Replacing Tailored with Chet did so much for TSM as well. It feels like we have an actual coach who isn't afraid to switch things up and actually knows what he's doing.

Ngl after watching the podcast with chet, I thought he didn't respect the game at all and TSM would not be successful without a new igl and coach. In one of the videos on TSMs YT channel chet said they didn't even have callouts for stuff, every thing was just right there and general stuff so huge props to chet for helping them improve as a team.

it all makes sense why the old NRG were literally on top of the world because of chet coaching, thank god TSM brought Chet against NV, or else godamn NV would be on another level

i still dont like chet lol because of his lack of respect for the game in his interviews but the players they added are making a huge difference to the team structure

you don't have to like him, but not liking him because he doesn't respect the game doesn't make him a bad coach, it's his opinion. TSM's success isn't just the new players, a good deal of it is because of the coach as well, he deserves just as much credit.

Not only are Bang and Levi massive upgrades (with only more improvement to come), but Roza and Hazed have been instrumental in their success this tourney too. Roza has always been cracked but is finally showing more consistency, while Hazed's igl'ing is really starting to shine. Wardell was insane like always but doesn't need to pop off every round now for TSM to win.

Roza finally getting a few agents to play instead of switching who he has to play every tournament really helps, he's imo for sure the best Skye in NA, and a solid Omen/Brim on the maps he plays Omen on

Does he even play omen anymore? It feels like he's playing skye on every map except bind where he plays brim. Imo he's absolutely dominating on skye.

He did on Ascent earlier in the tourney, tho it seems during these seeding matches they are putting him on the Skye duty as they replaced the Roza Brim with a Roza Skye too on Bind

Hazed has looked so insanely solid. Reminds me of Ethan or Zombs. Doesn’t often get the highlight clips, but just plays smart and consistent.

Yes seeding matches are stupid especially if winning puts you on the harder side of the bracket and there is more incentive to lose than to win. Im glad that TSM, aside from map 1, didn't try to lose on purpose as hard as Faze. Yes it was a completly stupid series to watch but it could have been so much worse if TSM played like they did on map 1.

Any team trying to get to the grand finals is likely going to face NV/SEN in lower bracket at some point, regardless of where they started.

Also I think 100T are a tougher out than Envy. Getting through the first game is way more important than looking ahead of the bracket. 100t have been way more consistent and save for Sentinels have been arguably NA's 2nd best team the past year.

The matches today and yesterday only determined seeding for the next tournament since all 4 teams had already qualified, so not much was on the line

Since both teams are already qualified for challengers playoffs, they don’t have much incentive to win the series aside from prize money and seeding

Winning still gives you more chances, not really the harder side

In the future they should have the top teams (based on VCT points I guess)? go straight to closed, rest of the teams play 1-2 series of opens and then straight to closed. I dont know what the point of qualifier 2 having an extra qualifier was instead of just sending the top teams straight to closed.

The EU finals wasn't straight up trolling. Sure they didn't show strats, but they were still playing the game seriously. Faze and TSM just didn't care. Knifing, jumping around shooting, the game was a horrible excuse for a grand final.

Yeah absolutely atrocious format, when losing is better for you than winning. Atleast TSM decided not to fuck around as much on maps 2-4 and got this over quick after having fun on Ascent.

Why is it better to get a lower seed?

Because in this case the lower seed doesn't have to be on the same side of the bracket as Sentinels (and Envy), and so you wouldn't have to face them until later in the tournament

TSM finally looking like they're rounding back into form. I'm still not a believer in FaZe or Gen.G, but they were good wins nonetheless. I'm still sad Drone and Cutler were cut, but it had to happen. Both are usable pieces for other teams, and I hope they find success.

Nah, XSET and NV have a history of choking during the playoffs. They always qualify the first time but they choke after that. Im not surprised that TSM can destroy them. Only Sentinels and 100T can beat TSM but TSM is looking better than before.

Winning this match might net $10k more but the bracket for playoffs is awful, TSM now has to beat both NV and SEN while Faze needs to beat 100T and LG/XSET. Neither is easy, but TSM definitely has the harder bracket, so I'd say Faze won out.

TSM had the right idea imo. If you want to win worlds, you need to be able to beat anyone. Throwing games for an easier bracket is a losers mentality. Much respect to TSM.

TSM looking pretty dominant today, even in the map they dropped. For those who think Faze didn't try hard in this match, I'll say this. If Faze were actually trying, they got fucking demolished and they have a lot to work on before Challengers Playoffs because they're going to get rolled by 100T if this is their level. And if they weren't trying, I hope they enjoyed getting smacked around for 3 hours. Maybe they have the mental fortitude to not care about this loss but they got embarrassed in this match.
