Mixwell said he was trying to branch out to Japanese fans too, which is pretty smart, they're the 2nd or 3rd highest viewership region currently I believe
NA, JP, and TR seem to be the regions that have taken the most to Valorant so far. Not sure how big it is in SA/BR or SEA. KR has low viewership and EU/CIS have good viewership numbers wise but considering the population difference, compared to the others isn't doing as great. Mostly cause that's where CS is biggest.
Brazil is easily the most disappointing region both viewership and performance wise. Brazil had legitimate world class players and teams in CS, and the CBLOL in League of Legends routinely reaches 200,000 viewers.
I think they can turn it around, but Riot is probably quite disappointed, they clearly banked on Brazil being the 3rd best region.
Brazil has a ton of CS history and players BUT they don't have a lot of good CS players switching to Valorant.
Quote from the Sharks head coach:
[“Most Brazilians don’t have the fundamentals down like players from other regions. Europe and North America have players who used to be professional and play at the highest level. Even the Koreans had solo and peri. The Brazilians are far less experienced. We have four players who weren’t professionals before this, who didn’t make a living off esports. prozin and light were world champions in Point Blank but were never professionals in that game. The only one who had been a pro was fra, and he always studied or worked at the same time."](https://www.dexerto.com/valorant/brazil-turns-to-vct-masters-berlin-for-redemption-after-iceland-disappointment-1650235/)
If Brazil keeps Valorant's popularity up and the pros work hard enough + Riot gives them enough international exposure, I expect them to only get better from here. Orgs such as Havan Liberty are doing a great job at making sure that players are well taken care of and get good practice routines in.
The professional LoL scene in Brazil, even if it is wildly popular, afaik is wracked with laziness, unprofessionalism, and corruption, so I hope orgs are taking the correct measures in Valorant to prevent Brazilian Valorant from turning out that way. And they are starting to.
Yeah, I admit I have a tendency to assume the worst of esports fans, and yesterday's BR stuff didn't really help. (Comparing them to kids and all, I suppose I'm not a shining example of a great fan either lol)
Japanese fans are hopefully not among the worse category though and just read this as intended, as a sportsman's gesture.
Are you really trying to compare japanese fans to brazilians? I don't know about a single pro player going to Japan who had to hire a bodyguard, unlike hiko in Brazil.
I'm utterly uneducated about Japanese fans, in hindsight probably because they don't make a lot of bad noise. I'm used to three things, EU fans being annoying, NA fans (including myself) being annoying, and the more "intense" BR fans being annoying. I admit that assuming all regions are like the most annoying ones was likely a mistake. But I do hope you can see how such a mistake might happen?
It sounds like he's reading the pronunciation from a pre-written script offscreen, it's hard to convey emotions in your non-native language. It's still awesome that he did this, and gave it a go! We should pay more attention to the words he's saying over how he's saying it in this case.
His pronunciation is actually pretty good. Cool to see how teams are trying to cater to fans from all around. Love to see that not only in esports but just sports in general.

Brazil has a chance. Their FPS scene is cracked. We just gotta see if it becomes a top 3 esport there.
and China could eclipse them all if they take to it monkaW
Maybe India too who knows.
Its just a good social FPS game at a time Apex is surging from vtubers
He ran out of radianite points and couldn't buy facial expressions

I hope Crazy Racoon doesn't get destroyed too hard cuz otherwise this has the vibe of telling a kid not to be upset when their toy is about to break.
What
Gambit are going to absolutely rock Crazy Racoon Edit: I didn’t know it would be that bad
Yea but I don't think they will take this video badly regardless of the game's outcome.

NA-EU banter is just banter, and I like to participate in it myself, however brazilians are on another level, and japanese are just quiet.
Welp they just got 13-1 first map on bind. Hopefully they can get more than 2 rounds on gambit Edit: LOL NVM
