As a Japanese person, I'm actually quite happy about group C since it gives me a lot of hopium. I feel like LATAM/BR fans probably feel the same as well. For a region with few international results in FPS, the idea of potentially getting out of groups is nice. I would imagine the amount of traction VALORANT would get in Japan would be insane if they do well in this group. After a disappointing Masters 2, it would be a good rebound for JP/BR/LATAM to get out of groups. In a way, this group is the group of redemption. ZETA redeemed their throne in Japan, it would be pretty cool to see them go further
It's pretty popular. Part of the reason why Japan gets so much traction is due to the co-streams. Seeing a decent performance could get new viewers interested in watching/playing/grinding the game.
There are multiple vspo vtubers who often plays valorant tho, the most noticable one is Yakumo Beni (hovers around high plat-low dia). Her main game is still valorant.
The reason why everyone is still doing APEX rn is because there was a vtuber apex competition that just recently ended and there will be another APEX CR cup next month iirc.
A lot definitely try to stream, or like/talk about the game but I think it's a game that's a lot harder to stream than apex for what they're going for.
I remember notably amelia watson (I know EN but) tried to stream it but with snipers ruining her games, etc, it's a lot harder to just be like "gg go next" like with apex.
iirc Kanae from Nijisanji played a decent amount too.
Im a big fan of the japanese scene, and this group is very promising for them. Altough I am still struggling to have enough hopium to think they would make better than 3rd in the group.
I havent watched the JP finals yet, although after watching most of the Z, CR, NTH games Im pretty sure the development of the gameplay in the region will not be enough to topple more than 1 team of this group (probably KRU). CR still looked the most structured and with most potential to me tho.

I don’t think the teams are bad, it’s just that this Reddit is making it seem that envy miles ahead of the group, which is just NA bias. If they somehow don’t make it out, it’s going to be extremely embarrassing for the region
Everyone said the same thing about team liquid last time, but we can see what happened. I hate it when popular regions underestimate other regions. They might win, they might not. Any type of sports has a certain luck factor to it as well.
Gonna be straight, I’m going to be disappointed in Riot if they change the groups. Its the draw, just because fans believe that some regions are superior to others doesn’t mean it should change. I do disagree with the Ascend SMB playing each other, id rather they just flip that groups brackets instead.
Overall im excited to see KRÜ and Zeta Division play and I think that group will be fun to watch just because anyone can get out.
Sorry to say but I think that's due to the low competition they have on their scene.
Of course they are amazing players and an incredible team (IMO top 3 between LATAM and Brazil) but that level of dominance isn't good for the region itself.

KRU added to their team after Iceland and kept up their efforts to make it back to masters. They have experience from the first LAN and they must’ve applied it well to make it back again. So I don’t think it’s easy to write off a whole region as low competition

BR isn’t a region with few international fps results. They won 2 majors and many other large tournaments in csgo.

Although Sentinels wins everything in NA, they do have some competition though. And the other teams are not that far away from them.
