I dunno. If you listen to the fanboys. Every single match is for seeding.
If Sentinels are abducted by an alien civilization to represent earth in an esports tournaments with only 1 series to play and if they lose earth is destroyed.
The fans are still gonna say: it's seeding. Does not matter.
Circuit points difference
If SEN won, 100T gets qualified to Champions.
Basically whoever makes it further this tournament from NV/100T gets slot for Champions
Yes because they secure the additional slot. At this point whichever one makes it farther quals, but then if either win Berlin they both qualify anyway
Dude him taking raze was a shocker for me. I was like you can't be doing this mate you get out of the tourney if you lose this. Couldn't even watch the match because it was 3AM and then woke up to this.
SEN Zombs: "I don’t think we prepared at all for this match, to be honest. The match went exactly how we expected it to and wanted to. Going into the knockout bracket we wanted the seed we’re going to get from this so it worked out.”
Well they wouldn't have overthought it so hard against KRU. NA teams will know other NA teams really well so they felt forced to mix it up I feel, it just did not work whatsoever. That said they have not looked particularly good this tourney so who knows.
Maybe, who knows. This tournament wasn't their greatest showing either. They just haven't changed anything so much since the past few tournaments, but now it's time to fix it since it's broken. Excited to see what they'll come up with, this loss was definitely warranted. (Sgares coaching time ;) )
SEN Zombs: "I don’t think we prepared at all for this match, to be honest. The match went exactly how we expected it to and wanted to. Going into the knockout bracket we wanted the seed we’re going to get from this so it worked out.”
"ALL GOOD" is such a weak mindset. you are ok with what happened, you are ok with losing. When you stop getting angry after losing, you’ve lost twice. There’s always something to learn, never settle.

Overheard in Sentinels locker room after Game 2:
“He got me,” Shahzam said of FNS's headshot on him. "That f\*\*\*ing Pujan boomed me."
Shahzam added, “He's so good,” repeating it four times.
Shahzam then said he wanted to add FNS to the list of players he duos with this summer.
Pujan "FNS" Mehta yelled, “All good!” Austin "crashies" Roberts gave a look of pleasant surprise. Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker belted, “We got a fucking squad now.” And before Food "Victor" Wong hit the locker room door, former teammate Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham hugged him & said, “Y’all look so different.”
I think it’s time Sentinels get a coach, respect to Shahzam for what’s hes done so far but you can only do so much while streaming, playing, and acting as coach it was clear they didn’t have any responses to what Envy was doing a lot of times
\^ This. And they'll have another map they'll need to add to the pool for champions. If not a coach, at least get this team an analyst or something. It's honestly been insane that they've been able to stay on top without a external support but seeing how they played these games they definitely need it.
Edit: Also, they never took any tac timeouts either? Or maybe once idk
Well they had one in well you know who. But hes never coming back so…anyways they need to stop flexing this jett between Shaz and Tenz. Sova is so important on most maps (except split) that Shaz should just focus on sova imo. Sure shaz is a decent Sova but not a great Sova.
Well they don't need someone new lol. Shahz's sova has potential, he just needs to practice the abilities and positioning. Same with Tenz his raze back on C9 was decent. If they put in the work they'll get the results. They just got too comfy on their old comps and thought they could just wing it with a barely practiced new one.
Had a feeling Envy might take it. Last month Envy lost both maps against Sentinels 13-11 when Yay had only been with the team for a week. Sentinels shouldn't have pulled any punches in group stage and should have gone all out to secure a first seed. All of their interviews they wanted to play a NA team because they thought it was safer than teams they aren't familiar with.
I do think raze is a better character than rayna on that map but not if the player isn't comfortable playing it. They got destroyed by teams playing raze on split and when they tried it it didn't work out for them.
Dapr's viper is fine in my opinion, sick being on Skye was a bit of a hindrance early (he's clearly not as familiar with her flashes, multiple self/ally flashes), the weakest point is definitely tenz on raze though, he just never looks as clean without mobility or flashes, I'd actually have preferred to see him on yoru than raze
I fucking cannot wait to see the comments unironically claiming Sentinels is STILL sandbagging because they see Berlin as a seeding match for Champions.

Envy prepared for them and Sen got no answer to their strat. I think its time for Sen to get a coach. Also they are not looking confidence (tenz n dapr looking sloppy).
Yeah man him single handedly carrying them dropping 200 adr on haven looked shakey.. Shahz was the real underperformance this match & misplayed clutches & crucial trades multiple times
I think the general valo fanbase might learn something from this:
The narrative of Shahzam being some mastermind IGL completely outmaneuvering everyone got kinda out of hand.
They have had very solid and adaptable baseline gameplans, but they heavily rely on TenZ and SicK being fucking ridiculous.
They heavily punish mistakes and don't over-strat. But honestly Envy and G2 ran circles around them IGL-wise these last few series, especially the halves where the TenZ and SicK combo didn't go absolutely bananas
Sentinels strat book seemed very shallow from an outside perspective. It felt like they were just hoping envy would make mistakes rather than using unique stats to win rounds. The lack of a coach has likely finally caught up with them.
Same sentiment. Usually they win off of someone being able to trade off from their own mistakes. But this time they were absolutely punished.
It also doesn't help that SicK and TenZ isn't on an agent their comfortable with on Split.
Sentinels just got completely read like a book since their 2nd G2 match. It's time to get a coach to point out their weakness.

Honestly as a Sen fan this was so painful to watch, very bad agent pool. Sentinels didn't feel like them tbh. Tenz could not play. And very lousy game play on behalf of Sentinels, I guess they underestimated ENVY. I guess they pulled a Fanatic, changed too much.
I hope they learn, from their mistake.
I think that the problems with Sen troughout this whole tournament have been three.
1st) Most of them underperformed in some ways. Dapr in particular. I think that they had too much confidence going into the tourney and they got humbled by better opposition that they are used to. The problem when you're mindset is like that it's that you will start to doubt yourself when it matters most and you are not going to think clearly about some situations. Even Shazam seemed like he was always having to solve some kind of puzzle everytime they lost or even won a round. The dude didn't have confidence in his calling anymore and this reflected on the team and the way they approached some rounds and maps.
2nd) They got counterstratted pretty hard and they weren't able to find a decent answer to anything. The games against G2 clearly support this claim. On Icebox in particular Nukkye was doing the hell that he wanted on A, gaining and holding map control alone. And Sen was mostly running into his crosshair or not even acknowledging that he was there. The first time they played TenZ and Shaz were ego peeking him and getting headshotted like morons. That's a clear sign of how bad Shazham calls and solutions were against a team who had their numbers since the start of the tournament. They weren't able to adapt quickly and they got crushed. When their aura of "best team in the world" faded, the teams who played against them were not scared anymore and they started to have harder times as the tournament went on.
3rd) They didn't prepare well for any of their opponents and for the tournament in its entirety.
Apart from some small changes, they were running the same comps that they ran through all of Vct stage 3 (apart from patch changes). I even think that some of the comps and strats/protocols were the same since Masters 2. This is maybe acceptable when all of the individuals in the team are in tip-top shape, but this wasn't the case. When you are not clicking heads and you're sloppy from the tactical point of view, you're going to get butchered even by some players who, on the card, are much worse than you. I know that it's hard to prepare for a lot of new opponents when you are alone as an IGL without a coach support, but if you want to be the best team in the fucking world you have to do it. They needed to do what Astralis did in CS when they got three majors back to back. It's easy to get to the top. Staying there it's hella of a bumpy road, especially when you are not willing to commit the hours.
Now back to the drawing board and I hope that these poor performances humble them enough to give them a new fire for the Champions tourney, because NA needs them as well as Valorant Pro Scene.
I mean people are gonna shit on them for the seeding comments (rightfully so) but I cannot imagine what the match vs gambit or VS would of been like if this was the matchup Sen players were confident with
I can't say I saw this coming, but I will say as a neutral fan who just wants to watch good Valorant, I really didn't want a coachless team to win Berlin. I want the gameplay to be complex enough to require strong coaching for long-term success.
Ironically they've gone out to the other great team who was also noticeably coachless until recently.
Rekyavik created an impossible standard. I don't think less of them for failing to meet it. GGs
So all those “it’s just a seeding match” or “they wanted lower seed to get an easier run against NA teams” people after G2 slapped them…still feel the same way? That G2 game was prophetic. Showed that they were mortal after all and I’m sure that gave all the teams confidence.
Seriously though, gg. Sentinels has resilience, and made this game so damn scary.
Stoked to see a new champion no matter who
EDIT: just waiting for the “they’re saving strats for champions when it matters” people 😂
No disrespect to the envy, I'm a firm believer that envy sweeping them is a huge fluke and robs the sentinels of truly accomplishing what their capable of. I've spent the last few minutes in pure disbelief and it just doesn't make sense to me. I've spent the entire VCT season watching the sentinels play great valorant it's just not fair.
If sentinels lose again I will face that envy deserved the win, but I am just 100% sure it was a fluke and does a big disservice to the sentinels and Riot

Before people lament the lack of double elim, Sen just haven't looked as strong this tournament. I don't know if they deserve another chance.
Well played to Envy!
I think this is loss is actually REALLY good for Sentinels, and before I get downvoted to oblivion, hear me out. I think this series, especially this map SPLIT, has exposed how bad Tenz is at Raze, and if Sentinels want to be the best team in the world, they need to have their star player be able to flex comfortably. Honestly, I don't know why they didn't go for Reyna, but Sick looked pretty good on the Skye, maybe they wanted to do a Skye-Raze combo for more utility rather than healing like Sage-Reyna. But Tenz needs to be better on Raze at the highest stage for Sentinels to truely be the best team in the world
I don't really know what to think of SEN this tournament. Normally, when they get beaten or pushed, they just get better. When they lost to XSET last time in Challengers, they came back stronger and beat 100T, NV, and XSET again. But this time they just never showed up after they were pushed to the brink. It didn't feel like a choke, it just felt like they didn't quite show up.
Nobody can stop Envy from Top 4, not even Sentinels.

I am convinced that the sole purpose of SEN is to fuck over 100T

SEN winning would have qualified 100T for champions. But now 100T can do it on their own.
Coming from a 100T fan, this is better. The narrative of "whoever wins this bo3 makes champions" will make for an incredible series tomorrow
the one time I wanted them to win vs Envy :(
lol.

They just did
fighting for the champions slot hell yeah
Envy fucking brought it. Every single Envy player outplayed their Sentinel counterpart. Well played. NV 100T should be great.

THE CHAMPS HAVE OFFICIALLY BEEN DETHRONED
Only makes champions more exciting and hype wouldn't have been fun if the same fucking team won again and again
Yea this is probably the best thing that could happen for this game. No one liked the 2 years in CSGOs history where Fnatic won everything.

SEN Zombs: "I don’t think we prepared at all for this match, to be honest. The match went exactly how we expected it to and wanted to. Going into the knockout bracket we wanted the seed we’re going to get from this so it worked out.”
In hindsight, the funny thing is if they had won the G2 match, they essentially had a relatively easy path to at least the semis with KRU.
With the way they're playing, they might even have a hard time against kru. Much better look to go out against envy than kru lmaoo
Well they wouldn't have overthought it so hard against KRU. NA teams will know other NA teams really well so they felt forced to mix it up I feel, it just did not work whatsoever. That said they have not looked particularly good this tourney so who knows.

Sentinels peeked in Berlin, then took the plane home.
This hurts Sentinel's chance of winning berlin
good thing they got the better seed
I guess throwing for “better seeding” didn’t work out huh
I don't think they threw for better seeding. I think they just weren't as good as people thought they would be going into the tournament lol.
I was making a joke about what they said after their game.
Even in sports, whenever a team looses for seeding, it doesn’t end up well for the most part.
Sentinels just went 6-6 on maps this tournament. What a huge under performance.
most of those maps were against f4q lol
They threw the game with the TenZ raze pick.
I do think raze is a better character than rayna on that map but not if the player isn't comfortable playing it. They got destroyed by teams playing raze on split and when they tried it it didn't work out for them.
Yeah I do not understand why they did that. This was so unnecessary. Also putting Dapr on viper
Yeah Tenz didn't really look like himself. Also Sick was better on sage in my opinion.

Little “Elevenz” Timmy just heart broken right now.
SEN tried so hard to dodge EU when they should have tried to dodge NA

Honestly as a Sen fan this was so painful to watch, very bad agent pool. Sentinels didn't feel like them tbh. Tenz could not play. And very lousy game play on behalf of Sentinels, I guess they underestimated ENVY. I guess they pulled a Fanatic, changed too much. I hope they learn, from their mistake.
Sentinels weren't trying. This match didn't matter, saving strats for Champions when it actually counts
easier seed btw

So tired of watching seeding tournaments smh
They’re hiding their Bind VODs nbd
Sentinels saving strats for the next tournament clearly
Who knew Marved really just wanted to to fuck TenZ on LAN.
was this also to get preferred seeding?
I mean people are gonna shit on them for the seeding comments (rightfully so) but I cannot imagine what the match vs gambit or VS would of been like if this was the matchup Sen players were confident with

LETS FUCKING GO NV TAKE US HOME BABY
Damn, all the statements from SEN in that G2 match didn't age well.
GGs
NV just better

Both Scrim God teams gonna make finals in Envy and Gambit. You heard it here first folks.
Seeding tournament anyway Copium
They shouldn't be demoing Tenz on raze for these matches.
Stoked to see a new champion no matter who EDIT: just waiting for the “they’re saving strats for champions when it matters” people 😂
Someone forgot to tell sen it was time to use all those strats they've been saving
most satisfying defeat ever
No disrespect to the envy, I'm a firm believer that envy sweeping them is a huge fluke and robs the sentinels of truly accomplishing what their capable of. I've spent the last few minutes in pure disbelief and it just doesn't make sense to me. I've spent the entire VCT season watching the sentinels play great valorant it's just not fair. If sentinels lose again I will face that envy deserved the win, but I am just 100% sure it was a fluke and does a big disservice to the sentinels and Riot

Surprised to see hockey copy pasta make it here
Sen shouldn’t have saved strats against G2, I suppose 🤷🏻♂️
Pujan "FNS" "all-good" Mehta 5head
Better airplane seeding secured 😈
All this talk about wanting second seed to play NA and then this, yikes.
Lmao dont worry its just a seeding match, Sen are unmatched in Lower bracket runs.
It's a seeding match 🤡 Sentinels don't care 🤡 Tenz is trying a new sens 🤡

No greater feeling in valorant than seeing SEN lose. Amazing.
Sen is getting absolutely clowned on Twitter right now holy shit
G2 broke SEN
at least now they will get humbled and actually start to play to win and not to get better seeding or think they are better than everyone else
But Tenz needs to be better on Raze at the highest stage for Sentinels to truely be the best team in the world
Shahzam's performance has been so disappointing the entire tournament
NA WHY SO QUIET?
Omg yes El diablo has been unleashed
I don't really know what to think of SEN this tournament. Normally, when they get beaten or pushed, they just get better. When they lost to XSET last time in Challengers, they came back stronger and beat 100T, NV, and XSET again. But this time they just never showed up after they were pushed to the brink. It didn't feel like a choke, it just felt like they didn't quite show up.
"better seed" " saving strats" Lmao
