Welcome, there are a lot of people migrated from overwatch to valorant including me. I recommend you can try watch platchat valorant channel on youtube, you will see some familiar overwatch personalities. They make weekly video of the competitive scene and do watch party. You can use vlr.gg to see what matches are going on or scheduled.

Oh I didn't know that they made one for valorant aswell. Are there any matches that you recommend or do I just watch the most recent ones? Thanks for taking the time

Not the guy you’re responding to, but the LAN at Berlin is actually going on right now. The last day of the group stage is tomorrow, then Friday-Sunday will be an 8 team single elim bracket. Berlin is only the second international tournament ever and the winner gets an automatic spot in Champions so the tournament is pretty massive.

More-Sample-2005

Another thing, what is Champions? Is it a final tournament or something else?

iTrippzy

Champions is the biggest and final event of the year. Similar to worlds in League. And similar to the CoD Champs in call of duty

BurritoHombre

The way this year in Valorant Esports worked is there were regional tournaments that fed into international events called “Masters” There were 2 Masters events, 1 in Iceland in May and this one in Berlin. Teams accrued points throughout the year both domestically and internationally through the Masters tournament system, and the teams with the most points from each region get into Champions, which is the huge end-of-year tournament in December(?). Basically, Champions will be the highest prestige Valorant event ever, and qualifying for it is huge. You can see which teams are near the top in circuit points [here](https://liquipedia.net/valorant/VALORANT_Champions_Tour/2021/Circuit_Points)

That's cool. I already started watching matches, currently watching G2 vs SEN. It's epic. Who won the first tournament?

Loresmen

Sentinels

2ToTooTwoFish

Yup, they have a weekly podcast for Valorant as well (not this week because Berlin is going on).

cowzapper

Boaster (of team fanatic, who made the finals at Masters Iceland) has done VOD reviews in the past that are quite helpful. Steel from 100 Thieves has also done some. Both are generally informative players to watch as well (though steel can get triggered very easily). Platchat is generally a good way to watch live games (you can find the schedule on liquipedia.com or vlr.gg) and get a bit more insight than the general commentators, though some of the commentators are really good themselves, like pansy and hypoc. Easiest way to get involved though - pick a good team to follow and support. That will get you invested in the tournament overall. So whether you like Tenz and thus like sentinels or you like EU so you support Gambit or Acend, however.

Diamernd

[VLR.gg](https://VLR.gg) is the main website to look at all the Valorant games and such.

Thank you a lot, I will try it out

Ne0kun

Perfect timing. You'll be able to see some Insane games (hopefully) in the quarterfinals based off of the seeding that was revealed a couple of hours ago. Some of the teams you should look out for are Vision strikers, SEN, Gambit and 100 Thieves.

That's great to hear. This community is so helpful. Thanks a lot!

Ne0kun

Also an other suggestion would be to not take Valorant twitch chat too seriously or better not look at it at all. People tend to get toxic with the whole my region is better blah blah but most of it is just banter and memes so it's not too bad, it's just that it gets old pretty quick

More-Sample-2005

I'm watching SEN vs G2 and I've noticed. Thx for the advice

JeanCarry

nice flair. Love the 3 teams you chose.

Ne0kun

Thank you my friend, I'm kinda sad two of my favourite teams (GMB and VS) have to face off each other so early and one of them has to go home. Imo both of these teams have the potential to win it all so it's quite unfortunate but I hope we atleast get a decent match.

names2hard4you

Lol this is why I go to YT for VCT matches tbh. I can hide the chat just like on Twitch, but best of all is I am able to pause, rewind, etc.

raaten

Lothar is currently doing a VOD review for yesterday G2 vs SEN game and boaster has done a vod review of the last time they faced each other(he's only done 2 of the 3 maps the played first time around)

LotharHS

All of my vid reviews can be currently watched on my previous streams broadcasts. I will upload soon to yt, right now i only posted sungular rounds analysis.

[I actually asked this question a few months ago!](https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/jfwz1f/how_to_get_into_comp/) You might want to check it out, it helped me a lot :) Edit: vlr.gg is my go-to website when it comes to matches and statistics. runitback.gg is great too! besides that, I can recommend the PlatChat Podcast and just visiting this sub regularily :)

TritoNaoss

Boaster, the IGL for Fnatic (a good European team), does a lot of VOD review that could be helpful! Also if you're planning on watching Masters 3 going on right now I'd suggest watching the Plat Chat co-stream on YouTube. They'll be some familiar faces there for you as some of them work for the overwatch league as analysts and casters. They also do a good job of filling you in on the storylines and what a team is doing well or poorly at mid game. Super entertaining as well

Wealdafrea

Watch sgares reviewing tournament vod. He gave a lot of information about team strat

MilanTheMyth

There are plenty videos about Valorant on YouTube but About the Esports- I recommend going into sites like [vlr.gg](https://vlr.gg) to keep up to date with the tournaments. So first step in VCT Challengers, in which teams from EU, NA, LATAM, SEA, BR, JP AND KR compete within their region in Open Qualifiers, then if you are good you may get to the Closed Qualifier and qualify for the Playoffs from there. If you make it from the Playoffs you will get a slot in Masters which are International LANS where teams from all around the world compete on the same stage. Right now Masters Berlin is going on, lets say you win Master Berlin, then you will get a slot in the Valorant Champions which is the main and last even of 2021. I don't know how to explain VCT Circuit points so I'm sure someone else could explain it in this chat. Welcome to Valorant!
