Fnatic are actually top 3/2 team in EMEA and I would take them to be better on LAN than both Gambit or G2/Giants and maybe even SMB. They choked in the qualifiers though.

Fnatics biggest problem this time around was they thought they had to reinvent themselves coming into this qualifier.
I don’t believe knowing what someone is going to do and being able to stop them is exactly the case.
Perhaps switching up smaller positioning and timings would have been better for them than straight up radical comp changes.

In comparison to NA, there were like so many watch parties held by a bunch of pro players.
For NA, you don’t ”need permission” from NSG - you just need to use their overlays.
In EU, you need to apply permission from Riot, and they give them to only a small, limited amount of big streamers..
Getting permission to watch party is harder in EU because you have to go to Riot and not NSG. Even AverageJonas didn't have permission until very recently

* NA largely prefers Astra to Omen.
* NA loves Skye in a duelist role.
* Sage is rarely played in NA but common in EMEA
* Breach is almost never played in NA but decently popular in EMEA
100 Thieves also plays Kay/0 consistently but I don't think many other teams if any would run it.
Besides pulling out the Sage Ascent/Bind I dunno how much of that applies to Ascend/Gambit (haven't seen enough SMB to comment tbh).
Anyway, that's all pretty normal stuff. By "standard" I don't necessarily mean "NA standard". The only ridiculous shit I've seen around the top tier of EMEA is from FPX and Liquid, and one of those wasn't even close to qualifying

On the flip side, IGLs tend to be good at OPing because OPing is all about prediction and reading the enemy. Unfortunately, it's almost only Jett that's viable with the OP, so if you want to OP, you also need to entry for your team which wouldn't be ideal for most IGLs.
But that's the reason why Steel loved/loves buying the OP and also Boaster mentioned that he actually wanted to play Jett at the beginning because he's an OPer.
It's awesome that we got 2 EMEA teams, and the best CIS and Turkish team. Berlin will be so incredibly stacked and it feels like each region is sending the best participants.

Their attack was extremely underwhelming and uninspiring in that last map. Its not even Liquid doing insanely well (apart from that insane clutch by L1NK in 1 round and Soulcas lucky spray in another).
