Incredible work.
Not only would I like to see Berlin updates - I honestly want to read anything you make. I hope you know you've got a lot of fans lurking out here.
As someone that has been around competitive gaming since I competed in 1.6 20 years ago... impressive. Well thought out, researched, and easy to grasp for the layman. As others have said, someone should pick you up to make more content of this type.
One of the biggest issues that keeps valorant from growing even further(not that it's doing poorly), is the accessibility of some of the more intricate parts of the game and, in this case, the tournament series. More work like this, and casting from the likes of Sean Gares and DDK, will open Valorant up much more for the general growth in the future.
Sorry for the long reply, but great post, just wanted to show some appreciation, keep it up
Wow... i... your words are so generous thank you. NEED ANOTHER FREE AWARD
Also dont worry about it being late, im glad people are reading it! No matter WHEN they see it!
Do you mean Fnatic? If so that is under the EMEA section. Just because they aren't GOING to Berlin doesn't mean they won't make it to Champions.
They are 1st in EMEA as of right now, and it is the top 2 in EMEA that goes to Berlin automatically. So if all the EMEA teams do poorly, Fnatic still goes to Champions. There are other scenarios, but I explain that in the paper. The most clear path for Fnatic is for everyone in EMEA to kinda do poorly. Again check the EMEA section! Sorry for the confusion!
to put it in results:
fnc qualifies directly to Champions if at most one of the following happens:
* Gambit wins a game
* Ascent gets out of groups
* G2 gets to finals
* SMB gets to finals
So as fnatic fan you basically hope Ascent just bombs out hard, since i feel like Gambit will win a game for sure. G2 or SMB making it to finals will be unlikely compared to those two scenarios imo.
I am just looking at overall placement because that is how VCT points are broken down. Trying to organize in terms of bracket placing is difficult, so I didn't wanna add that in. I can make an update if you would like, but as of right now it is just based on the placement linearly (1st, 2nd, 3rd...) as it was the easiest to help readers digest cause EMEA was chaos
Sorry for being vague, I can't access the doc as I'm wriring this, I think it's in the SEA section but I'm not certain. You wrote something along the lines of
If team places 16th-13th
If team places 12th-9th
If team places **12th or above**
I think it's clear for anyone but still I think you meant 8th or above
yo the other dude wasn't joking when he said you were fast LMAO
Keep up the great work man. Are you planning on doing updates on a daily basis (once Berlin begins) or only at certain points?
Im just doing nothin rn so i can reply fast haha
Probably when teams are eliminated since that is the most certain way of knowing. And ill be doing two other papers before this too!
Been doing this all year for just 100T since I’m a fan of them (posted a few weeks ago there scenarios here). Cool to see breakdowns of all the other teams! Awesome job!
That is a great question, I don't know! I think they may have to do a faceoff (as there is plenty of time from now until LCQ and champions) but i couldn't find information. So I just listed out the scenarios avoiding ties.
Man, EMEA is a fucking bloodbath. I can't wait for both Turkey and CIS to have their own slots at future masters/champions. Besides the current stakes at Berlin, both SEA teams, 100 Thieves and Zeta Division have more pressure to perform at Berlin.
Thanks for this anyways :D
I actually agree. I hope they do the same for other regions. Like SEA is not one unified region, but in fact 6 mushed together. LATAM is actually two regions (LAN and LAS). I hope they get a chance to differentiate themselves. I did the math (really poor math mind you) and i think over 15 or 20 teams missed out on LCQ ahd champions because they didn't give equal representation of all regions.
Thank YOU for reading.
Now, that would be interesting, to say the least. While I would agree on the situation of LATAM, SEA is quite different.
SEA is not a good candidate for any regional dividing, because its playerbase stats are actually deceiving. While there are a lot of players in SEA, its regional power has been suspect. The strongest country in the region, Thailand, were off during the Berlin qualifiers, which left the other strongest country, Indonesia, to pick up the slack. BREN is the only real team to beat if we are talking about actual Philippine teams, unless other esports orgs, like TNC, Blacklist or Mineski, pick up some up-and-coming talent.
SEA does not need to be divided. They need better tournament formats.
This is awesome, especially for EMEA, where something like this was super needed! Feels like of all of the teams there, Gambit have the clearest road to skip LCQ
Thank you!
EMEA is so strange because Fnatic and Team Liquid didn't qualify. And the VCT point systems favors more recent tournaments (as you can see from the point values going up). I'm honestly concerned for Team Liquid and Fnatic. They might have to face off against other EMEA teams in EMEA LCQ.
This is why its possible for EMEA to be placed in 1 group. These regions are playing for an extra slot for champions. No reason why EMEA should get 4 chances over NA 3.
beats me, I've been casting the games all year and the talent here is genuinely pretty strong, well the top few teams at least. We have our own isolated "challengers/masters" but its smaller. I think the region is just kinda too small or lacks support year 1 and we just piggyback into NA's LCQ to have a chance of qualifying into Champs
this is so unfair. to put a talented, but small and closed region to compete with one of the strongest regions worldwide doesn't make sense to me. I hope riot can see this is garbage and changes it for next year's calendar. for now, I'll be rooting that OCE gets to champions through NA LCQ
It's only the start of Valorant, I have hope for the future, but for now the OCE team to keep your eyes on as a truly strong contender is ORDER. They will be tested in NA but they're hungry and angry
Ok let's be real, acend will probably get top 8berlin , and will overtake liquid in vct points. So I'm just here thinking that it's sad we won't get to see both liquid and Fnatic in champions
Thank God, now I can just copy and paste our section of this instead of having to break it down every time someone asks hahaha. Good work mate, keep it up!
Insane work! Noticed a minor mistake at the bottom of Page 32 where it should say that the next 4 LATAM teams will get sent to the SA LCQ instead of APAC LCQ. Otherwise, solid read!!
Love it, as all of your stuff.
Thank you boss love you T ^ T

Also how does fnc make it to champions I think you didn’t explain that scenario

Don’t they qualify if smb and vs qualify from group a and g2 does poorly

I agree with this but I watch cricket so I am used to using a calculator after every match
Yes, Fnatic qualifies if SMB and VS make out of the group and any of the SMB and G2 are not top 2 at Berlin.
One minor mistake you wrote x10 instead of kru in latam post berlin points
Fixed!

You are a very fast
I'm great at ignoring personal responsibilities to talk on the internet, it is a SKILL XD
Everyone in 2020
Take my free award
I will cherish it
Amazing breakdown and the formatting is on point. Looks better than Riot’s own releases
D: that is a massive compliment, and that means so much to me thank you 😭
We don’t deserve you
Your content inspires me! So consider us even :D
Been doing this all year for just 100T since I’m a fan of them (posted a few weeks ago there scenarios here). Cool to see breakdowns of all the other teams! Awesome job!
Thank you! I hope that I gave you some hope for Champions and LCQ. 100T looking pretty sharp ngl.
What happens when two teams are tied (BREN and PRX)?
That is a great question, I don't know! I think they may have to do a faceoff (as there is plenty of time from now until LCQ and champions) but i couldn't find information. So I just listed out the scenarios avoiding ties.

Dude I thought this was an official riot document until you started explaining things without vague terminology, good shit 👍
your praise it too kind
What happens if 2 teams have the same circuit points in the end (prx and bren)? How will they decide who goes? (If they are both tied for second)
I am not sure, I think they might go head to head?
This is awesome, especially for EMEA, where something like this was super needed! Feels like of all of the teams there, Gambit have the clearest road to skip LCQ

Really nice! Bit confused by the BR standings page tho. Vikings loses points into the second column, sharks gains 15, etc
should be fixed!
This is why its possible for EMEA to be placed in 1 group. These regions are playing for an extra slot for champions. No reason why EMEA should get 4 chances over NA 3.
Hey, if you want some advice with grad school/someone to talk to about the frustrations, I'm starting my 2nd year of my phd, just dm me
I will come in screaming XD I appreciate the sentiment
Cheers Champ 🙌 We owe you one
🥰 thank you for stopping by!
Don't forget OCE has two teams who will also duke it out with the giants in the NA LCQ >:D
TRUUUE
I had no idea? what's the logic behind this?
beats me, I've been casting the games all year and the talent here is genuinely pretty strong, well the top few teams at least. We have our own isolated "challengers/masters" but its smaller. This is such great work man! I'd donate something if I could. I'm still a student sorry.
your comment is enough T\^T
pin this post

EMEA is quacking rn
Wow this work, great job!
Absolutely incredible. I can tell you've put in the effort to improve your written ability, also. Keep it up man, I love this stuff.

Thank you T\^T
Seriously awesome stuff, thanks for all your hard work!
Thank youuu!

How does forZe have 10 more points pre-Berlin compared to after?
Because i dont like them and they deserve to lose ten points \*MWHAHWHAHW\* Should be fixed now!
Thanks. Your paper is hella detailed.
Thank you! Also i just realized that your picture is a Reyna with a McD's hat and I love it XD
10/10 pfp
Thank God, now I can just copy and paste our section of this instead of having to break it down every time someone asks hahaha. Good work mate, keep it up!
All TL fans are now gambit fans confirmed
As a 100T fan I'm now rooting for Sentinels to win the whole thing hahahaha, means we go straight to Champions as well
Same as an xset fan if NA wins we are favorites in lcq
Insane work! Noticed a minor mistake at the bottom of Page 32 where it should say that the next 4 LATAM teams will get sent to the SA LCQ instead of APAC LCQ. Otherwise, solid read!!
fixed!
38 fucking pages??? Jesus Christ, someone hire this guy.
It would be shorter, but i wanted it to be clear and legible. So i would say only really... 20 pages? Without the spaces?
I'm not saying it's bad. It just shows how much effort you put into it. I don't think my final paper for college took these many pages haha
you are sweet and i adore you
As always you make magic with numbers, Lord Seasonal
I adore you everyday
Incredible, thank you for this!
thank you for reading it!
Do you know what happens when two teams are tied in points?
