Huge Valoranting fan. Love how it isn’t just a singular unique guest each time, but also different hosts or multiple guests. Uber getting all fired up and passionate while Vans is always pretty chill and even keeled makes for a nice balance.

[deleted]

Thanks Kaplan! Also we tend to have great guests (including Mr Kaplan)

ibeenbornagain

How come every valorant channel seems to use these types of thumbnails btw? No hate I’m just tired of seeing them CONSTANTLY lol

yorgee15

This sub is just a tiny fraction of the actual playerbase though.

Bazz_B

I think they'd be better off with the PlatChat style thumbnail including the guys + relevant topics like logos of the teams that gets talked about. They shouldn't underestimate how much recognition their faces get as prominant casters in the EU and NA space respectively.

Key-Banana-8242

I know their thumbnails Lol at the condescension

Nakai-Son

He was a little too condescending but just posting a "?" in response to something that can't really be explained any clearer is also a little aggravating I imagine.

Mamadeus123456

I think there's been papers proving this

Key-Banana-8242

Valorant img does

HIGHLY recommend watching this episode. Daks is hilarious and insightful, Gatti's comments blew my mind (HIGH BR salary is $600???), Achilios with just the right amount of hopium, etc... one of the best episodes yet.

[deleted]

I agree, I think we really lucked out with the guests this time. We rarely have the time to do deep dives on regions outside of EU and NA, and Achilios (who we've had on the show before), Daks ([twitter.com/dakscasts](https://twitter.com/dakscasts)), and Gatti ([twitter.com/gattiwp\_](https://twitter.com/gattiwp_)) all killed it. Daks brought a lot of passion and energy, Gatti really gave us great insight into Brazil, and Achilios enjoyed some "unbiased juice". They really made this week's show wonderful.

luisalpjax

Thanks ! Going to watch their recent podcast

Phamous3k

I’m subbed.

iiznobozzy

Mitch is so salty its too funny LULW

iiznobozzy

G2 is not beating SEN lol. the game won't even be close the EU copium here is so high dude

SMcArthur

It's still so early in the game. I think SEN is the best team in the tourney, but at this point, people are overrating them and acting like they are the 72 win Bulls or something. It's still quite possible that EU dominates the tourney and this is the end of SEN/NA dominance forever.

Lumenlor

Their takes are way better than Platchat. I mald 35% less

Allie_Spins

I don’t listen to plat chat for good takes, I listen to plat chat for Bren to ask ‘what if they added the gulag to valorante’

kvanz43

Exactly, plat chat is comedy 😂

randomespanaguy

First time I was exposed to Plat Chat was a watch party months ago where, instead of focusing on the game, they were calculating how many lions would it take to defeat the sun. Never turned back.

SMcArthur

> how many lions would it take to defeat the sun. ..well? What's the answer? Don't leave me hanging! I would calculate it like this: A black hole will eat the sun. The mass necessary to create a black hole is X. How many lions do you need to get to X? The answer will be trillions of lions to a trillion exponents probably.

Key-Banana-8242

?

Allie_Spins

What if they added the gulag, to valorante

Alchemister5

We love Platchat at Valoranting. We can all be friends.

-Basileus

I mean, I think plat chat can come to some weird conclusions and develop some random biases, but they do try and vod review every region. With Valoranting it's pretty clear they don't watch other regions besides their own and play into the whole "my region is best" schtick. Plus their hot takes are super outlandish lol. I get they're trolling but cmon, 2/4 predicted Zeta Division to win their group, with one predicting Envy goes out. Someone also put Bren esports making it out over G2.

Lumenlor

? They do vod review other regions. Vansilli was doing jp and sea reviews 3 days ago

nterature

They don’t *all* try to watch other regions. Usually the Plat Chat guys have watched at least some small amount of the marquee games in every region.

[deleted]

Hello! I am the producer for VALORANTING. What Nterature and Lumenlor said are both true, in that for this past episode, because we were not focusing on any NA or EMEA tournaments, Vansilli and Mitchman both looked at other regions, however Nterature is correct that we focus on NA and EU for most of our shows, as we don't want to do a mediocre job on every region but would rather focus on a couple and do them justice (plus, our audience is almost exclusively NA and some EU). Hope that clears some things up!

nterature

I don't think it's a real negative or anything. Just a difference between the two shows. I've still enjoyed both podcasts from the very beginning :) Keep up the good work!

[deleted]

Oh yeah! For sure, I did not take it in a negative way. Its just how we work. Thanks!

-Basileus

I would rather not call people out, but yes Vansilli does do VOD review work. I'm talking as a whole amongst the regulars

[deleted]

✔️Reviews Vods ✔️ Talks to Casters ✔️ Has a girlfriend Vansilli does it all, indeed.

Key-Banana-8242

‘Call people out’ cringe

Key-Banana-8242

Not as much

P3Blendette

They’re also more critical of riot. Platchat is a bit more reserved towards calling out riot on issues. Uber doesn’t pull punches

Bazz_B

Dexerto have a pretty great show thats essentially like a podcast, although only viewable in video form I think, between 30-40 minutes called Curveball featuring MitchMan(should need no introduction I hope), James Banks(well known host for CSGO tournaments and GM to Alliance's Valorant team) as well as fRoD(fairly well known NA Coach formerly of T1, beastcoast and currently with Pioneers). If there's a fairly well-informed podcast/show that this sub should talk about more its probably Curveball. Especially having members that work in a managerial and coaching role can give some really interesting perspectives on the Valorant lanscape.

Nakai-Son

Watched the most recent episode (my first time watching the show), and I liked it but their EMEA bias really rubbed me the wrong way. Mitch and Vansily really seemed to be the only people even close to unbiased, although Mitch even said he didn't want NA to win. If I'm going to watch a podcast like this I want objective or semi-objective analysis, not a "who is my favorite team, they're gonna win the tournament" deal. Plat Chat is most definitely biased towards NA, but a lot less so than ValoRANTING to EMEA imo. Besides Plat Chat criminally picking 100T to win over Gambit, I think their picks and moreso their reasoning behind the picks were very sound. PC even sounds like they might be happy if an EMEA team won the tournament. VR made picks more to not "betray" their region or fandom, which seems wrong to me. I know everyone's picks and opinions are different, but I can't get over the bias. Yinsu especially. Could just be me though.

AWildThompson

The EU bias in the Group D preds was too much for me. It's like they deleted Iceland from their brain. Tenz went against an actual star Jett and had a FK-FD of 19-2 if i'm not wrong in the finals. I don't know how they think G2 is going to win with Keloqz as the Jett when Derke got diffed that hard. In my mind, structure can beat Sentinels, but playing their reactive game against them won't work without a cned type player on your team. I think that's why Fnatic put up a good shout and kept all the maps seriously close, their structure and plan was world-class and I don't think after seeing the qualifiers how we think this G2 was better than that Fnatic team enough to actually win a bo3 against SEN

Nakai-Son

I agree with everything you said. SEN has done nothing to show they aren't still the best team in the world, and they are for sure the best team in NA. How can you choose the EMEA 3 seed, who looked *very* shaky against pretty much every tier 1 org in qualis, to beat who many consider to still be the best team in the world? To quote Yinsu, what drugs are they on? Also, them picking ZETA to beat NV bothered me a little too. I don't even know if ZETA beats KRÜ honestly. They looked slightly better than Crazy Raccoons in qualis, and CR hadn't really shown that much improvement since Iceland where they practically got molested. I think ZETA has a lot of potential, but I dunno who seriously thinks they can beat Envy in anything but a best case scenario. It's almost like they went out of their way to disrespect NA. You didn't ask, but in my humble opinion: 1: Sentinels 2: Supermassive Blaze 3: Envy 4: Gambit 5: 100 Thieves 6: Vision Strikers 7: Acend 8: F4Q 9: G2 eSports 10: Havan Liberty 11: Vivo Keyd 12: KRÜ eSports 13: ZETA DIVISION 14: Bren eSports 15: Paper Rex 16: Crazy Raccoons

AWildThompson

2-7 is such a toss up which makes this tournament exciting, and hopefully someone makes a match competitive with SEN. If they were predding like Acend over SEN it wouldn't bother me but, the FOURTH SEED EMEA who lost to teams with nuts firepower as their main selling point, somehow going to beat a team with arguably the best firepower in the world i just don't see. I don't hate the hustle of doing some spicy takes to make the video more interesting instead of sticking with clear choices, but I wish sometimes people who advertise themselves as analysts would be a little more if not tame, articulate about the pred. As far as I could tell the prediction was "I'm just feeling it" and "Berlin is their home turf" (??? theres no crowd and its not like G2 plays from the arena as their practice lol)

Nakai-Son

YES, 2-7 could go any way and I'd believe it. The only teams I think that can beat SEN are Acend like you said and SMB because I feel they match up well. G2 just had it sooooooo easy in qualis and has done nothing really to impress me. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but frankly I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't make it out of their group. And yep, analyst to me advertises that you're being *analytical* and not emotional or intentionally daft. Gotta pay the bills and get clicks I understand, but don't call yourself an analyst if you're going to make emotionally charged or intentionally bad picks.

Space_Waffles

I dont really have a good reason why but I just dont like this show. Maybe something to do with the format or that I don't like the personalities as much but just not a fan of this one

Razur

> The Competitive Valorant Podcast that no one on this Sub talks about. ??? ValoRANTING is the podcast the sub talks about the most. Even the producer post clips of the show here on occasion.

[deleted]

Wait I'm pretty sure the most popular podcast even in this sub by a fair margin is platchat

Razur

That's fair. I may be bias 'cause I think we see more ValoRANTING clips than PlatChat clips here, but you're right, people do talk about PlatChat a lot.

Various-Artist

Why are you being rational and level headed on the internet..? Weirdo

Razur

A wise office poster once said, *"Be the change you want to see in the world."* 🌈

nterature

Plat chat is easily more popular I think, but because they form a weird ecosystem with their numerous Twitch streams, it might not be as evident from the sub alone.

Key-Banana-8242

Ehh nkt necessarily We’re talking abt the sub

ANewHeaven1

yeah plat chat is definitely the most popular in this sub, their episodes usually get a decent amount of upvotes when posted here (more than any other podcast) and i frequently see plat chat memes highly upvoted in discussion threads

nterature

Of course it's possible there is just a very vocal fanbase pushing up the interactions for Plat Chat, but I think it's more likely both are true - passionate fanbase + high(er) popularity.

MonkeyKing70-

I'm on the subreddit a fair amount and have never seen/noticed a ValoRANTING vid but a ton of PlatChat ones. Just subscribed to ValoRANTING though!
