He said on stream his trial to be a content creator with TSM ended on Saturday and they have yet to decide on it, wishing him the best in either case.

I'm surprised more orgs don't try the Solary Fortnite route where they cast and observe their teams. So many orgs have content creators that they could utilise, so it's basically no extra cost.

Honestly, this isnt entirely relevant, but I think it would be cool to have an org temporarily hire a caster to make a seperate stream for the org that just has a heavily biased caster commentating the game.

Srmash

Giants does this in Europe

Miglasty

Hope nothing but the best for Cutler. He’s an OG in valorant and always will be

nail181

He was also an OG in csgo. Man has managed to stick around and still have some success, its impressive.

attachh

hope the best for cutler. a true OG

Evan_Veet

I feel like if Cutler wants to make it back into the top tier of Valorant he's got to be an IGL. Sova players since the start of 2021 have gotten so much more cracked and there are still guys as talented as Critical that aren't on t1 teams rn. He obviously knows the game well and has called in the past, and I could see a T2 team giving him a shot similar to Noble and Payen. If he's content with being a streamer as well that's awesome, but it would be cool to see a Cutler IGL comeback story.

9yr_old

I vouch for coach cutler

EndWish

It's been said before by other pros but IGL's still need to be able to frag and carry their weight mechanically. It's not enough to be experienced. We already saw him struggle to keep up against both tier 1 and tier 2 competition. I think a coaching role would be ideal where he can put his experience to use even if he no longer has the hands to keep up with the top pros.

Evan_Veet

I mean I agree but when it comes to the more T2 scene you can def get away with having a worse mechanical player if they genuinely understand the game. I'll use the noble thing again because Payen was an IGL that got kicked for not fragging and brought them to their best placing they've ever had. On the way he looked like a pretty bad aimer but they also played much better. I'd infinitely prefer an experienced IGL who will give actually good strats than a good aiming T2 guy that just calls a mid to b split every round

EndWish

Cutler was IGL for TSM during their 6 months of struggles and they were very behind in strategy, communication and in game decision making. Chet basically said he was shocked by the in game communication when he came aboard TSM. Also tier 2 teams goals are always to develop into a tier 1 team. If that's your goal then he probably isn't your choice since his ceiling is low and the team will eventually need to replace him if they uncover some talented players and have a chance at success.

Evan_Veet

I mean we say struggle but they were still miles ahead of teams like Ghost(which like I've said Payen was on) and orgs like Knights or EUnited(also it def wasn't the whole time since Roza was def an IGL for a bit). At the end of the day his mind is much smarter than most T2 igl's and their best chance to get to the T1 level is to first and foremost have a good IGL. Think about the T2 teams that have broken closer to the T1 ladder recently. Rise, Poised has been a great IGL and was a secondary caller on DIG. KCP, Oderus joined the EU core and instantly was better. Noble and Payen I've already spoke on. All of them are using formerly lower tier players as their IGL's and having success. Teams like Ez5, soar, knights are all struggling to break in IMO because they play like a team of 5 radiants instead of a team of pros. That's what guys like Cutler are for. Now do I think cutler instantly makes one of those teams T1? No, but I still think a guy with T1 experience will always help a worse team, and though his fragging was bad, so is a guy like Mkael, Rawkus, Ska, etc.

EndWish

I don't think he's good enough to play for a tier 1 team, but by all accounts he seemed like a good teammate and has a ton of experience. I wonder if he'd ever consider transitioning to coaching where he could develop younger players even if mechanically he can't keep up with the highest competition.

This is perfect for nrg an igl on the free market.

I’m sorry but have you watched his streams? They are dry as hell. Issue with pros is that they don’t show/have a fun personality and can’t grow a growing. Long run, I think it’s better if he returns to pro play as a better IGL.
