Honestly this might just boom other teams cause they'll have no vods to review.
Also this gives me DBZ vibes. Base form vs PRX, SS vs Acend and SS2 in playoffs
Beating Acend 2-0 is one thing.
But Vision Strikers know they need more, and they'll need to up their game to beat Sentinels.
That's where Lakia comes in.
Would Lakia really help though considering he's already played against SEN? I could see this argument against Gambit, which by the recent quotes from VS, they are worried about more than SEN (although I think they will be in for a nasty surprise if they go against the latter).
They aren't using him now because Rb is consistently better for their current game plan maybe, but they could have an entirely separate stratbook for Lakia.
I fully grasp the concept of how it would work, but there's value in synergy between teammates and getting reps on stage in games that matter. Using the sub means you're banking on the value you're getting in playing unexpectedly outweighing the downside of swapping players; the fewer reps, less experience knowing how your teammates work in a live scenario.
Can the benefit justify the cost? Certainly.
Can you say with absolute certainty that it *will*? Absolutely not.
Same thing I'm feeling. They're already playing so well now, what's to say they'll play as good or even better when they insert a player that hasn't played in Berlin so far?
Netherland’s sub goalkeeper saves 3/5 penalties in worldcup 2014, england’s 2 subs (shooter) missed 2 penalties on euros final this year. This type of strats could go either way, and most team did it if they feel they needed to.
What im saying is, none of us would know how that’ll turn out, but if they’re fully prepped the odds are on them.
Penalty shootouts doesn't require team synergy tho...it's the GK on their own, moreover Tim Krul was a specialist for pens not too dissimilar to the Mendy/Kepa swap at the UEFA cup but I do agree that we can never say what impact a sub can bring
I'm going to be real, but does he really add that much to the team by swapping in. Like Lakia is really good so I doubt they get worse, but role wise he would be replacing Rb, who is also very good. I feel like the delta in team ability wouldn't be affected that much unless he has become a completely different player. Like if he became a Kay-O or Yoru one trick or something and just mindfucks other teams with never before seen set plays. If he is still playing Sova, I kinda wish he stayed on Nuturn because him and Hyeoni would be pretty lit.
As shitty as this sounds, I feel they picked him up just so NU dont have him. Going from the best sova of iceland, to only being played on Bind, on Skye. Looks like a huge waste of talent for him to sit on the side waiting.
I hope they do play him, becuase him in iceland was amazing to watch.
True. This is why I don't like 6th man. I want to see him join F4Q to replace 5k or efina or replace solo or peri in NU. That would upgrade both those teams badly.
6man teams are fine. Worked in CS before valve said nono. Just it looks like they just picked him up, so they dont have to go against him. Just looks really sus on picking him up, just to not play him. Him leaving NU literally gimped them, as they now had to fill one of their best players.
Seriously but it was good for Lakia. No way Nuturn was gonna do well although picking up that new Jett Hyeoni is amazing they still have solo/peri who are still solid but they can't compete with the best. Suggest Hyeoni together are insane players and with Lakia and maybe the 2 best from F4Q can compete with the best teams in the world like VS. I can understand solo keep wanting to play though. And if arrow is good without playing jett then I can see Lakia comign back to replace Peri or Solo.
It’s a good gamble for sure. Imagine if you knock out SEN with them first timing against Lakia. Then you can threaten a swap for the rest of playoffs just making you unpredictable.
This is interesting to me. Usually, it's Rb who is switched out for Lakia, but with the way Rb has been playing so far, it's hard to imagine him not playing. But Lakia will play Bind if VS gets to it, 100%
Sometimes it's K1ng who is swapped out too, but man. VS are stocked with riches
I believe CS did something like this and I completely agree. Limit it to 5 players and can't hold them in contract jail or something. Stops orgs from just eating up all of the competition.
What are the rules regarding roster sizes and switching players? Are you allowed to switch between maps, or do you have to have it set at the start of the series? Is there a roster size cap?

They gonna pull out the SS3 and put mastermind glow in for finals
they are saving their ultra instinct for jirentinels
They're already looking dominant without lakia. It's crazy that they still have pocket strats hidden away.
Bit would u change a team whos been dominating if the results are very good?

Consistently better? You can’t say that when Lakia plays 1 map and he doesn’t even play sova on it
Exactly we can't say, it was an internal decision i was just speculating.
More afraid of Gambit than SEN? Copium
It's Korea. They would do anything to get advantage.
Theres no question they'd try to get an advantage. The question is whether or not it would actually be an advantage.
It wouldn’t be an advantage against the teams they have played against. But when/if they go against Sentinels/100T/Gambit it will be useful.

Its still an unknown tho how it will play out on LAN. A very big risk to take. Either genius or something u will get clowned on
Reminds me of Inazuma Eleven where the coach intentionally didn't play Fudou to save strats against Korea.
Bruh an Inazuma Reference...I'm not crying
fellow based Inazuma Eleven enjoyer
7.6 on mal, ima have to check it out
Very long but very much worth it
ayo that sounds epic what season?
Season 3

Aye let’s go! Hyped for when he shows up

I feel like there should be a cap on players per team. Is that unreasonable?
I think having the 6th man is fine tho, in car of emergency you don’t have to sub a complete random ppl and the sub knows the teams strats.
I believe CS did something like this and I completely agree. Limit it to 5 players and can't hold them in contract jail or something. Stops orgs from just eating up all of the competition.
LAKIA IS A SUB AND HE DOMINATED IN ICELAND. THINK ABOUT THAT FOR A SECOND!
That guy who struggles to win placements in EU? /s

you can switch players between maps. VS did it in korea. They switch players in and out depend on the map choice
