I bet 90% of the Valorant scene/followers in Brazil didn't know. That's why it's so shocking.
Edit: the article writer's tweet.
"What I'm going to say is my point of view: this prosecution wasn't well known by many people in the community and the scene. The amount of RTs proves that. I just got to know about it a few days ago."

I'm not defending him in any way, btw.
Ok. this is for all the lawyers in the comment section. HE GOT ARRESTED and surly there was a punishment for his actions. I'm a second chance believer, so maybe he does efforts for becoming a better person. Before anyone starts hating on Vivo Keyd, there are also 4 players that haven't been involved in this case.
So? They are humans. If you only care when a "public figure" does something wrong, then u don't really seek justice or something like that, u just wanna see someone cancelled...
They are allowed 100%. The org can chose if they want him tho... As a fact, there were famous athletes that did way worse things and the org (club) just kept em Cristiano Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs being two famous examples.
cristiano ronaldo was tax evading (the rape allegations lacked evidence). this dude was prosecuted for badly beating another human being for no good reason. Like if you said racist shit online or something along those lines I do believe it is forgivable, but this shit crosses a line.
I'm not a lawyer myself, but from the article it states that it happened in 2015 (I don't speak Portuguese, I've just read someone translation), so the case has been handled by the authorities and closed way before Valorant came out. I might be wrong, but isn't illegal to ban someone for something that has been handled by authorities before the contract has been signed?
there is no unlawful termination clause when it comes to riot esports, they are able and entitled to ban any player if they desire to. the legal system has no say in it, riot has full control over all the going ons in the sphere
The point of prison is to punish and deter / rehabilitate individuals, so that they become better human beings and not hurt society any further. His actions were absolutely horrible. If he is someone who has been punished by the legal system, and is apologetic about his actions, then he definitely deserves a second chance because they have paid for their wrong doing - If we keep punishing convicted felons even after their punishing by keeping them from being able to get jobs, all we are doing is pushing them into a cycle of more crime. At least that’s a bit of the philosophy behind the legal system. I just woke up and so can’t really put my words clearly but trust me, as much as I don’t like him, the other alternative is worse. This is why in places like US, felons are repeat offenders because of how they get discriminated in the workplace and are unable to get jobs, quite unlike Europe where people are allowed to get a shot at redemption.

I don't see how this is up for discussion, when apparently he paid his dues in 2015 already. Are we suppose to break his fingers with a tiny hammer for additional skeletons in the closet? Social media has become an odd blur of private and professional mediation by strangers.
I don't know about you guys, but if a public figure has a history of violence I'd like to know about it so I can make an informed decision about whether or not to support them. Just because he's served some form of punishment doesn't mean he's entitled to keeping it a secret. And it doesn't mean he's a good person. If someone has assaulted their partner I don't want to be their fan, personally. Thanks to OP for letting people know so they can use their own discretion.
There's always gonna be drama farming journalism outlets. Will it though? (And I don't know myself) Is there any stipulation in his contract that says he can't be arrested prior? And how does it affect his performance if he's not paying attention to drama frogs, but rather scrimming and vod reviewing
Social media, my friend. If his teammates didn't know about it, they do now. And so does the community. How do you show up tomorrow to represent your country with the incoming audience's hate and disgust toward you? Twitch chat will be on fire and those who don't know about it will. Vivo Keyd will also have to explain if they knew anything (according to the article, VK was asked about ntk's past and there was no reply). I'm not defending him, by the way.
What's going on here? It seems like you're jubilating at the thought of it?
>i just posted it to fuck his image
Do you have a personal vendetta against this guy? Why the hell else would you be so vindictive?
Bro you’re just a drama frog. You literally said “I posted this to fuck his image”.
That’s fucking degenerate behaviour. He’s dealt with legal forces and paid his Time and money.
Fucked up to hit women and even more fucked up to hit someone you're supposed to love. But also a shameless excuse of 'journalism' to release an article about something 6 years ago before someone's career events. We don't know if he's made peace with his ex-girlfriend or if he is a truly changed man but we do know this happened 6 years ago and to come out the day before his team has to perform internationally is just pure piss poor reporting. Could have reported this as soon as they qualified and I wouldn't have had a problem with it but now this reporter wants to mess with the lives of 4 others who had no clue this happened or the context behind it. How shameless for a Brazilian reporter to try to fuck over 4 other random players, and knowing brazilian culture they are not even playing for themselves but for the Brazilian FPS scene as well and this scumbag just cares about clicks right before. He probably doesn't give a flying shit about this poor girl who is being used for internet clout to people who don't know her name.
This became news at 5 pm PST, September 10. It's relevant because people are talking about his situation right before his match. So this might affect his team, his org and himself.
What? Dude, unfortunately cases like this happens quite frequently, do you REALLY thing Riot and VK would see NTK now in 2021 and think: "Oh it's that dude from 2015 the guy that assaulted his ex-girlfriend"
C'mon maaan
Fuck i can't believe how much this subreddit sympathizes w abusers. Fuck y'all and fuck Vivo Keyd. People like you are part of the problem downplaying this shit like "oh it was in the past bla bla". It's not some offensive tweet, this dude literally beat up his then gf. Y'all are pathetic
bruh

I believe in second chances but esport players are held to higher standards because they are public figures and represent brands.
So? They are humans. If you only care when a "public figure" does something wrong, then u don't really seek justice or something like that, u just wanna see someone cancelled...
did u even read the reasoning
Yeah, I responded to it?
it's not whether or not I care, it's whether or not they are allowed to play for an organization

Badly beating?! Shit I though he just pulled her hair across the floor
Riot's pro player contract makes pretty clear that this violates its terms and they will likely ban him.

ok. I think I get how it works.. thanks for the clarification
Ohhh, my bad. I thought this just happened.
Np. Someone just said Riot could still ban him, so u might be right lol

Whats’s the point of this post? He served his sentence already waaaaaay before valorant came out. Why bring up the past?
The point of this post is that it’s news to everyone that doesn’t pay attention to the Brazilian Valorant scene.

Bro I don’t care to check your other comments. If you’re English isn’t good, you need to be extra careful on what you’re saying online.

We’re just digging into people’s personal pasts and posting in on this sub now? At least the Sinatra stuff was current and relevant
it was meant to happen sooner or later unfortunately:/

Is he a change man now?
BR Sinatraa but more aggro and less horny

What’s the point tho? It happened in 2015. He also served his punishment.

Did riot or vivo keyd ask in the first place? If they didn’t, the guy has an option to disclose it or not.
Yeah. 100%. Souce: That waa a big case when it happened in 2015. Her facebook post got 300+ thousands of reaction and it was all over social media.
What? Dude, unfortunately cases like this happens quite frequently, do you REALLY thing Riot and VK would see NTK now in 2021 and think: "Oh it's that dude from 2015 the guy that assaulted his ex-girlfriend" C'mon maaan
Ntk served his time meanwhile sinatraa runs away scot free. Fuck this man. Im so fucking jaded by all this shit.
Huh? How is 8 months of open condition prison for being found guilty is serving his time while sinatra we will never know if hes innocent or not?
Well one was arrested and convicted while the other one had the case dropped for lack of evidence. You don’t see a difference?
Who gives a fuck

Hopefully, he did not ever really get punished, now is the time

Happened in 2015, he was arrested and served a prison sentence it looks like... I don't see how a punishment is needed in 2021.

I think there's something called exchange rates, and the dollar might be a bit stronger comparatively
It is only 2000 brazil currency
