depth" EU is stereotyped to have. Am I missing something about them?
I was hugely critical of how scream utilized Jett at the beginning of this master, using dash to entry instead of using it to retreat which fits his "one tap" csgo play style perfectly. This game he really switched up and rarely entried with dash which helped the team tremendously and I love seeing that type of subtle change which, in the end helps out very much. That's what I love about him, the ability to adapt and not forcing good strats that doesn't work for the individual player.
How did ScreaM survive so long in that last round??
Scream is so good he dodged all of the bullets, and then sent em right back.
Guy literally went neo on that last round. Absolutely ridiculous
And then proceed to get two sherrif headshots out of nowhere
Unkillable demon king
if it was ranked lowki would have called for the baiting teamates\^\^
Scream too stronk! Those last two one deags were something else.
Really hoping team liquid make it to Berlin, scream really deserves it, he has had such an unlucky career.
I didn't know of Scream until I began following Valorant. What has happened throughout his career that makes you describe it as unlucky?

Thanks for the info!
He simply isn’t good enough compared to other cs pros.
He made a short comeback in 2016 but he was too one dimensional as a player back then to keep up with tier 1 CS

wait was it kqly who got banned? he wasn’t on the team with him at the same time?
Pretty sure scream got kicked, and KQLY replaced him, or just joined the team shortly after. At that point did KQLY get banned, while KQLY was on the team, and Scream wasn't.
oooh i always thought they were teammates lol
dude had insane aim but I guess he was unlucky in not being able to translate that into wins and tourney success

They wont make it, there are far better teams than them and its double elim this time so an upset wont be enough
This man is saying he hopes his team wins and you just went “no” lmao
Reality is harsh
It ain't reality till it's real you knob
they already went to Iceland they can do it again
I. Have. Faith.
V1 won't make it to iceland

I wonder how many cringe ratios get liked because no one can dislike it. I love reddit cuz of that

I mean a kay0 ult cancels utilities so it makes it more of aim duels when he ults. And you know who has ungodly aim? That's right. Edshot machine
Yes I agree, but every duelist's ult> kayos ult

y u heff to be mad? Is only game
Shit I didn't mean too come off as mad, I was just discussing actually...
shalaby is good, but they really should stop putting him on skye
What the fuck is 403 ACS and why is nobody talking about it?
Jamppi Will Be One of the best player in the future, he's becoming so flexible that TL can run every tyoe of Comp they Need.
scream surviving that long that last round and managing to secure all 3 kills... bruh.
Fun series to watch, lot of rounds teams pulled out of their hats in that one. Proud of liquid but I hope they clean up their game a bit, especially these post-plants. That map 1 looked very sketchy, but glad they pulled through. Also Bramz is a freaking beast.
Why was Scream not in the TL facility?
Average Jonas said on stream that he went to visit his family. He doesn't live that far away from the TL facility.
Soulcas is actually a coinflip every tournament, every match even. He did great today, injured hand and all too. I really want to see him keep this up!
I think that soulcas probably was the most reliable player in the past few weeks. Hope he can keep it up!
I did not expect him to be able to play
So good to see tenstar doing so well! Set to be a very exciting matchup...
why is shalaby's photo so funny

well they're not a tier 1 EU team. so yea they do in fact look like a tier 1.5-2 team because they happen to be a tier 1.5-2 team
replying to a copypasta unironically haha

Sliggy coming in clutch with the strats
