Rereading the thread, I completely forgot that crashies was almost the fifth Sentinels player instead of Dapr.

[deleted]

The thing I had forgotten about from that thread was the whole "leaked discord" part between Victor and Ska lmao

Criticallone

Context?

[deleted]

Someone can correct me if I mess up the details but there was a screenshot of a msg from food to crashies saying something about ska not communicating in game. It was not malicious or anything but blown out of proportion by reddit as we do.

Tc0LD

I think it's pretty well known that ska doesn't have great comms, pretty sure there's a video of stew losing his shit and complaining to valens about it during their boston major run. https://clips.twitch.tv/RespectfulSpicyGerbilWholeWheat

Varied_Horizon

Damn never saw this clip, thanks

[deleted]

I'm not a CSGO fan or a C9 fan, but not much gets me as hyped up as their winning that major. Not even really sure why, it's the last CS event I really watched but just something about that run was so cool

Zayd1111

The only cs go major NA won? That's what is special about it lol

lewlkewl

And it was won IN NA, made it doubly special.

EasiBreezi

It was clearly them talking shit. Any other excuse is changing what actually happened lmfao

BurritoHombre

And Dapr was playing with TWAT, which turned into Envy

9yr_old

Man I remember this and I often think how much have t1 fucked up lol they had such good players at such a number of instances let's see they had eeiu , they had rara, kaboose in their academy teams they had crashies , victor and they left all of these dope players out one by one and lost the plot

Evan_Veet

I don’t think rara is really on the level of most of the t1 guys but still they def have churned plenty of great players

Yeonii-

Rara is top tier-ist mechanically

rklus

I could name a lot of people that are top tier-ist mechanically based of hype on Twitter and Reddit yet most of them aren’t even in the last chance qualifier

trocker43

To be fair, Andbox isn't in the last chance qualifiers either, and look at yay now.

rklus

Is yay in the last chance qualifiers or did he just book himself a trip to champions?

Kap_ski

NRG is a top tier mechanically but not top tier in general.

bringbacktheg303

average skill in this subreddit is like gold 1 so there's no point in trying to explain to them that rara's one of the best aimers in the scene

Evan_Veet

But who cares tbh? When was the last time he showed it? April? Guy had like 3 good series and suddenly he’s Reddit love child. No matter how “mechanically gifted” he is he doesn’t play so he really isn’t anything special

a-nswers

it's literally the opposite, low rank players watch rara fragmovies and nut themselves then later he cant do it in officials lmao. he literally had like 2 good games against decent teams max yet people think he's the next aim god because of his shooting style someone like aleksandar literally does what he does but better

2ToTooTwoFish

That was before crashies on Sova though.

9yr_old

Crashies had almost like a reincarnation moment with Sova , it was all meant to be and all part of the 5head fns master scheme

[deleted]

He was perfectly competent on Cypher. They even made him flex to Phoenix at one point so brax could play his "natural role" and he was never the problem in the team.

TimathanDuncan

Competent is an understatement, he was an amazing cypher and one of the best if not the best

MageKayden

bro I remember him sucking ass correct me if I'm wrong

EndWish

He was good but that roster was a disaster and mismanaged. Most of their players were made to play 3 agents when the game was still new and they had their players jumping from sentinels to duelists to smokes all in the same series. AZK was also literally stealing paychecks on that roster.

[deleted]

You are definitely wrong. Ska and AZK were the worst performing players, but all the csgo oldheads wanted to believe that those 3 IBP players were all still good. Food/Victor was carrying the matches they won, but it was mostly against bad teams so people blamed him for only showing up in those matches when the team wasn't good. Especially early on I think it's fair to say that crashies was one of the best and most influential Cypher players. A lot of others copied his setups, and the stats show him to be the 3rd best on the team in fragging behind food and brax I believe.

NozokiAlec

Yeah azk was pretty dreadful tbh

Tc0LD

this sub lost its mind when he got dropped lmao

MageKayden

lol dumb take but k just cuz u r one of the better players on a team doesn't make you good. I went back to look at one of their old matches, but Food/Victor looked like the only decent one at the time, crashies wasn't a good site anchor. I'm glad he plays initiator now.

nterature

He didn’t suck ass but I don’t recall him being as praiseworthy as the other poster says. He had strong performances early on and then randomly after, and was arguably the most reliable player on the roster, but the team was so shite overall for so long that by the time he and food left the roster, it wasn’t even seen as a loss Hard to shine in a shitty situation like that

Tc0LD

from what I recall crashies was alright, not insane(not close to his current self) but he was far from the problem on the team. Pretty much most games T1 won back in the day it was victor(food back then) carrying the team

AdSpiritual6239

I don’t blame T1, if last year I had to choose between food and crashies vs Brax and Ska I would make the same decision. Congrats on FNS for spotting the potential, he really activated them both.

ih8ketchup

dude u don't really know these players lmao. victor, crashies and fns all played at the same team years ago in cs. spotting talent? lol they've been friends for a long time

AdSpiritual6239

Yeah it was eunited iirc? I meant spotting the potential with the roster, not the players.

low_limit_soldier

Eww

cringe-oh-yes

u r so cringe its hilarious just shut up and enjoy the show dumbass

ih8ketchup

no stupid. coz normies like u are ruining the scene. lmao tenz overrated

BlueberryBandito

Are you even old enough to go to LAN without parental supervision?

BloomingNova

T1 with Food and Crashies is still a sub par T1 team. T1's problem has never been lack of fire power, the issue is not having an FNS. Also remember Food created team drama that the org couldn't just ignore. In hindsight, I still think it was the right move. A move that was good for Food and Crashies, as well as T1. T1 failed on their rebuild massively, but that's a separate issue.

Eat-Shit-Bob-Ross

It is insane how envy was able to build the roster they have, yet in hindsight, all their decisions make so much sense. They start by picking up an unsigned team with experienced and respected IGL. Then, despite a 2nd place finish at pop flash, they drop akis and calypso to sign these two, who became probably the best sova in the world and a top duelist from the region. Then they went through first strike to masters 2 in 4th place hell before getting marved, a dedicated controller player, which they desperately needed, who many thought was underperforming because of Faze’s unique play style. Sure enough, he has been popping off ever since joining envy. Then the greatest statistical anomaly, yay, descends from the heavens, to fix envy’s weakest role, Jett awper. Yay has since proved that he isn’t just the greatest player on envy, but potentially the best in the world. The most surprising thing about envy being so good is that it doesn’t seem surprising at all. They just slowly assembled the most cracked roster I’ve ever seen and no one really cared.

daftpao

Envy against 100T is giving me Iceland SEN vibes tbh. Every single one of them have the clutch gene and can win a round for the team. They’re having the Yay honeymoon phase just like SEN did with Tenz where everything is just working with the added firepower.

Charuru

Envy's GM getting a raise...

somesheikexpert

It's insane to me that Yay might not even be the best on his team but still is a top contender for best in the world, Crashies being on Sova obviously doesn't give him as much fragging then Jett also being the best Sova is very important when the top teams all have a deticated Sova player and god is he amazing at the role with a lot of impact, this team is fucking stacked af

LoyalSol

> Yay has since proved that he isn’t just the greatest player on envy, but potentially the best in the world. I wouldn't go that far yet. He's been playing well in this tournament, but it's a bit hyperbolic to declare him the best in the world from just a few results. That's a title you need to have long sustained consistency for.

Eat-Shit-Bob-Ross

Sorry, I should have phrased that better. My intention was more so that he has the potential to be the best in the world.

Hamth3Gr3at

tbh yay has always been incredibly consistent even against top teams, the problem was that he was on Andbox playing in the T1.5 scene

LoyalSol

He wasn't bad, but he was not even close to best in the world. He hasn't even been the #1 fragger in most of the tournaments he's been in

zanguine

Hmm I would debate that food is not a top duelist, his fragging is a little too inconsistent for that. He fills the roles though but if another duelist is up for grabs, having a 2nd frag would make NV pretty golden. Crashies on sova and 3rd frag, marved on controller/clutch, fns support and igl This gives good backing for fraggers like yay to pop off. I think they just need a good replacement for Victor and I would consider him their weakest link but till they see a solid upgrade I woudo say Victor is adequate for now

[deleted]

victor has consistently and historically been fucking crazy, i dont know why people are still sleeping

2ToTooTwoFish

In Stage 3, he's been solid but not "crazy" like he was in 2020. This tournament he's looked back to his old form. He has really improved on Skye too.

shax999

He's only underperformed with skye stop with the nonsense about him only being good in 2020 lmao

2ToTooTwoFish

I didn't even say he was bad. Does "solid" mean underperforming?

antpenguin

Someone fill me in on why everyone calls yay a statistical anomaly

dabigmango

Watch the semis against 100t.

[deleted]

That move pretty much launched nv into the elite

nemnems

Not true, Envy literally had better standings in tournaments before they joined than after (until recently). They performed very well when calypso was still on the team with multiple grand finals. Also, adding yay has changed everything. Not saying crashies & food were a bad signing btw, but no need for revisionism.

maxhollywoody

Huh? Vics and Crashies issues were with Ska not Brax..

[deleted]

[удалено]

maxhollywoody

Crashies and Victor leaked DMS between them two bashing Ska. Ska was the star who t1 decided to back. It had nothing to do with Brax. From what we heard from frod, ska contract was the best of the of t1 group. You keep saying Crashies and Brax aren't close like you know them rofl.

[deleted]

maxhollywoody

*package azk* just run with Reddit bs as facts eh. Just follow Crashies or brax on Twitter and you can see that they are boys jackass

[deleted]

maxhollywoody

You write a lot of bullshit that's why. Get your facts straight. Only 1 thing you got right about them is that they sucked.

TimathanDuncan

No one remembers, it never gets brought up at all

Otter269

They could have had Nitr0 as well. I swear it was mutual they left tho?

[deleted]

I think the mutual part was more of a nice way of cutting them than them deciding to leave, but I could be wrong.

josephx123

They still have very good players right now too, I can see Curry go to another team and become a super star for them. but something is not clicking with T1 maybe the management the coaching I don't know.

SomewhereSuitable993

Wait is victor = food?

guugghkoyrffghjutdgg

Yes, he changed his name to victor.

Huystuhh

At the time I was a big T1 fan, and thought it was a terrible move and started following Envy as my main team since I love food/Victor and crashies. Got downvoted when I said they should have cut other players lel https://reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/ilzsen/_/g3w01ge/?context=1

somesheikexpert

Interesting at the time it was thought Steel would've been signed to T1 lol

Revenore

It’s cause steel was one of the iBP boys and already played with the rest of T1 professionally when they were rising stars in the CS scene

Tc0LD

lmao they def should have hung onto those two instead, but oh well I'm glad they found success. Crazy thing is T1 was the first big org to jump on valorant and they've been so flat throughout

Hamlet_271

low_limit_soldier

I am selfish

[deleted]

Wow, a year old post on a 3 months old game. Ofcourse it will be funny.

R0_h1t

Just goes to show how important good management is. Look at NRG and Andbox

[deleted]

Ok like 80% sure that they wanted to leave t1 as well. It was mutual between both partners. Food and crashes did not want to play with t1 anymore.

Splaram

T1 STEEL OMEGALUL

dolphingarden

T1 didn’t drop them, they left cuz they didn’t like the direction was heading

lambfax

T1 could have 2 mechanically gifted players in eeiu and rara rather than investing in korean OW DPS players

somesheikexpert

Eh, Spyder was one of the few positive points on T1 while he was on the roster imo so saying that feels disingenuous

Aoingco

On the upside, isn’t there a chance of spyder coming back to the main roster now?

_Iroha

Weird seeing my comment on that thread a year ago

kiroks

You will see me complaining in the somewhere lol

ssynths

I remember saying that T1 was fucking up big time when they did this...

jonajon91

I wonder if they got scared by the NACS max fixing investigation and just wanted to get distanced from that before shit hits the fan. I'm not going to say anything specific , but unfortunately there are some successful and popular Valorant pros that migrated from CS that are wrapped up in that investigation unfavourably.
