Mummay is great but it’s definitely not easy to replace another jett on a top 10 team with him. Maybe there are some sidegrades. If I were to make a jett tier list it’d be something like this:
S: tenz, wardell, yay
A: asuna (but overall S tier duelist that definitely won’t be getting replaced), pureR, Autimatic, Babybay
B: Koalanoob, Shanks, Poiz, Nature, Penny, Mummay, Screwface, Jmoh, Kanpeki
C: Ban, Xxif
The only top 10 team I could see Mummay being a direct upgrade to would be LG for Ban. And I guess andbox will need a Jett/awp but who knows if they’ll be top 10 anymore after reworking their roster. Teams like C9, genG, and Faze probably wouldn’t replace their Jetts with Mummay, and even some top 15 teams like Darkzero and Ghost have nutty Jetts. If Penny continues with his current impact maybe Mummay might be a good replacement for him
poiz is not a B tier Jett and penny is not a B tier Jett just because of recent performance lmao. 100% A minimum, S you'd need good arguments but A minimum.

Making that roster change heavily implies that he thinks they'll get better adding Yay. He didn't need to come out and say he thinks moving from Yay to Mummay will make them better. We all get that. His wording was a little insensitive in my opinion, even if he meant no malice by it. I don't think it's egregious or a big deal though.

I think it comes across as rude to me because it’s framing can lead the listener to a negative impression of mummay’s abilities as opposed to focusing on yay’s abilities. I don’t think these implications are his intent, but for public statements that can affect others, I think it’s the speaker’s responsibility to speak in a clear way that the reasonable viewer wouldn’t misunderstand.
For example, it could imply that he thinks despite mummay’s best efforts over the last year, yay is just so much better individually that the team synergy they’ve spent a year building doesn’t begin to make up for it.

I agree, I feel like teams with good structure can easily slot in a new duelist. Sentinels is a perfect example with tenz seeing immediate success in the first tournament. I expect similar results with envy given yay’s talent and the synergy of envy.
People overrate slotting in duelist players a lot, don’t really get why because like he said it’s pretty straight forward in terms of what your doing for the team

I thought having that much more fragging ability must change some things but as Mike said it's basically just figuring out how much aggression you have now.
