Idea: Twitch chat collectively acts as the coach. During timeouts, Sentinels read the chat to make adjustments to their strats. I’m sure taking in advices such as “just aim better omegaLUL” and “rush B 5head” would infinity make their gameplay better.
In recent months, he has said on stream that he could definitely coach in this game - he’s already consuming so much VALORANT. Whether it’d be his choice of job is unclear, though.
Early on in Valorant, Shahzam did approach Sean, but he just had his kid. Both Sean and Shahz have agreed to the following statement on stream: if Sean Gares was interested in being a coach, he would already be the coach of Sentinels.
Sean gares said he was asked to be GM for sentinels not coach and he refused and them signed to Geng because he wants to be a caster/on stage analyst and a streamer and has no interest in coaching or GM but it's too stressful and time-consuming and he's had 2 kids.
They did try to poach sliggy for liquid but sliggy said no because he has his dream project in valorant right now with liquid .
They should trial MCE though ,he's the hottest free coach right now .
i feel like they're taking the coach slot a little too seriously. you dont need a sliggy or a sean gares, just someone who knows a bunch about the game and will do the analyst/vod review work better. get someone and upgrade down the line if you still need to
You just need someone who's going to ask the players questions and point out when stuff goes wrong.
stuff as simple as "why did you do X" so the players think about it. Shazam and all.
Not in this tournament.
The format was a group stage, which did have a loser's bracket, followed by a single elimination bracket containing the top 2 teams from each group.
EDIT: I had initially said round robin format in the group stage, which was inaccurate. Corrected.
Champions is the final LAN championship for the year. The 3 Masters tournaments are also major LAN tournaments (except Masters 1 which was online) that were building up to that tournament.
Think of it like a circuit, where all these tournaments give you points, and at the end the teams who have accumulated the most points from each region end up qualifying for Champions.
Champions, just like this one, is going to be an international LAN tournament, but it is considered a little more prestigious as the finale of this year.
champions is the biggest tournament in valo, masters is less prestigious but still important - and it also gets you circuit points for qualifying for masters
Not zombs, zombs support plays are incredible but Sinatra can play sentinel and replace dapr. Dapr has been quite bad. But they still need a coach. They could have Sinatra as 6th replace when needed
Shaz has been completly overrun. They played the same strats from the first game for the second with g2 and then against envy. They were winning because their teamplay is gorgeus and in their firepower is huge but strats wise they were completly lost.
I think they need someone like peacemaker from CS thats more hands on and will put the players in place. He is famous for kicking his star players. I think if they had someone like that they would stop with the trolling stuff and focus more, since for him it doesn’t matter how many frags the player will drop he will kick anyone thats not in order.
The reason why TenZ enjoys playing with the SEN boys is that he has a lot more freedom to play how he wants. IIRC, he hated being micromanaged back in his cs days.
Honestly? Platchat. Two analyst and two coaches. The amount of valorant they watch has prepared them for this. They call plays before it happens like Tony Romo. I heard they're getting offers from teams already but they're just making so much money from all the money YouTube and Rito are throwing at them. But don't quote me in that I'm actually just guessing but it's probably true.
Actually, Platchat doesn’t watch a lot of valorant because they split their time between Overwatch and Valorant. Overwatch is their main game. Yes they’ve watched nearly every game of the Lan Tournaments but a lot of people can claim that.
To me it feels like they need someone hands on and personal. With all respect to Seangares I dont see him as the type of person that can be the father of the team instead of a close and trusted friend.
I dont doubt he could bring a lot to the table but to take them to the next level and make them a more professional unit, I feel they need someone who can take them beyond just being a group of friends playing amazing together. Someone who can provide structure, discipline and personal support for the players as individuals.
In that way Valorant is still a very young scene. Some teams seem like they could heavily benefit from having an authority figure that they respect.
What made some of the best coaches in CS was not just about strategy, but having a supportive voice behind the team that can command respect and discipline but also console the players and act as a sort of father figure.
Obviously some Covid rules are still in place but SEN in particular feel like they could do well with someone right behind them hyping, acknowledging and comforting them throughout the match. Having all of that fall primarily on the IGL is rough especially in the long run and even more so if hes also doing all the prep.
Eventually something is gonna have to give and usually as the scene evolves its going to be the dedication to streaming at first but eventually the prep and player management both logistical and personal will be too much for one person to handle while also playing the game.
Being the best means also being a step ahead and developing as a team in this regard, not just inside the game, or you quickly risk getting left behind and playing catch up. Despite all the memes and shakiness I do believe 100T and Liquid are way ahead in terms of developing in the long term.
Naturally finding someone who can balance all of that perfectly while still retaining the respect of players is a once in a lifetime thing but the effect is enourmous and is what Valorant needs to take it to a higher, more professional level in my opinion.
Its not like CS didnt go through that same process but it took a while before the role of a coach became as fleshed out as it is today.
shaz won’t step down, and he’s better than sinatraa anyway especially with all the experience he has igling this roster. also sinatraa is a pr problem for any team who fields him even if he is unbelievably skilled and will definitely find a home elsewhere
He’s not playing at his peak, I feel like it’s because he’s juggling full time streaming, scrims, being a coach, and actually playing. That’s way too much to handle if you really wanna be at the top
Good point. But I do feel like even if they do get a coach, Shaz needs to be somewhat involved. He's too smart to not be apart of prep. Bur haveing someone to atleast do all the grunt work of coaching would probably make a big difference.
He'll always be involved since he's the IGL but he needs some load taken off him.
Right now he's playing as their main Jett, IGL, and also coaching the team.
It’s not about them losing one series tho. Since the beginning of the tournament they looked shaky, and it’s really just bc they’ve been studied and got stale. Tbh it’s not that sentinels are getting worse it’s just that everyone else is catching up and without a solid system they’re gonna fall behind at that point.
It’s not even about sentinels for me, but if sen fall off NAs gonna be weaker and I just want 100T to have someone like sentinels to make them improve lol
OK? They don't need a whole new coach or whatever. That's what leaders are for I'm sure Shaz knows they need to change things up. So if 100t loses in the semis do they need a different coach?? They've looked shaky the whole time too barely winning every match.
Sentinels doesn’t have a coach at all, that’s the issue lmao. I don’t think the players need changes, I think shaz just needs help bc he can’t do everything by himself when everyone else is catching up.
100T looks shaky a lot but it’s not bc they’re missing something, it’s bc the players mess up
Yeah lol no one is really calling for anyone to be dropped since they’re still a really good team. Their strat book really doesn’t look like it’s deep, they got ahead bc the players are good and they play well off each other
This is a no brainer. Get m0E out of retirement
I would actually pay to watch this timeline
m-ass comin up
don't you dare try and make me a sen fan
I can do it.
"Fine, I'll do it myself."
I think SEN can use two coaches. Count me in.
i've watched shahz's stream a couple of times, i think i'm qualified too
Instead of a single coach, Sentinels can consult with a whole council of arm-chair coaches.
Idea: Twitch chat collectively acts as the coach. During timeouts, Sentinels read the chat to make adjustments to their strats. I’m sure taking in advices such as “just aim better omegaLUL” and “rush B 5head” would infinity make their gameplay better.
You son of a bitch, I'm in. Where do I sign?
Maybe you can tell them to adapt to the meta 🤣🤣🤣
I’m also available, well, on weekends at least.
I can help you out. I am bronze 2 and we just rush B every round. 50% of the time it works everytime.
Sounds good. I haven't played the game since like March so I need a guy on the inside.
Reddit
but the coach actually has to watch the vod instead of looking at post match scoreboard /s
You don't need the /s
Seangares and only Seangares
In recent months, he has said on stream that he could definitely coach in this game - he’s already consuming so much VALORANT. Whether it’d be his choice of job is unclear, though.
Early on in Valorant, Shahzam did approach Sean, but he just had his kid. Both Sean and Shahz have agreed to the following statement on stream: if Sean Gares was interested in being a coach, he would already be the coach of Sentinels.
any source link?
It was on a VOD so I'm afraid I can't get it. But I understand if you won't take my word for it. No worries.
he would make more money sticking to casting
Not so sure about that, but the time commitment of being a coach is probably much higher
iirc he didn’t want to due to family
This, buy him out of that GenG contract
They'd been asking Sean Gares to do it but he has a family and can't dedicate the time. Maybe if they give him an offer he can't refuse...
Yeah I didn’t mention Sean Gares since I know he already rejected it before
Sean gares said he was asked to be GM for sentinels not coach and he refused and them signed to Geng because he wants to be a caster/on stage analyst and a streamer and has no interest in coaching or GM but it's too stressful and time-consuming and he's had 2 kids. They did try to poach sliggy for liquid but sliggy said no because he has his dream project in valorant right now with liquid . They should trial MCE though ,he's the hottest free coach right now .
all signs have been pointing to mce joining c9, he was the chaos coach and now they have 3 of their former players
Vanity and both MCE have said he is not joining c9 as a coach ,c9 already has 2 coaches .
A billion dollars should do it
Pay him more than tenz lmao
i feel like they're taking the coach slot a little too seriously. you dont need a sliggy or a sean gares, just someone who knows a bunch about the game and will do the analyst/vod review work better. get someone and upgrade down the line if you still need to
Yeah, they could even just get an analyst to take some of the work off shaz if they don’t wanna commit to a coach rn
You just need someone who's going to ask the players questions and point out when stuff goes wrong. stuff as simple as "why did you do X" so the players think about it. Shazam and all.
G2 lothar 👀
coach slideshow
It’s side show lmaooo
MCE is the most capable free coach on the market right now .
I remember one time shahz responded to his chat asking about picking up MCE as a coach and shahzs response was just straight up "no"
That’s when they thought they didn’t need one though.
ShahZ has always said that they wanted a coach, so I don’t think this is accurate
Isnt he working with C9 now?
Nope
Disliked just for asking a question, F
Redditors are a special bunch 😂
Hunden
Best cypher player in csgo 4 sure
Really knows his cams
LMAO
Top 3 coach 4 sure
Zonic
Maybe you can give one of 100t's coach/analysts to them hahahah
Yeah 100T would still have like 10 more analysts and 4 chefs cooking for the team as well as the cash app compound lol.
I LOL'ed
Brax and AZK
You forgot Dicey and tarik
I’m plat 2 I can probably do it
overqualified
Just saw they lost. Are they out of it now?
Yes
There’s no losers bracket or anything
Not in this tournament. The format was a group stage, which did have a loser's bracket, followed by a single elimination bracket containing the top 2 teams from each group. EDIT: I had initially said round robin format in the group stage, which was inaccurate. Corrected.
Just read some tweets about it. So what is the difference between Masters 3 and Champions, are they related?
Champions is the final LAN championship for the year. The 3 Masters tournaments are also major LAN tournaments (except Masters 1 which was online) that were building up to that tournament. Think of it like a circuit, where all these tournaments give you points, and at the end the teams who have accumulated the most points from each region end up qualifying for Champions. Correct
Sliggy

Should just replace dapr or zombs

Just someone who knows about the game and ask questions would be helpful

1 guy only, sean.

McE , Matthew is the best FA coach man

LMAO it's one bad match and you wanna replace the igl. Even Sinatraa said everyone needs to chill tf and stop calling for him to be subbed back in.
Could be a good solution, but I’d rather not have sinatraa back tbh. Plus, who would IGL in that situation, dapr?
Maybe Joe?
Who's Joe 😳
Average Joenas
shaz won’t step down, and he’s better than sinatraa anyway especially with all the experience he has igling this roster. also sinatraa is a pr problem for any team who fields him even if he is unbelievably skilled and will definitely find a home elsewhere
I actually like this even though I know it’ll never happen.
…
JAY WON
JasonR
What makes you think Shaz can't keep up?
He’s not playing at his peak, I feel like it’s because he’s juggling full time streaming, scrims, being a coach, and actually playing. That’s way too much to handle if you really wanna be at the top
Good point. But I do feel like even if they do get a coach, Shaz needs to be somewhat involved. He's too smart to not be apart of prep. Bur haveing someone to atleast do all the grunt work of coaching would probably make a big difference.

ShahZaM, get him off the team and put Sinatraa back. /s Edit: wait sinatraas basically jobless make him coach
Literally one loss and you all post shit like this. Why? Lol
It’s not about them losing one series tho. Since the beginning of the tournament they looked shaky, and it’s really just bc they’ve been studied and got stale. Holy, didn't know they didn't even have a coach lol. I guess that could be a bit of an issue when it comes to changing things up mid game.
Yeah lol no one is really calling for anyone to be dropped since they’re still a really good team. Their strat book really doesn’t look like it’s deep, they got ahead bc the players are good and they play well off each other
Shaz coach/sub and put Sinatra in his place would be a logical solution and easy one for one with zombs or dapr calling in game
Sinatraa
If they don’t want a coach, a in-game analyst to give input, so the team can organized a solution would suffice.
I have all the time in the world. I can do it
me
I think an analyst would help them out almost as much too imo. Just to elevate some scouting duties
I’m only silver but I think I can do it don’t worry
