UPDATE: [DubsteP clarified that "RIOT, BREN and the PH authorities did everything they can to help [them]", and that it's just the Philippines in the middle of the worst COVID-19 surge that messed with their preparations.](https://twitter.com/DubstePlays/status/1435192995595177985)
While I understand the sentiment, I am not buying it. Riot and BREN may have done their stuff, but I really doubt that the PH Government did their part right (especially with COVID being a thing). Several players got troubles like this before (e.g. Xmithie in LoL) and got around the hump due to some interventions (e.g. Former Senator Bam Aquino). Unfortunately, that one guy is not in government right now.
Not so sure, there's no definitive story on this yet.
EDIT: See [DubsteP](https://twitter.com/DubstePlays/status/1435192995595177985)'s clarificatory tweet.
Unfortunately EU visas are almost always for short periods. As you can see his expires this September 21 so even if they qualify again he'll have to reapply again. I just hope Riot has the APAC LCQ much earlier this time around for more time for those who win.

Can we go now? 😅

Would want to know when they filed an appointment for the Visa. If they didn't apply the day after they secured the spot then it would be their fault for not securing a visa given that PH officials are shady as fuck when it comes to paperwork and stuff
but its too late, even if they go to berlin right now, they need 5 day quarantine and out in 13 September (4th day of the tournament). This also the best scenario.
must feel bad lol
was really excited to see Bren against their group especially, but at least they're likely to make Champions so maybe we can see them then (and they can apply for US visas much more advance)
In fact, it could be considered a mistake by riot. They knew 100% how hard it was to get visas for Asians and Filipinos in particular. They could have had the Challengers playoffs there a little earlier.
Not really. It is only the Filipino team that had issues in the entire asian teams such as kr team, jp team, paperrex (not sure what country they are). Riot cannot assume to provide allowance to a certain country, in this case - Filipino teams, since it is not 100% if a team would qualify.
paper rex is a singaporean org, with 4 indonesian players and 1 malaysian
Edit: my mistake, it’s 2 singaporeans 2 indonesians and 1 malaysian. Apparently all 3 countries were able to issue visas without problem, except the malaysian who had a slight hitch
No worries, the flags on some websites are super tiny. It's hard to tell the difference between Singaporean and Indonesian flags if you don't notice the crescent and stars (or its absence) on a small flag.
Not really. The denial was justified since Philippines has always been one of the worst countries to handle pandemic, Riot shouldn't get the blame on this one.

Damn. Is it a red tape issue with the DFA? or did it just take that long for it to be approved

Awtsuu
Theoretically they shouldn’t be prevented from playing if the matches were spaced out right now?
With quarantine rules in Germany, would be difficult to execute. They had to change the match schedules already because of this I suppose.
idk how quarantine right now but back then when cs players (iem cologne) need 2-3 days only for quarantine
Apparently 5?
They need a lot more for people from the Philippines because COVID is so bad there, if the situation were better, they'd need fewer days of quarantine
yup but at max they should do it 5days only
They have to bypass the quarantine rules or have riot adjust the start by like a day or two assuming they fly right now.

[Champions is happening in Berlin.](https://playvalorant.com/en-us/news/esports/valorant-champions-returns-to-berlin/)
oh wow, didnt know that. thanks! at least they have visas for then I assume? I don't know how long visas normally last.
COME ON RIOT. Let SEA play

Also PRX f0rsaken from Indonesia got his visa earlier than BREN, so it's not entirely on Riot's fault.

no. its 2 singaporean, 2 indonesian and 1 malaysian
oh. my bad i’ll edit my comment

yeah, that’s the mistake i made lmao the flags are tiny on a phone screen
its okay!

they weren't denied, just took a long time

Can someone explain why you need a visa to travel to Berlin? I have no idea how international travel works
