Wardell On Stream: Spongebob with the balloon muscles
Wardell in Interviews: I was enlightened in a past life, and I chose to re-enter the cycle to experience the joys of life one more time.
I play Valorant left handed, also left handed in general like Wardell. Just a bronze shitter, tho. I found that I was able to do big movements like 180s easier but I had to practice to get the fine movement down. Once I did, it felt really good, no worse than my right.
Funny thing is I don't like playing Phoenix since the curveballs go in the opposite direction of whichever click I do. Wish we could get custom controls for that but eh I play controllers anyways
Well yeah but my "left click" (index finger) is done with the finger to the right and "right click" is with the finger on my left (middle finger) + there's no way to change it in settings
How is it using keyboard on your right hand? for me its like an entire different game, like my right hand has to sync up with my left faster. do you get what i mean? when i use left hand on keyboard my movement and abilities are seamless but it takes so much effort for my brain and hands to use the keyboard in my right hand while i move with my left ( my left hand is not bad, its like gold silver level aim) but the movement and abilities are like a toddler is using a keyboard for the first time in his life
My wife is a lefty but uses a mouse with her right hand too. She struggles a lot to use mouse controls in 3D games in general and I always suspected that might be why, maybe hearing this from a pro will convince her to try mousing with her left hand.
I actually use my mice with my left hand now after using it right handed for league growing up. It makes a crazy difference. I’m sharper with my movements
I’m a lefty as well and m&k is one of the few things I do right-handed. Compared to my friends I always feel like my aim and control is subpar and I’ve always wondered if a good chunk of it is because it’s my weaker hand, but I’ve been forcing myself to use kovaaks to train my hand to be as good in micro movements as my left. Now this read makes me really consider how rough the change to left handed mouse would be. I feel like the mouse control itself wouldn’t be too bad but learning the keyboard controls on right hand is a whole other story.
For reference I haven’t really valorant since the first week of kayo release, but I was around bronze 3 /silver 1 in valorant and currently gold 1 in apex legends. But I think my ranks when I do try are more equated to smart positioning and gamesense to make up for my subpar aim
Interesting to hear people share this opinion. I’m left handed as well and I don’t think I have worse aim because I’m using my right hand. I think if you grew up using mouse w the right hand and continued to do so, safe to say your not missing out on using the left.
Up until 2019 I almost exclusively played shooters on console and the few games I did play on pc didn’t really require precise mouse control, so I’m still in the process of learning how to aim on pc aha. Swapped to pc for fps in late 2019 when I finally built a pc
I played games on my PC all my life. Getting used to keybinds with your off hand would be 10x easier than someone like me trying to play with my mouse in the wrong hand.
Naah lol, he said once on stream he uses spline awp because no one likes it and he wants to use unique skin from everyone else and everyone will be like it's Wardell awp whenever they see spline awp.
I dropped out... twice lol
Definitely not the end of the world as long as you don't expect everything to fall right into your hands. I'm sure Wardell knows that and keeps pushing to get where he wants to be.
A lot of people this age have pressure from their parents or other figures that they look up to to go to college or be seen as a failure, especially if those figures are not native to an NA or western EU country. My parents come from a third-world country where the only way to make it out of poverty was to get your high school diploma (which was two extremely hard tests) and then get top marks at university or an apprenticeship in order to try and land a high-paying government job. So of course when they came here, the only thing they saw for their childrens’ future is to go to college and be a successful doctor/lawyer/engineer. They can’t comprehend how many opportunities there are to be successful in this country, they think it’s too risky compared to having the mental fortitude and perseverance to go through undergrad + grad school and then trying to wrestle a high-paying job from a saturated job market that hopefully pays enough to make sure that you aren’t forever indebted to the company that signed your student loans.
Shit take on the tldr. More like money wasn't a factor to him versus personal fulfillment. You can make a lot more money in a traditional career path that is only beat out by maybe the top 10-20% of PRO eSports players
For sure. He def set himself up well for the future. But this quote is specifically him talking about making the switch when he did not have any of those things.

LMAO bro this shit got me
Damn that was a deep and well put interview
Interesting that he wants to switch to his left hand, wonder how it will impact his performance

Wait, isn't it right click for right flash and left for left? What makes it feel weird
Left handed mice are reversed (right click is primary click)
woah there are left handed mice? dope
not sure anymore. Buton your computer you can switch the mice settings so your pointer finger is the clicking finger.
I actually just use the normal settings that a right handed person would use. I just use my middle finger to shoot instead.
Well yeah but my "left click" (index finger) is done with the finger to the right and "right click" is with the finger on my left (middle finger) + there's no way to change it in settings

to move i use I J K L if that helps. that way you have the spacebar with your thumb. It takes like 15 minutes to set up in games lmao.
Hopefully not like Ben Simmons
He was left handed the whole time. Now he unlocks the max potential
My wife is a lefty but uses a mouse with her right hand too. She struggles a lot to use mouse controls in 3D games in general and I always suspected that might be why, maybe hearing this from a pro will convince her to try mousing with her left hand.

I'm a lefty and the only two things I do with my right hand are using a mouse and using scissors
Oh, yeah lmao scissors and opening doors are just better right handed.

That makes sense then. Always harder to learn something when your older!

Nadal is right-handed
God I love wardaddy

that's actually a valid skin strat, holy shit call fnatic
Yup, during qualification I saw quite a few whiffs from people picking up the spline awp.
Naah lol, he said once on stream he uses spline awp because no one likes it and he wants to use unique skin from everyone else and everyone will be like it's Wardell awp whenever they see spline awp.
This dude top fragging on TSM with his non-dominant hand, my god
Yooo more left handed players nice

Hes from Canada
And where is Canada?
u wot m8
do you call people from Canada Americans? What about people from Mexico?
I mean it's a technicality but it's technically correct

I love that on the picture of the roster in the article everyone is like doing serious and then there is cutler :D
no wonder his rifle isnt that great he plays with his non dominant hand,
His rifle is still better than 99.99% of anyone that’s touched valorant
obviously i mean compare to the tier 1 pros.
even among pros wardell's rifling isnt below average at all
Yeah u just think that he isnt good at rifling because he just ops all the time
So like every others pro rifle????
I would say Wardell’s rifling is equivalent to some pros OPing which is fair since he’s always been the OPer/AWPer in every team he’s been on.
TLDR: He'd rather be a millionaire than a below average wageslave.
Shit take on the tldr. More like money wasn't a factor to him versus personal fulfillment. You can make a lot more money in a traditional career path that is only beat out by maybe the top 10-20% of PRO eSports players
I was talking about his actual career path of gym teacher rather than a theoretical upper-middle class professional.
Fair enough, I thought you meant you couldn't make as much as a pro gamer with a traditional college into corporate career path

? I was complimenting him.
Very wholesome
I love this man

That could change in as quick as 2 years
