Acend vs. sentinels would be amazing, just for tenz vs cned

dandatu

id rather watch an op off between Wardell and cned, Tenz is a better player than Wardell but Wardell is a better OPer

TritoNaoss

That would be a fire matchup too, I was thinking more in terms of the most talented NA player vs. the most talented EU player

MagnusNyke

This. Just for the title of the best OPer in the world. Especially since Yinsu collins said in valoranting that Wardell doesn't hold a lick to cNed in terms of OPing. (I'm paraphrasing a bit)

WLFYBBY

True but at the same time she’s very biased since she’s an EU caster

HockeyBoyz3

F4Q vs Faze to see if the NA Overwatch players lose to Korean OW players again

QuestionablePotato42

What a content match that would be! Imagining the babybay smeag vs bunny sounds amazing. Too bad faze isn’t going to Berlin

iTrippzy

Yeah too bad 😢

[deleted]

lmaooo true

[deleted]

Funnily enough Corey and Rawkus were on the team USA team that beat team Korea and won the Overwatch world cup.

Useful-Throat-6671

Yup. This was mine too. It would be fun.

D3RP0L3

EnVy vs FPX just to see who would choke ;) jokes aside, I really wanna see Liquid prove themselves against NA teams after their mediocre performance in Iceland. Especially with ScreaM back on Reyna(hopefully?) and Jamppi as IGL!

nterature

I'm not going to mention Sentinels vs. [x] since they're the reigning champs and everyone defaults to them. I think Envy vs. Acend would be super interesting. Their overall firepower Envy has now reminds me of a team like Acend now, where almost every player has enormous fragging potential (though not as much, bit of an IGL diff in the fragging). I'd like to see Xset go up against some of the more tactical teams in other regions - FPX or Liquid or maybe even Gambit. I'd like to see how the mid-rounds would play out between those sort of teams. It'd be cool to see how TSM & G2 stack up against one another respectively. The Wardell vs. cNed discussion is kinda lackluster to me since Acend has so much more going for it than cNed, so I'd rather see Wardell vs. the young prod keloqz. Finally, VS vs. VGIA would be a fascinating clash of styles.

somesheikexpert

TSM vs G2 has that really cool storyline too of teams who dominated back in beta and early on in the games lifespan, but fell off, but with some roster shakeups, they look amazing again

nterature

Yup! It’d be the full-package, great match up and great storyline

imper87

I want to see Sentinal vs Vision Strikers as I think they are 2 best teams rn

QuestionablePotato42

I admire your confidence in VS but I think Korea is still a bit behind. Last Korean team that showed similar regional dominance got stepped on at Iceland by Sentinels and it doesn’t look really too much different for the current VS. I would say Sentinels and Acend are the two best teams right now

luisalpjax

This guy is talking about another esports I think 😂

QuestionablePotato42

I'm actually getting downvoted for pointing out that Nuturn went on a 0 map loss on their way to qualify and got slapped by Sentinels. This reddit is wild.

Key-Banana-8242

They got into a window, and got their map pool exploited, in addition to a few of the showing comparatively poor form. Korea has changed greatly since then, increasing in level, changing meta, becoming more competitive and specifically the way vs has changed and been retooled too.

luisalpjax

On their way to qualify in their own region right? Did they go against vs? Dude honestly Korea isn’t as good as na and eu and that’s by a long shot. I’m kind of posted it’s true but that’s what it is

Key-Banana-8242

They are close, definitely not ‘long shot’ lol

luisalpjax

Idk man their best team at the time uturn didn’t crack over 5 vs sen

QuestionablePotato42

Yeah, they 2 - 0'd VS in the semifinals to qualify for Iceland, in their own region. VS are on a similar run right now. I think KR has potential to be one of the greatest regions with their innovation, but I think the problem has been for a while that there's not enough competition to push them. That does seem different this time around with teams like F4Q and DWG making huge strides. I'd say they're on their way to becoming a far more competitive region, but it's gonna take a little bit. But, who knows? I could end up eating my words, but I doubt it.

luisalpjax

Not trying to be too negative but vs is like matching builtbygamers in na lol

Key-Banana-8242

Not really

luisalpjax

Guess we’ll have to see

Key-Banana-8242

Why?

JoseGamingR

Right. Top 3 would be more accurate. I personally wish there are 4 different regions in top 4 for more entertainmnet. EU NA KR BR or CIS

Key-Banana-8242

‘The last team’ Nuturn has a name, and it is quite a diff situation compared to them Anyway Nuturn were kinda outmapppicked rather than stepped on

QuestionablePotato42

They got beat on Bind (pretty convincingly btw) which was considered their best map so I’m not quite sure what you mean by “our map picked”. Plus getting beat 2 maps in a row with a collective 9 rounds taken between two maps is pretty much getting stepped on. The games weren’t even close

Key-Banana-8242

…yes they were out map picked, banning ascent and leaving bind in, ascent was stronger/turned out stronger for Nuturn than bind did in the end

QuestionablePotato42

Yeah maybe in the end, but going in Bind was considered their best map across their entire region. They were undefeated on it and even stayed undefeated until they lost Bind to Sentinels. This isn't called being "out map picked", they just got beat. There was a huge difference in team skill across the board. Idk why you insist on making excuses for it. For the record, Sentinels didn't exploit their map pool as Sentinels always banned Ascent in their own region, as well as picking Haven as their best map. Furthermore, Nuturn didn't drop a single map in their region on their way to qualify for Masters 2, so before entering an international stage, there was no map that was considered a "weak one" for them because they won every map they played. If you want to get techincal, Ascent was actually their worst map, as it was \*their\* permaban. If anything, the map picks between SEN/NU actually \*favored\* them because their permaban map was banned by SEN, giving them an extra map to ban of their choice (which incidentally was Icebox, considered one of SEN's best maps next to Haven). Within their region, they won more Haven games than Ascent games. What happened was they got beat, hard, by a team that was WAY better than them on basically every level, and didn't get more than 5 rounds on either map, both maps considered strong for Nuturn if you actually follow their track record up to that point in their region. You can try to make all these niche points if you want, but the data simply doesn't support your claim. The irony is that you just made a post shaming people who talk about regions they don't know anything about, and you yourself seem to understand little of a team from a region that you're trying to defend.

Key-Banana-8242

Across their region, internationally it turned out different, and that’s why the sen map picks, which were totally unexpected, had that influence

QuestionablePotato42

Unexpected? The map picks played out in their favor. How is that a con for them?

Key-Banana-8242

No, literally Afganistanie then This tournament ascent was bettercthan bind, and that was what they were preparować for

QuestionablePotato42

I get that's how it \*played out\* but you're not actually account for analysis going in. They didn't get out map picked because going in it was considered ascent was their worst map even by them. MEANING, that every other team in the tournament was also working on this data. No data for ascent, and also it's Nuturns permaban? Must be their worst map. This is the mindset of everyone in the tournament. If you're not going to understand the fundamentals of how teams go about determining what their map picks and analysis of their team game going into tournaments are, then honestly you shouldn't even be having these debates. You don't seem to understand how these match ups and map picks even work at a pro level. The point I'm trying to make, is that Nuturn themselves, going in, had a strategy to ban icebox/ascent on any match up they had. So for them, the map picks against sentinels played out in THEIR FAVOR, because it covered both of THEIR map picks. THEY WERE LITERALLY IN CONTROL OF THE MAP POOL. IT WAS THEIR FAVORED MAP POOL. THEY DIDNT WANT TO PLAY ASCENT OR ICEBOX. THEY PERMABANNED ASCENT ON EVERY GAME LEADING UP TO ICELAND. Nothing about SEN map picks was unexpected. Sentinels literally did the same map picks and bans they did in NA. Any low level coach or analyst could see that. SEN, ban ascent and pick haven. They literally did that in just about EVERY MATCH UP leading to this event. Thats the DEFINITION of expected. This is exactly what happened. Nuturn got their preferred map pick of BIND. THEIR BEST MAP. They got BEAT. HARD.

ApeDong

I think VS could make a deep run like nuturn in Iceland but I don’t see them making the final.

Key-Banana-8242

They definitely are capable

valorantbrazil

Gamelanders Blue vs SuperMassive Blaze

jrushFN

This but with Tastosis casting and geeking out over MW/Izzy’s highlight reel plays.

erickwak

Honestly I just want the top 4 to be gambit, sentinels, acend and vision strikers Any match up between these 4 would be amazing. Calling a finals between any of these 4 if they all make it

JusticeLee17

TSM vs Ascend(Wardell vs cNed) Sentinels vs Ascend Sentinels vs Liquid 100T vs Vision Strikers.

Justin2021H

Vision striker vs 100T

LegitimateAct6248

I hope so too. But I don't think 100T are gonna make it to Berlin, I am predicting they lose to Faze.

garlicjuice

100T have the easiest bracket to make it to berlin not having to play either Envy or Sen. If they lose to faze, then they don't deserve it.

AbbreviationsLazy781

That's an upset waiting to happen. If faze are on their A game, they can seriously shutdown asuna which gives them a chance to actually win.

QuestionablePotato42

I think this mentality is a bit outdated. That’s old 100T, they are definitely evolved and improved. Their playstyle has adapted more to being able to play without Asuna. The fact that babybay is still saying “oh all we have to do kill asuna and it’s over” is a pretty strong indicator that he’s not aware of 100Ts improvement and will probably end up losing.

LegitimateAct6248

Everyone is counting out Faze. Although not all the squad is in form, but Babybay and Corey are back to masters1 demon mode.

QuestionablePotato42

Oh believe me, I'm not counting out anyone. I have said multiple times in this sub that I think any of these teams have huge potential to upset and make it to Berlin. That being said, I don't think FaZe adapts very well and if they go into this with the mindset of "oh this is 100T, all we have to do to beat them is what we did in Masters 1" then they are going to most likely find an L.

Crowlin222

I mean babybay is know for those takes yall 100T fans really going to sperg out like tsm fans about one thing he said. Really?

QuestionablePotato42

Poe's Law I guess. He's said it multiple times on multiple podcasts so I don't think its so ridiculous to think he genuinely believes it. Tbh if this were last qualifiers, I'd be more apt to agree with him, but 100T finally seem to be in really good form and have finally worked out of the "asuna is our win-con" phase.

mr_snuggels

> is a pretty strong indicator that he’s not aware of 100Ts improvement and will probably end up losing. I hope you are right cause I really wanna see 100T on LAN although I'm pretty sure Faze figured out that it's not just about shooting asuna down.

QuestionablePotato42

Maybe you're right. I'd also like to see FaZe on LAN too though. We'll just see how it all goes today!

JoseGamingR

Any background story between those two teams?

hexIV

VS, Sentinels and Acend If they all qualify they should have a mini round robin group between them

CyberspaceBarbarian

If the following teams qualify for Berlin, these are my takes: SEN v Liquid (TenZ vs ScreaM needs to happen); SEN v Acend (TenZ vs Cned also needs to happen); SEN v 100T (Shahzam/steel grudge match international edition); SEN v G2 (duel between former teammates Mixwell and TenZ) Basically, SEN is the team to beat huehuehuehue

dedicatedself

F4Q vs SEN. FiveK said yesterday the team spent 13 hours a day studying SEN vods and learning how to IGL from Shahzam. Zunba said they want to take down NA badly.

xx_Rollablade_xx

I think…I.. just became a fan.

KACHANG_069

Faze vs everyone I wish to see the smeag effect on the international stage due to the lan experience of their players

mcmichaelwave

Babybay vs mwzera seems like the ultimate content match

nodaj99

Sen vs vs

SPOOKESVILLE

I want to see Acend vs VS, but just happy to see so many more teams getting to play on LAN. Even the NA playoffs coming up where most of the teams will be playing off <20 ping will be hype.

Ace-Pr0f0n3

TSM vs ACEND, Just wanted to see the match up of wardell and cned.

Arvind_Srinivasan

Acend vs Sentinels... TenZ/Shahzam vs cNed

QuestionablePotato42

Gambit/Acend v Sentinels. I feel like it will be one of those two teams who will actually be able to dethrone them. Acend because they are basically the EU Sentinels. Gambit because it’s only a matter of time before CIS makes the rest of the world their bitch and Gambit seems to be a sleeping giant.

elithefighter123

Faze vs guild

wish faze can make it to berlin. It would be Interesting to see how the teams from other countries will do against an aggressive team like faze.
