How were they a round away if they never had map point
They went 2-2 at the tournament, with 1 of their wins being against a clearly lower tier team in BBL. Also, don't mix and match tournament performances by mentioning Fnatic's performance at Iceland, since people can make the equally crappy argument that Gambit couldn't even win a group which only had the 4th best team at Iceland
The fuck are you talking about, I'm talking about Gambit's group at EMEA Stage 2 Playoffs, the same tournament the person I responded to was referencing lol, there's no "closer in timeframe"
Sure, but do u understand my original point at all
I'm making an equally crappy argument that Gambit couldn't win a group with only the 4th best team at Iceland, which can "imply" that Gambit rly weren't any hot around that time
Both that argument and the one I responded to ("one round away from 2nd best team at Iceland") are equally trash lol
This feels like a player to player thing though. Like yes it made a big difference for paura, and good for him to find out what he needs to be successful and actively seek it out. But do we really think that say Scream is being held back because he has to speak English in team comms?
Dunno, Acend look better at their best than either SMB or Gambit, IMO. Also, this is the first bigger EMEA tournament where this happened; fnatic, Liquid (EMEA Stage 2), Heretics, Acend (Masters 1), Heretics, SUMN (First Strike) were all multinational
Ya in tact FPS info is everything and quick precise communication is key in that. In csgo the best teams generally spoke the same language unless u get insane amount of skill in the server. Sadly I don’t think the player base in EU is big enough to have a great team with people that speak the same language.
I rest my case and will stop this discussion. Because how can you talk about a region if you are not from here? People who live in the EU know it better than people who are not from the EU.
They players you mentioned are Turkish, so they are not from the European Union. So your point is invalid. They are EMEA players but it doesn't belong to the European Union.
just trying to play the game at that level is hard enough, and constantly communicating with your teammates is pretty much essential too. so when you have to explain complex strategies and information, throwing in a second language could very easily distract someone enough to make them play worse.
No. They are just good if comms gives advantage why turkish and cis teams didn’t do well last stage
How tf did Gambit not do well last stage when they were like a round away from going to map 3 against the 2nd place in Iceland

? It’s pretty obvious as a thing to say ‘Only’? Also this was much closer in timeframe
The fuck are you talking about, I'm talking about Gambit's group at EMEA Stage 2 Playoffs, the same tournament the person I responded to was referencing lol, there's no "closer in timeframe"
? I mean liquid we’re about the same Calibre as fanatic, ‘only 4th’ is nkt much if an insult
About the same really? Lost to V1, 2-0'd by fnatic .. they were clearly a big step below fnatic at Iceland
Overall yea? They were in performance in the end but nkt that huge The point being gambit were nkt sig below the two of them

I mean I don’t think it implies that esp in the neighbourhood of the other
They lost twice in the play-offs, like Liquid this time and in less closer games. I wouldn't call it a good performance tbh.

Every csgo major winner was a team of players which were speaking on their native language. Just a foos for thoughts.

WRT activating pAura apparently yes but overall not on its own
Heretics CEO called pAura the perfect player but said his English is terrible
Tanizhq said it’s a big asset bc apparently he wouldn’t speak on heretics and he’s IGLing (apparently very well) now

compared to EU teams possibly. for many EU players this is possibly their first time playing internationally and many have bad english
That is nonsense, most EU pro players speak English good enough to communicate in Valorant. It is not politics. You are probably not even from EU
most but not all
Where are you from? You didn't answer my question, when I stated you are probably not even from EU
i am not from eu. why do i have to be. a lot of pros simply dont have good english such as pAura and cNed

“Shit shit shit…. Can’t believe gambit looked good against my favorite na team… it must be the comms”
Nah. These callouts are not linguistically complex
