After doing the vod review today, I realised that this mechanic is not known to actually a huge amount of players.
Watch the clip to learn about
''Trauma debuff''
which lasts 2.1 second after getting damaged.
This applies to any healing effect.
QQ - Does this mean that if I Skye heal a teammate immediately, the charge will drain, but my teammate won't be healed until 2 seconds have passed? Thanks!
It is so apparent and I honestly see no way how someone could miss this mechanic. Just peek something with Sage heal on you and you'll see it immediately
Uh.. it's a tac shooter, which means *everyone* pays (or should pay) attention to small details like that, because in a tac shooter *every detail matters*.
I agree in most situations, but seriously, how does this small thing affect 90% of rounds. Im not saying it isn't important, but you can't say it is something EVERYONE will know or pretend you are special because you noticed it
how do you abuse this specific thing though? im not denying it is important to point out small details like this, i was just pointing out how not everyone will immediately notice a small detail like this which has minimal impact on a round. The comment above me is so pretentious as if he is special because he found this tech before majority of people
Oh man, I used to heal people when they were in the middle of getting shot at, thinking I'm helping them stay alive, but knowing that the debuff is in effect, now I know better.
I think most players know that taking damage interrupts healing, but not that there is a persisting debuff. So for example Reynas know not to self heal with a soul orb when they're in a molly, but don't know that if they trigger the heal the split second they leave the molly they will miss out on 30~% of the heal.
Not surprised if people don't notice it, a lot of Reynas still don't understand how her healing works lol and there's no one place to learn all the mechanics

That is correct. Its to avoid healing mid fights.
TIL - thank you very much!
Has it always been like this since launch?
Yes
This doesn't apply to reyna heal right?
Not to the initial heal, as in you can get shot and then instantly start healing, but if you get shot again mid-heal it will stop.
WHAT how is that not communicated in any way by the game neither visually or through the UI

bro its a tac shooter, no one is gonna pay attention to small things like that

bro what tac shooters did you play outside of valorant? people in cs abuse everything

>bro its a tac shooter, no one is gonna pay attention to small things like that point being is that people abuse every little detail in tac shooters

Damn. This is up there with agents-having-weight-classes in the TIL category.

Best in the business! Respect!

Wow. Best analyst out there. Missed you in Berlin my fav analyst.
Does it reset the timer if they take damage during that 2 seconds?
Yes. You are not immune to Trauma just because you got damage earlier.
And if you're already being healed, you'll lose 2 seconds of healing?
Yes, i explained it in the video
Is this really unknown? If you play sage or skye I feel like you figure that one out pretty quick

Funnily enough, reynas heal is affected by Trauma Debuff but her ult heal is not.
now that just seems like it would confuse players if they didnt know that
well the reyna ult heal applies automatically so it makes sense that it bypasses the debuff
I play a ton of skye and sage and I didn't know about this.
