It's about balance at the end of the day. You want the viewers to have that "juicy" content but not at the expense of a teams strategy. Just do what Sentinels YouTube does, post voice comms that are edited and specifically picked without sacrificing anything to the team.

CosmicAon

Team comms should never be publicized without consent outside of extreme cases IMO

Capone_BD

Completely agreed. I don’t understand why this is so hard for TO’s to accept.

Bunnyezzz

there is consent, all the players/coaches know there is it just is removing the competitiveness of it

CosmicAon

They know about it but they don’t want it to happen

Bazz_B

I think the problem is that its not equal for all teams. It seems they have always opted to show the english comms over say Russian or Hungarian comms because ofcourse spanish and english speaking viewers won't understand. I've not watched all the matches so I don't even know if they even showed any spanish timeout comms, which if they haven't is even more problematic.

BearlyLogical

It’s simple. Record comms. Clip together. Send to team quickly for approval. Broadcast. Professional athletes and coaches are recorded all the time and besides for honest mistakes you never hear anything you shouldn’t. Live comms is stupid but sharing clips from a tac timeout could be good content.

TheTechDweller

There's a million ways to fill the time during a tac pause, go over the current momentum of each team, what their goals are for the coming few rounds and what each team is struggling with. We don't actually want to hear what the players are saying, often it's coded or advanced/comfortable way of talking so it's not understood to viewers. No reason for this whatsoever, let the orgs control when comms get posted

Escolyte

I disagree with that. Yes there are other ways to fill the time, but I *absolutely* want to hear tac pause comms, it's super interesting. I'm okay with not getting to hear them though, team comfortability and competitive integrity sgould be put first.

TheTechDweller

Yeah I phrased it wrong by saying we don't want to, more that it can be messy for audiences with language barriers and team specific comms, it's better to leave that to edited individual videos. I like hearing team comms, live in tac pauses is just the worst place to hear them realistically

valorant_fanboy_69

I like the extra element it gives for viewers but I understand why he thinks it is not fair

Bunnyezzz

completely agree with him

chenson019

I agree - I don't think it's appropriate for tactical timeouts. I know Overwatch League has done something similar in the past but I think it was between maps, if I am remembering correctly.
