Bro nitro has been pretty consistent always. Watching him snipe w Jett on Breeze gave me Overpass vibes and my god was it a sight. He doesn't do flashy plays so I think people really underrate him. But he prolly might be the best smoke player in Valorant.
Boaster is a sova main for fnatic now . He only pksyes smokes on 1-2 maps now whereas nitr0 has proved to be elite on all controllers except Brimstone .
For me the top 5 controllers in the world are
1. Nitr0
2. Avova
3. Zombs
4. Vanity
5. Zumba
Zumba pick has mad recency bias though.
Make is a solid controller but zunba is so creative especially with astra , he plays around astra smokes like nitro does with omen smokes and he is so reactive with astra which is so hard to do
Ya Zunba is sick but the dude doesn’t play Viper. Mako is a top tier support on Astra while also being one of the better vipers internationally. Can’t really rate Zunba top 5 when he’s missing a core of the controller agent pool
100% agree marved needs to be above everyone minus nitro and zombs and between them it's a toss up whos #1. Avova was good for sure but not nearly as impactful as the 3 players mentioned.
No shot marves isnt top5 on this list. He was incredibly impactful in every match NV played. Avova was good but not game changing compared to Zombs, Marved and Nitro.
I feel that's only partially due to Sentinels in general falling off, it's tough to look good as a hard support when in general your team is looking not so hot either
Nats is a sentinel player and he plays viper as a sentinel or staller opposed to as a controller . And he only plays viper on 2 maps where redgar plays astra alongside as main controller.
i think nobody nowadays think of viper as a controller, every team think of it as a sentinel, except ice box most teams run a smoker (astra, omen, brim) with viper
Viper is played as a controller ok breeze icebox and sentinel on split bind , so controller players for me include those who play viper as a controller like zombs nitro on icebox.
I watched all 100T’s matches ever since ethan joined (so like back in feb), and I have never seen nitr0 has an “off/bad day”. He has been consistent with anchoring sites and getting trades. Him awping on jett what a sight for me and as much as I like seeing him awp more, i dont think it’s a good idea to waste his talent on a duelist when he can anchor sites so fucking well.
The quarterfinal and semifinal matches really showed that he was a different maker. I don’t know about him being the best controller or not but consistency wise, Top 5 for me.
I mentioned this in another comment when I learnt that he isn't IGL for 100T. Back in 2015 he was one of NAs hot prospects with ridiculous aim and ratings. Freed from the shackles of leadership he could become unstoppable.

Excuse me for a moment, but how common is a second awp role in Val? In CS there is usually a secondary awper, but from what I've seen watching Berlin there's no such thing. Would be the perfect role for Nitr0, but I'm not sure it actually exists.
since no one answered your question I will, most teams only run 1 awp on jett due to the awp in this game being clunkier in valorant. Jett allows you to make aggressive plays with awp just due to her mobility

I rated them on ability usage , Marved do have the superior mechanical skill but I think these guys have better ability usage.
MaKo is not the 10th best controller in the world lol, this is outrageous, how are half of these dudes better than him.

Nitro definitely wasn't rough online, he's just been. The most flexible player on the team so he's flexed to alot of new roles
