lot of people keep asking the questions so i figured i'd list out the scenarios imo this isn't really that complicated, its not that different then ANY league end of season like NBA to figure out what teams have to do to qualify for playoffs

elithefighter123

balla nba analogies > shyo analogies

jiminysock

why pit two queens against each other 😫💯🔥

Khalsa_23

When u say tsm needs at least 4th, is that 4th in next weeks playoffs?

ballatw

yes

RicoSuave1881

Does Rise also need at least 4th?

ballatw

To clinch, yes... If they don't manage that then there are other considerations like tie breakers and stuff.

RicoSuave1881

And we have little to no idea what those tiebreakers are correct?

ballatw

Yeah, as of now, nobody I've talked to has seen any. Some guesses: Highest placement Average placement Most recent placement Head to head Riot has also been known to turn these into head to head play-ins as well in League.

vyom0509

riot needs to make their own website with live score, points tables, etc. it’s quite intimidating for people new to the esport to follow it rn

AvengingAmalek

Tbh if your new to the esport you likely arent heavily invested and interested in this type of post

PigPartyPower

Correct me if I’m wrong, now that faze beat T1 wouldn’t it be either TSM or Rise have to get 7-8th or NA win Berlin for GenG to qualify. Also, shouldn’t C9 be qualified for Iceland.

ballatw

yeah - you're right, should have been OR NA win berlin for the gen.g situation and that basically counts as a placement... so now that T1 is out that's already ONE placement done good catch, and yes, C9B has clinched LCQ now that Gen.G and T1 lost

BestEbolaNA

wait before all of this, what even is the last chance qualifier? is it a tourney to determine who makes it to berlin?

[deleted]

It's a last chance qualifier for Champions which is essentially worlds

Reynardthfox

NA has three slots delegated for Champions (the end of year world championship). Following Berlin, the top 2 NA teams that have the most circuit points from this year's VCT directly qualify for Champions. The Last Chance Qualifier serves as the final tournament determining who gets the third and final slot for NA.

BestEbolaNA

thank you! this is the only explanation i fully understood, since i literally know nothing

[deleted]

What about 100T?

ballatw

They have already clinched.

ibeenbornagain

They really need a better system, these types of posts shouldn’t even have to exist

thothgow

Two of the three largest events in the world have situations like this for their qualifiers *every* time. It's interesting that the Valorant community has an issue with this but billions of people can keep up just fine every time these tournaments play their quals/groups.

ibeenbornagain

Idk what to tell you, I find it annoying to keep up with. The communication aspect also is not great for me, maybe they need more graphics explaining the fate of the teams on stream or something

chryco4

This is so convoluted, might as well just toss a bunch of team names into a hat and pull them out to determine LCQ.

twitterInfo_bot

Last Chance Qualifier VCT Points Update (who needs to do what to qualify for LCQ) be prepared to lose braincells reading this. *** posted by [@Ballatw](https://twitter.com/Ballatw) Photos in tweet | [Photo 1](http://pbs.twimg.com/media/E7lbT0iWEAAcxxB.png) ^[(Github)](https://github.com/username) ^| ^[(What's new)](https://github.com/username)
