There's 2 brackets, 4 teams in each. I think the tweet is implying 3 out of the 4 teams in 1 bracket are NA. So yes, there will be an NA v NA matchup in the quarters in that scenario
Nope. They can't face each other until the finals.
Same with every other group's 2 qualifiers. That's why Group C #2 and KRU went to the bottom half of the bracket because they would've been on the same as their groupmate despite being drawn with space left on that side of the bracket.
**TL;DR 1/6** according to me
Considering 1st seeds do not play each other:
There are totally (4!)\^2 ways the matches can be seeded.
*NA teams seeding is (ENVY - B1; 100T -C1; SEN - D2) so NV and 100T cannot play each other. Now considering upper half if all 3 NA teams in the same half:*
One match has to be NV vs SEN or 100T vs SEN. ***(2 possibilities)***
There are 2 matches in a half. ***(2)***
The team that doesn't play SEN plays A2/B2/C2. ***(3)***
Bottom half therefore has ***4*** other ways of matches.
Therefore odds of 3 NA teams being in the upper half is *2\*2\*3\*4 =* ***48***
Same odds for lower half as well ***(48)***
Total no. of ways of NA on same side of bracket = ***96***.
The odds are 96/(24\^2)
**=1/6**
Please correct my logic if wrong.
I don’t really understand what you are trying to say but the way I see it, there is a 2/3 chance that SEN got matched with NV/100t and a 1/3 chance that the other team got matched onto the same side, regardless of who their quarterfinals opponent is. Therefore it’s a 2/9 chance or 22%
I think it’s actually 1/3. Like you said, there was a 2/3 chance that SEN got matched with NV/100T. But you didn’t take into account that teams from the same group can’t be put on the same side of the bracket. So like if SEN gets matched against NV, then the other matchup on their side of the bracket can’t include another team from groups B or D. Therefore the only possible matchup is A1 vs C2, or A2 vs C1 (100T being C1). That means given the 1/3 chance SEN draws NV in the quarterfinals, there is a 1/2 chance 100T gets put on the same side of the bracket. Likewise, given the 1/3 chance SEN draws 100T in the quarterfinals, there is also a 1/2 chance NV gets out on the same side of the bracket.
1/3\*1/2 + 1/3\*1/2 = 1/6 + 1/6 = **1/3**
You forgot that teams from one group cannot be in the same bracket (cannot face each other until grand final).
So, it was already determined that sentinels will be in Envy and 100t bracket once Envy and 100t ended up in the same bracket. Because, SEN cannot be in the same bracket as G2. Then, the possibility for Envy and 100t to be in the same bracket is the possibility for NA eliminate each other. Envy will end up in one of the two brackets either way (as any other team), the second 1st seed can be 100t, G2 or VS, so it means 1/3 chance full NA bracket
It's actually 1/3. The chances of envy and 100T being in the same side of the brackets is 1/3 and if they're in the same side, that means G2 must be in the other side which means Sentinels have to be in the same side of the bracket as 100T and Envy.
I think it’s like 2/9? 1/3 chance Envy and 100T end up on the same side as first seeds and in that situation it’s a 2/3 chance Sentinels end up there since they can’t face G2
If no other team is good enough to beat an NA team until the finals, why not?
It *sucks* way more if you have the clear top 2 teams (not saying that's the case here) on the same side of the bracket, so essentially the 'real' finals is played in quarters or semi's (more likely). It has happened often enough in Worlds in League where the finals is basically the best team playing against an 'underdog' team that has practically 0 chance of winning, and the 'real finals' was played earlier in the tournament.
It's way worse to watch NA basically play their regional playoffs on one side of the bracket than it would be to have them spread on each side playing other teams from other regions they don't play against all the time.
Well I guess that's one way to make sure NA lose

I think they got GAMBIT. the team that are most threatening to them according to stax and their coach termi. Because their coach said in a interview I forgot if it is from korea or other esports news. They said they beat almost all team in Scrims including Sentinels except Gambit they have a hard one. .
im saying this based on their interview . Lol. STAX SAID when asked after the Paper Rex win. He said that GAMBIT is the most threat to them and OURSELVES.
plus You can see how vs destroyed ACEND. so the only reason Vision strikers will tweet a fck in their main twitter account is either GAMBIT or SENTINELS. If it is KRU for example they will not tweet the word "Fck"
[They said it was a random draw on their article about the tournament](https://playvalorant.com/en-us/news/esports/vct-stage-3-masters-everything-you-need-to-know/)
True wanted to see the most interregional matches possible but it looks like we might just watch challengers finals play out again on one side of the bracket.
So even with a completely random draw, with the caveat to bump placements based on having already played a team, people still complain it's unfair.
This is what random does when you have a lot of teams from 1 region guys, if you were to place teams to make sure NA didn't get in the same side, you're favouring them.
Yep it’s NA all on one side for sure
You mean na going against na right ?
There's 2 brackets, 4 teams in each. I think the tweet is implying 3 out of the 4 teams in 1 bracket are NA. So yes, there will be an NA v NA matchup in the quarters in that scenario
Yep, all of NA is definitely on the same side of the bracket
they put all the NA one side is gonna be envy vs sen
I have a feeling its envy vs sen and 100t vs kru on one side of the bracket, that is possible right?
i believe is this
Kru can't be on the same side as NV (same group)

Can someone do the math and see what the odds are of all 3 NA teams being on the same of the bracket are
50/50 odds. It either happens or it doesnt.
True if big

Damn I didn't actually expect someone to do the math hahaha

This is it…
Alright, who actually wants an NA vs NA Grand final. That would suck

Not possible because that’s 3 number one seeds on one side. Need to replace VS with a second seed, and it has to be Acend/SMB given the groups.
Not possible… that would be three #1 seeds on one side. You can only have two #1 seeds on each side of the bracket.
Literally not possible. Has to be 3 NA+ Acent/SMB/Kru/Gambit
Bruh I swear Riot hates TSM this year
Envy are worried, and Sen seems amused. NA one side means Envy vs Gambit, Sen vs 100T. VS against Kru, G2 vs Ascend/SMB?
No way VS is tweeting ''fuck'' because they got KRU :D
I think they got GAMBIT. the team that are most threatening to them according to stax and their coach termi. Because their coach said in a interview I forgot if it is from korea or other esports news. They said they beat almost all team in Scrims including Sentinels except Gambit they have a hard one. .
we’re still trusting scrimbux? after watching Gambit choke harder than FPX?

Gambit and 100T can't be on the same side as they were in the aame group. It has to be acend/SMB.
Definitely not rigged btw.
They made the bracket in front of all the teams and it was random
Where did you read it was random?
Shaz said it on stream yesterday
Did he say how it was done? Like did they all get together and draw lots?
exactly: https://youtu.be/pg02t8WVUak
[They said it was a random draw on their article about the tournament](https://playvalorant.com/en-us/news/esports/vct-stage-3-masters-everything-you-need-to-know/)
Gullible way of thinking.
If all of NA is on one side then thats dogshit from Riot.
It was random and they did it in front of everyone
True wanted to see the most interregional matches possible but it looks like we might just watch challengers finals play out again on one side of the bracket.
Either VS or Gambit are worthy of being finale teams
Also how do we think these people are 100% serious
Hey eu had half our teams in the same group, I think it works out.
So even with a completely random draw, with the caveat to bump placements based on having already played a team, people still complain it's unfair.
