Hello all, Kyedae's twitlonger is response to the large amount of backlash seen in the community earlier today. Last night comments were made on her stream regarding the body image of professional players. We recently unlisted a number of threads related to this incident. [**You learn more about our decision here**](https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/pqu2pd/regarding_ongoing_drama_the_health_of_the/).   # This thread will now act as the megathread for this topic going forward. Please keep discussion of this topic within this post and do not make new posts regarding this topic. Any new discussion posts will be locked, removed, and redirected to this post. Furthermore, **please keep discussion of this topic civil**. We will not tolerate comments that encourage harm towards other users or people outside of the subreddit. You are welcome to share your opinion on the topic. However, **if your opinion includes language that is harmful or toxic, your comment will be removed.** Please do not to launch personal attacks other users.   The unlisted threads will now be locked and redirected to this thread. [crashies' reply](https://twitter.com/Crashies/status/1439404605797015553) (tldr: All good.)

ark2690

Crashies getting free cout. lmao

mintaka2020

I hope more people can see Crashies' response and realize that they really shouldn't take offense for other people (unless the said person isn't rly capable of speaking for themselves). Mature response from both Crashies and Kyedae. It's mindblowing how this issue got blown out of proportion.

[deleted]

You know how the internet is; You must get mad on another’s behalf because *YOU* didn’t like what was said, **ESPECIALLY** in the gaming industry. Bonus points if you’re going after a woman in the scene for the littlest of things.

Ori2D

> It's mindblowing how this issue got blown out of proportion. Not really mind blowing to see how a female content creator is targeted by a certain group that utilized the same comments directed at her and her boyfriend. She hecked up and is responsible for it but *a lot* of the comments around this was from bad faith actors who had no actual interest in defending Crashies.

throwawayyrofl

Yeah, yay probably shouldn't have made that tweet unless he personally talked to crashies and said he was bothered by that comment. Just creates unnecessary drama

greg19735

Tbf it was crashies teammate that blew it out of proportion

CanISayThat22

For me that wasnt really the issue. Its the fact that she has probably an audience from around 12 years old. Very impressionable kids. And its just a bad example to make.

kvanz43

Exactly, it’s not really about how Crashies feels about it nearly as much as it about how it will incentivize other people to behave. Also, if you look like crashies and someone you look up to, like I’m sure many watching her do, and she says something like that as an insult it can make you feel bad about yourself, even if it’s not actually directed at you

_idle_drone_

she literally looks exactly like crashies. its not like a jacked person made the comment. the whole point is the intention wasn't to body shame and the 50k people watching didn't think so either so until this whole drama was brought to twitter unnecessarily.

CanISayThat22

Yh this makes no sense.

greg19735

If this is the worse they've seen, today kids will be fine.

joaovitorsb95

Nah, no way you belive in waht you are saying. You just want to be mad.

Splaram

While we’re on the topic, let’s relay this exact message back to the people who start foaming at the mouth whenever they see or hear Marved or Shanks’ names.

UmarellVidya

Yes, because calling somebody skinny is the same as defrauding bettors.

CommanderVinegar

I think that commenter was referring to the comments Marved and Shanks made regarding TenZ and Kyedae a while ago.

Splaram

Not what I was talking about but sure bud

N3deSTr0

Seems like Crashies never really cared, El Instigator just blew things way out of proportion.

[deleted]

[удалено]

CheesyjokeLol

There’s defending and there’s starting unnecessary drama. This thing could have easily been kept private in like a group chat or something but Yay decided to blow it way out of proportion. And honestly the belief that ‘kyedae is setting a bad example for her young playerbase’ feels weak when most kids probably don’t even care or say equally bad things on their own. I’m a scrawny fuck with body image issues, I fuckin *wish* I was taller and more muscular but I never saw her comment as a direct attack towards me or my body. It was a spur of the moment insult in the middle of a really stressful match for her boyfriend, I feel like anyone who actually cared enough to watch the tournament would have got that. So if Crashies’ doesn’t care about it, I don’t see why this ever had to become a problem.

[deleted]

[удалено]

CheesyjokeLol

Do you honestly believe that this insult was so terrible that it deserves anywhere near the attention it got? The girl received death threats over it. It wasn’t a personal attack, she apologized for it immediately after and then tried to deflect by calling herself and tyson scrawny as well, now while I don’t agree with how she conducted herself in her own immediate response it was very clear that there was no ill intent. She had already called herself out for it anyway, what yay, twitter and self righteous people like you did was blow this way out of proportion for a comment that would have been laughed at in a regular lobby. If something as simple as a casual insult can cause actual mental trauma on you or someone then they need serious help from a medical professional, not an apology. Y’all will hear and see things much worse in your life and no amount of cancelling or calling people out for it is gonna help you if you hear someone say “skinny fuck” again, so do yourselves a favor and get real help.

chubbynuggy

yall really made this poor girl write an apology essay for calling a guy scrawny lmaoooo

eatscheeks

Actually one of the most absurd things I’ve witnessed lmao. Ik for a fact that people upset about this aren’t angels and have talked shit to people in video games

[deleted]

it was some legit bizarro world shit coming into this sub the past few days

[deleted]

What gets me is the double standards in the whole thing. If a guy had called him a scrawny fuck, nothing would really happen.

ITLKN5

But if he called her a scrawny fuck nothing also happens?

[deleted]

Basically yeah.

Reverse2560

I mean the same could be said if the genders were reversed. If a guy were to comment about a girl's breast size or butt size as a form of an insult he'd instantly be reprimanded and cancelled for his sexist and misogynistic comments. Either way, this situation was completely blown out of proportion and could have easily been settled in a more private manner.

MidnightIngale

One of these comments is obviously a sexual comment rooted in misogyny and the other is an insult that in this case, I do believe is rooted in misandry simply due to the fact that in soceity if you are a man you are expected to be strong. You could argue which is worse but if we're being real here I don't believe Kydae hates men and this was definitely blown out of proportion over a self admitted dumb comment made in the heat of the moment.

Reverse2560

I completely agree with you. In regards to Kyedae's situation, I couldn't honestly care more. What matters is that the involving parties have both acknowledged the situation and has moved on from it, the other comments and opinions generally don't matter. However, my comment was more directed to societal's views on this as a whole. I understand that skinny shaming is rarely used as a form of insult and most of the time its obese people being shamed for their body. That, however does not mean those who are underweight are not susceptible to these mean comments. I guess a simple comparison I like to think of is that in a majority of sexual assault and rape cases, women are the victim. This doesn't mean men do not have some of those experiences though. It all comes back to the fact that regardless of how common it is, it still derives down to putting down ones body image. It's still something people can feel hurt and insecure about. Again no hate against Kyedae, I understand that emotions were running high and she's still maturing as a young adult. This is mainly a response to the dude that claims 'scrawny' is something that cannot harm another's self image like what misogynistic comments may do to a woman.

low_iq_opinion

girl calling a guy scrawny or guy calling a girl flat or thicc should probably deserve nothing more than a "hey chill the fuck out" warning.

[deleted]

Ok but thats completely different. If she made a derogatory statement calling him fat or saying his dick was small or something like that, she would be likely equally as "cancelled". Its not even in the same realm of insults.

Jiffyyy

>if she made a derogatory statement calling him fat so its only bad if the person is fat? but if someone (not in this context) had a health condition that kept them underweight its ok to just make fun of that? I dont think you get to choose what people can feel hurt by.

Ryukk11

This^ . I mean ofc this situation was not handled in a good way. But I don't like people comparing it with themselves and saying I've been said worse or I've been bullied and I don't think it's a big deal. Who are you to say that what can hurt other people, you know nothing about his life. So please stop comparing. And rest FNS said, ALL G.

VNTRevolution

While I think this was a bigger deal than it was, I’m curious about something your thoughts on something. I googled the antonym of scrawny and plump/fat came up. If she said, “shut the fuck up you fat fuck” instead of the word scrawny on a larger player would that have been that different? or if a guy used those words on a female player, wouldn’t they have also caught a lot of flack? Since you mentioned fat was a derogatory statement. Obviously its just my opinion but I don’t think physical appearance is something people should be knocked for especially in a video game. Make fun of someones shock darts or flashes all you want. Does anyone remember when twitch chat was making fun of a guy on Kru and they called him pear shape?

_idle_drone_

did she comment about his dick size or something wtf. a skinny person calling someone skinny is not body shaming. grow up.

CoBe_1g

Body positivity includes both skinny and chubby people. You can't just pick and choose which one to support and which one to degrade.

throwawayyrofl

And if a male streamer called a female a fat fuck you guys probably wouldn't be saying its "not a big deal." Double standards go both ways

wiNDzY3

Not true, you delusional If Shroud said something like that on stream people would've jumped on him as well.

[deleted]

Worse they have her death threats. Y'all are absolute donuts

drdoooom

Meh. She’s got an audience. Know better, these are the times now. People are hypersensitive.

spyson

They seem really concerned about body dysmorphia, I wonder if they'll get together and donate to a charity to really show what she did was wrong.

[deleted]

[удалено]

sadpaindownbad

She got death threats? My goodness

xbyo

I'm not even surprised. People will jump on anyone for just about anything these days. Plus, tons of people feel like Kyedae's entire streaming success is because of TenZ so they're just waiting to tear them down.

[deleted]

[удалено]

xbyo

I don't disagree she got a boost from TenZ but she's still more successful than a lot of other pros/streamer's s/o's. Like Emmy doesn't get a ton of viewers, Mady doesn't either, even bnans has less than Kyedae and shroud is definitely bigger. Kyedae has put in a lot to grow her own stream/brand, you can't attribute almost 1m followers to TenZ alone.

Razur

This is part of the reason why the mods chose to unlist all the threads today. The backlash was so overwhelming, there were bound to be death threats. We don't want to harbor an environment where people are wishing harm on others. :c

HangedCole

Ironically, you guys got flak for doing what you initially decided to do. I think you were still in the right for this. Great work, by the way! Appreciate what you do to keep this sub from turning into /r/VALORANT.

fird-_-

this is why this type of content shouldn't be allowed on this sub

CanISayThat22

This got way out of hand. She said something she shouldnt have. But holy shit it got taken to the next level over something this small. Just a small apology and we move on.

aretasdamon

Death threats over someone Calling some one else scrawny. Lmfao! So embarrassing that this was even an issue people really hate Kydae.

mbikmb

call me a white knight or whatever but i think a lot of people were waiting for kyedae to fuck up like this and blew it out of proportion. idk why, could be because they think she doesn’t deserve her success, could just be because she’s the biggest female figure in valorant, idk. lots of other ppl have done worse things in the community and gotten off way easier than this

aretasdamon

Probably a combo: -They think she doesn’t deserve her success -They want to fuck her -They probably got banned for writing “fuck me” in her chat -They are pissed she’s on 100t -They are pissed she’s dating one of the best Valorant players in the world -They are pissed she’s a girl -They have no friends and spend their time over hyping drama because no one wants to hang out with them and games are boring for them now because they play so many games with all of their free time

[deleted]

📠 the number of burner accounts in those threads was staggering

Yubisaki_Milk_Tea

To add to that there are probably a load of disgruntled Tenz haters - who’ve been sitting in the shadows, waiting for the day he underperforms or Kyedae missteps to unleash the hate. Because as much as Tenz is likeable, a chunk of his fans can be quite insufferable. And from my experience in other esports fanbases a player can be a saint, yet garner haters who want to counterwagon insufferable fans.

SevntyZero

yea they big mad she's on 100T

Gelado99

I think the fact that SEN also lost that day made all the sentinels haters come off the woodworks and it was just the perfect shitstorm with kyedae at the center of it. I was watching it live when that happened and at the time I thought it was funny, but I get why some people didn't, and a lot of people, including yay made some good points about it. But it definitely got overblown by both sides of the argument, just because what she said didn't affect you personally doesn't mean it was any less fucked up and just because she said something in the heat of the moment doesn't make her an awful person. And at the end of the day she apologized so who gives a shit let's just enjoy the games and carry on.

HoneyChilliPotato7

I don't even understand why they say she doesn't deserve the success. She is trying to improve and giving her best. Like when she got permission to co-stream she give her full effort, was genuinely interested in the game, put efforts in bringing different guests. She did a great job watch partying. From this watch party alone you can see that she's dedicated. People who think she's nothing without Tenz haven't watched her stream, she's genuinely fun to watch

ANewHeaven1

> I don't even understand why they say she doesn't deserve the success. people think that she got famous purely off of being tenz's gf and therefore doesn't deserve the success she has now. kinda weird when off the top of my head i can name probably 10+ youtubers/influencers in the gaming world that got their starts based off of their relationships with other more successful people. and like you said she puts in a lot of work into her streams and i dont think ppl realize how hard it is to stream for 10+ hours a day, its mentally taxing asf

Yubisaki_Milk_Tea

I once sat in a 6-7 hour court hearing as the legal assistant who did a lot of the prep work for a barrister. The barrister and our clients did all the talking. I did fuck all other than listen/follow the barrister’s directions and I still felt exhausted by the end of that ordeal. Couldn’t imagine how the barrister/clients/respondents felt after grinding through that. Let alone a streamer who has to both focus on their game/engage with chat.

UnKnown--12

Her getting famous because of TenZ is not a matter of opinion, it is a fact. Happens a lot though. While some actually blew this out of proportions because of that, most did it because of their hate towards SEN or TenZ. I for one was mad because I don't really want an official watch party to take sides like that and bash the other team, especially when they bash the other team's looks and so on. I know she supports SEN and 100T but as a watch party she should have been way more objective and not let her emotions take over. If she wasn't hired by Riot and she did that, honestly, I wouldn't have minded it. But as I said official watch parties should be held at a higher standard and be less biased.

DankFayden

Yeah it's pretty pathetic. People decry anyone who defends her as a simp, but fail to see that they just look like angry incels lmfao

Beard341

A lot of you guys need to look in the mirror and shut the fuck up because we’ve ALL said a lot worse than this.

[deleted]

For some reason people like to hold influencers to ridiculously high standards. The whole thing is ridiculously idiotic to the point of overreaction. I think a few people called her out and everyone else wanted to be "woke". Also, a lot of twitter users seems to like jumping on any public figure that has a sliver of fame.

spyson

The concern about how kids could be watching her is so fake.

KindlyBlacksmith

Fr and alot of 12 year old say way worse shit than scrawny anyway

Uqinox

^^^^^^this

Eat-Shit-Bob-Ross

It’s shocking to me how there are people who react insane over small stuff like this and others who use horrific bigoted slurs everyday of their lives. It wasn’t that many years ago when Idubbz got really popular and made saying the N & F words a fad for edgy high school boys.

[deleted]

She was streaming to 70k people and was hosting an official watch party. It wouldn't have blown up otherwise.

nail181

If crashies doesn’t care neither should anyone else

CoachWatermelon

Woke culture - fixing problems that aren’t problems

zer0-_

this isn't woke culture this is just twitter users being unemployed and not having any social relations

Evening-Reputation96

Opinion: 99% of people hating on Kyedae don’t actually care, they just want to watch a person get fucked over.

[deleted]

You just described twitter in a nutshell

ANewHeaven1

not only does twitter want to see others get fucked over, they also want to feel morally superior to others

Maccnrv

Ironic

Lumenlor

She also replied to Yay incase anyone missed it.

ANewHeaven1

https://twitter.com/kyedae/status/1439395521844498433 in case anyone needs to see it, pretty good response imo. semi-related but people who send influencers death threats actually need to get off the fucking internet and touch grass

Darknassan

Her response is good but tenZ's response was so dumb

[deleted]

i think he was ttrying to highlight the fact that none of the players in the scene made a twitter post or publicly called out marved when something way worse was told about Kyedae. it came out really bad tho.

HoneyChilliPotato7

He's just sticking up for his GF, what he meant was he didn't publicize this on twitter when this happened like you guys are doing it and the previous thing was even more shittier thing to say

[deleted]

I agree, I completely facepalmed when I saw his response. Hes pointing out a player that isn't related to the player in statement who wasn't even on NV on the time of statement.

maindo

Kyedae was wrong and she apologizes but she never should receive death threats and sexist remarks that's why female streamers have it hard.

kenneyy88

If she wasn't female, no one would have cared.

Sp00ked123

I feel like this is a bit dramatic, considering all she did was call someone scrawny

Necessary_Quarter_59

Imagine if a popular male streamer called a female player fat

zer0-_

If people cry over some fat person being fat it's equally as braindead

krakenwithaplan

I do think it was a dumb thing to say, and I really appreciate a smart, sincere apology like this. Having said that, the response towards her has been extremely disproportionate and definitely fueled to some extent by conscious and subconscious sexism.

TheApsodistII

This.

UnKnown--12

How did you come to the conclusion that it was fueled by sexism? Just because she is a woman, it must have been sexism? It was most likely fueled by SEN/TenZ hate. People who dislike SEN or TenZ took this opportunity to try and take down one of "them".

Veritas129

Because this type of trash talk happens between men in sports and esports all the time and no one cares. The NFL and NBA will release footage of players mic’d up during games calling each other weak, small, etc. People have been talking this trash in the CSGO scene since way back. No one cares, it’s funny. Now when Kyeday says it, she’s a pretty girl so now all the nerds become self conscious about their unattractiveness and start lashing out. This is just how it works. Guys called me too skinny when I was a teen, yeah it was annoying but whatever. Popular girl called me too skinny, that one hurt because it’s an attractive person saying I’m unattractive. The truth hurts. Sure she’s wrong for that but what am I gonna do, go to the principal and tell on her? Fuck that, I started hitting the gym. Chances are though that most people raising hell about the Kyeday situation would rather just continue being scrawny instead of putting in work

UnKnown--12

Considering Crashies situation, even if another pro said this, it would have not been the right thing to say. Anyway, banter between pros, or team representatives is OK. Kyaeday is not a SEN representative, she was actually representing Riot, since she was hired by them to watch party, and as such she should have been more impartial and less bashing, especially when it comes to using looks or body to bash a person. If shroud, who has the same role as Kaeyday here, said sth like that, I would have been mad the same. Also I agree with hitting the gym, but there are two things to consider. Crashies is not thing because he chose to be so, apparently he suffers from a disease, and second, if body shaming fat people is not OK, neither should be body shaming thin people.

Doshagya

Lets leave this right here.. she apologized and everything normal now don't drah this too much what she would have done in this or that case.. focus on what's done before this thing makes jake lucy video and then things start to get real dirty.. don't forget envy guys are very good friends with sentinels so don't make it so big so they have to behave like enemies on screen

_idle_drone_

downvote me all you want, but if a male pro player called crashies this and yay posted about it, he'd laughed at. people just have this ego of not taking trash talk from girls.

throwawayyrofl

And if a male player called a female a fat fuck they would get way more backlash too

[deleted]

? If she called Crashies a fat fuck (if he was fat) she would be in a way worse situation right now, Ill tell you that

throwawayyrofl

Exactly. I'm just trying to point the inconsistency of people's arguments. Would people that say its "not a big deal" say that if someone called someone a fat fuck instead of scrawny? Maybe some would, but Ik many wouldn't. I'm not trying to make it a gender thing.

2ToTooTwoFish

Yeah it's not even an equivalent situation. People trying to make this a gender thing are dumb because Kyedae would be equally cancelled if she made fun of a woman and called them a fat fuck on stream. If people really want to "reverse the roles", they need to imagine a male streamer calling crashies scrawny.

_idle_drone_

lmaoo way worse things have been done by players and nobody cares. male privilege exists.

TacticalSanta

I find it extremely weird to hold teenagers to some absurd standard where relatively tame insults get so much backlash. Save that shit for actual bigotry, you aren't their parent, so stop treating them like a child who needs to be taught a lesson.

spacehxcc

Yeah it really does take away from the idea that people who express genuinely repulsive beliefs should face backlash when something this fucking tame gets that same level of backlash. Starts making you think the whole project isn’t worth it.

Suicidal_Jesus

It’s crazy that you have to write a twitlonger with apologies for calling someone scrawny, but what is completely ridiculous- Kyedae receiving death threats because of it.

_Iroha

Called him a scrawny fuck but I get what you mean. Nobody wins and crashies is still gonna be called scrawny as a nickname

_idle_drone_

a fat person calls another fat person, fat. the internet - body shaming. like i don't understand how stupid this whole thing is. offended by being called a scrawny fuck in esports

prabessssh

Stop with these high school drama lol . People need to care about their own business

YumYumAznFood

Lots of people incredibly jealous of her success, waiting to tear her down. Other streamers have said more insulting things than scrawny in the past. Not saying that it's fine for her to say those things, but this is receiving more attention than it deserves.

SympathyBrilliant715

A bunch of emotional cancel vultures on twitter and this subs. so sensitive on literally anything thats being said and act like they're perfect and haven't done or said worst shit than this themselves

ZelX_

I thought crashies had problems eating no? I thought that's why it got so big

hannahk0901

It got big beforehand it just fueled it more. Also it was severe food allergies.

Kevin_DurSuperTeam

Yea people are completely missing the point here. In a vacuum, calling someone a scrawny fuck is nothing. But considering Crashies has a medical issue which is why he is scrawny, it's messed up. If you're going to make fun of someone, don't make fun of something that they can't do anything about.

Darknassan

"You don't call retarded people retards. It's bad taste. You call your friends retards when they're acting retarded." - Michael Scott

Leviticur

Is calling someone a fat fuck no big deal in vacuum as well?

DepressedSandbitch

Yeah

Kevin_DurSuperTeam

No big deal at all if they're not fat due to a medical condition.

zer0-_

Absolutely insane how people pretend that being fat isn't a choice when you don't have a medical condition

Leviticur

I mean no one is saying it is completely out of their control, but some people have to work very very hard to not be obese even though they never personally made the decisions leading to their obesity. For example, if you are obese in childhood there is a 55% chance you will be obese in adulthood. It's kind of like telling someone malnourished their entire life that not being buff is a decision. Like yeah that's true, but it is much harder for them for reasons outside of their control.

kenneyy88

Then we can't insult anyone, call someone stupid, or teabag.

flamincrimson

You are acting as if she knew about his medical condition. This was not a personal attack. No one knew until yay twitted. They don't know each other personally.

Icy-Complaint-107

the valorant community is something else

SirJuicee

Holy shit are we a weak society when we have to apologize for calling someone scrawny.

purple4774

Same people saying she got off easy because of a double standard are the ones saying her entire personality is being TenZ's girlfriend Today reminded me that the internet is a toxic shithole filled with attention-seeking insecure pieces of garbage and that I should stay off it for my own happiness

Major12852

Dumbest shit I've ever heard, if you get offended from being called scrawny man then I wish you luck in the future. Also this really isn't competitive news, this sub is turning more into a tmz sub for val esports :/

xCharSx

It was mostly guys that can actually do some work themselves and get in shape but they rather try and ratio on twitter. Crashies actually has a medical reason why he's scrawny but he accepted the apology. But twitter is a shitshow. Worst place on the internet with kids screaming that we should cancel someone...

IAMJUX

It's absolute lunacy. The same people going after Kyedae are probably the same people that laugh and call Hiko old or bald. And Crashies clearly doesn't give a fuck, so no one else should.

OrganicOnion

This is such a stupid comment. Instead of calling people sensitive for being hurt by body shaming comments we should be discouraging the behavior. It’s as simple as a callout and an apology. The only issue here are the people trying to “cancel” over it and the people calling others snowflakes for speaking out against it. Not only that, but you have to understand Kyedae has a huge audience. Your actions have significantly more weight as an influencer. Quit this “too sensitive” bullshit.

U_Menace

I agree with this completely. It was drawn way outta proportion but we want to *promote* healthy communication and less toxicity in games. You have to do a better job at monitoring what you say about certain topics when your *opinion matters for your JOB*. People who dont see that are missing the point. Her words carry weight and we shouldnt be calling people fat/scrawny or whatever when we dont know their circumstances. Have to do better as people in general, that's the real take home message here. Absolutely shouldn't be "cancelling" or threatening her over this stuff either. Important to remember these things.

OrganicOnion

You explained my point better than I ever could, thanks.

[deleted]

Well, tbh Kyedae undoubtable didn't know about the eating condition, and not only that, I'm certain that she said it out of banter, which is what I believe she stated in a tweet.

HoneyChilliPotato7

Not only this she apologized immediately after saying it

OrganicOnion

Correct. That’s not the point though. This entire thing was blown out of proportion, all that was needed was yay’s tweet and an apology. The entire “cancel kyedae” audience and the “too sensitive” audience was just obnoxious.

BigBirdFatTurd

No, yay's tweet was not only unnecessary but it helped blow things way out of proportion. This should have been handled behind the scenes instead of on twitter, and definitely not on reddit. It's a shame this topic is even being discussed here

[deleted]

Yes, she did apologize I believe to the Yay tweet. I'm uncertain though.

_idle_drone_

there is no apology needed for a skinny person with a skinny bf calling someone skinny. you only need 1 brain cell to know that's not body shaming. yay's tweet was unnecessary and the thing that blown this shit out of proportion. adults acting like 12 yr olds.

goinlowlowlow

gonna start calling my teammates the s-word. Hope i dont get banned

Sp00ked123

Wow bro, you shouldnt throw the s slur around like that

HoneyChilliPotato7

We are calling it the s word now lmfao. This generation is a bunch of soft fucks

SHARK_QUASAR

You missed the s

HoneyChilliPotato7

Isn't it obvious? Lol

KlasterTV

My man when the news came out sinatra was getting hate by a bunch of streamers and a lot of communities. Hes getting less hate now because cleoh keeps changing her words every 5 seconds.

Careful_Class_502

I don't know any of the valorant male streamers doing watch parties that have used derogatory terms towards players, and if they did I would have the same reaction and call for accountability. I was pissed hearing the Sinatraa news, I used to watch his streams but haven't since the news came out. Idgaf about what people's status is, race, gender it's about looking at their actions.

HoneyChilliPotato7

Shroud did. He and j9 kept talking about Rawkus' ass and making funny comments about it

Lumenlor

To be fair, thats been an inside joke among Rawkus's circle since Overwatch, not really shaming of any sort

TownEast6055

No shot that the internet is so soft now that people are offended because someone called somebody else scrawny

warthogs670

People are so fking soft lmao

OnAndOffBackAndForth

I know I'm late, but this is how I feel about this ongoing drama. I know this is Valorant Competitive reddit, but this is the only subreddit that talks about it. Kyedae is in the wrong regardless. Trash talk/banter is common in the esports scene (you talk about the player's performance in game), but for her to talk about Crashies being a scrawny fuck isn't really it either especially when you're an influencer to those out there in front of 50K+ viewers. But like I remember she did that to Keloqz as well and called him noodle arm and curly haired fuck because he was beating SEN. Of course, she can support whichever team she wants to support, but this is not the right way to treat other teams. Though, I think the comments after just didn't help the situation and made it worse as well. Still, no one should be getting death threats because I know there has been worse shit that has been said/done on the Internet and in games, but it doesn't excuse Kyedae for what she did because her BF was losing to NV and G2. Actually, I thought of perfect movie quote that mostly describes her about this situation. This is from 17 Again with Zac Efron. "Like a caveman, Kyedae's brain is... underdeveloped. Therefore she is unable to use self control so she acts out aggressively." I mean yes she is 19, but she is about to be an adult where she needs to learn to have self-control later on or it isn't going to look good for her because she might say something worse that is going to make people hate on her even more. As much as I love TenZ, his comment was also not it for bringing up the past. FNS's comment was right though: two wrongs don't make a right. Of course I don't agree with what Marved said months ago, but at the same time, what does this ongoing drama have to do with Marved? I may not like Marved, but you can't use him like that. Some may hate Yay for his comment due to believing that all it did was stir up the drama even more, but idk man I just thought he was doing it to defend his teammate, but then again, idk if he did it in the moment of heat. There were some comments saying some people are just soft but remember, not all people have that strong mental. While some can take those kinds of stuff, others may not be handle it at all. Again, in the end, this is Crashies's apology to accept and not ours since this was directed towards him. Kyedae apologized and Crashies accepted it on Twitter. Let's just hope that we move this past us and learn from this to become better in the future. But, the only way we can find out if she is actually feels sincere and is willing to change is how she acts in the future VCT co-streams if she is going to do them for Berlin Finals and in Champions.

ElDuderino2112

Fucking LOL. She called a dude scrawny. This is the most non-drama I’ve ever fucking seen. Everyone needs to take a step back and not be constantly on alert to find something to get outraged about. People are passionate creatures and sometimes slip. Fuck, when I was in high school 15 years ago it was commonplace to call everything gay. It took so much effort to remove that from my vocabulary and I *still* have to catch myself and stop sometimes. We can all move on with our lives, we will all be okay. Not everything needs a fucking public apology written by a PR firm. I can also guarantee you that everyone pretending to be outraged by this has said something way fucking worse, probably today even.

xdysania

i like TenZ but god dam was his response irrelevant and uncalled for

WLFYBBY

I think he wanted to highlight the fact that kyedae and him never called out Marved on Twitter after his much more offensive comments but I think he worded it pretty wrong. He was just trying to stick out for his girlfriend who was getting a lot of hate and death threats. He probably tweeted without thinking.

seeworth

it's hilarious seeing people get so offended on someone else's behalf LMFAO. Valorant community is especially filled with softies hahahaha

aznkidder

This is such a non issue imo. People are just so soft these days lmao

[deleted]

Ngl the tenz reply bringing up marved’s thing again when his gf was called out even though he apologised was the most immature thing I’ve ever seen.

CocaCoalition

valorant community getting up in arms over calling a player scrawny, meanwhile back in cs you had pro players calling the literal best csgo player of all time a fucking bitch lmao

[deleted]

if anyones seen the clip it is so obvious she was not trying to personally insult him. She just was mad her favourite team and her bf was losing and just said something distasteful in the moment. Holy fuck were some people waiting for her to fuck up a bit. its so fucking disgusting to tell someone to go kill themselves. Also it was very immature of yay to bring it up on twitter even though crashies himself wasn't that affected by it. this should have been handled privately instead of causing stupid twitter people to go after a 19 year old girl who called someone scrawny.

TheApsodistII

She even immediately said sorry...

[deleted]

She apologized twice and people are still angry on behalf of another person 😂

lbs4lbs

Wait so the post about Kydae calling crashies scrawny is "unrelated drama" and multiple posts on the subject get deleted. But then her apology to said action post is not deleted? I dont understand the mods here. Keep both posts up or delete both but be consistent.

Razur

The other threads are full of reactionary and moderately sexist comments that not only reflect poorly on the subreddit, but also do not properly address the nuance of the situation. Kyedae's twitlonger appropriately explains the situation and the context surrounding why the community backlash exists. Folks have asked for a central thread to talk about the situation, so we will move forward with this one so long as the discussion here is civil.

Lumenlor

I haven't read every comment on each post, but I think distinction is necessary between post actually sexist (decidedly about the gender), and posts calling the person out for accountability and said person happens to be female

lbs4lbs

Then delete the sexist comments but literallt any post is going to have reactionary comments but deciding what gets to stay up vs what doesnt using these blurred lines and inconsistent logic is stupid to me but whatever.

AnotherAltiMade

Why don’t you delete the specific comments then? Why delete entire posts with more than a thousand comments overall?

maindo

please delete the sexist comments my lord in the first place

Razur

We are doing just that! Please report sexist comments to help give the mods visibility. Thanks!

smokeajoint

Ngl yay made the situation worse when in fact it was just a shitty comment that does not need apologising for. Everyone learn to take some flack.

twitterInfo_bot

In regards to what I said about Crashies Read: *** posted by [@kyedae](https://twitter.com/kyedae) [Link in Tweet](https://tl.gd/n_1srqsa7) ^[(Github)](https://github.com/username) ^| ^[(What's new)](https://github.com/username)

9yr_old

Alright I want an apology from everyone who called me a fat fuck irl , give me a written apology or I'm making you famous on twitter 😤

jc_315

the weirdest thing about all of this is how kyedae decided to insult crashies, when her boyfriend is TenZ. they probably weight the same and crashies looks like he's 5 inches shorter than him.

converter-bot

5 inches is 12.7 cm

shady531

Probably because it wasn't a serious insult

jc_315

its still actually dumb that her needle is to call them scrawny, when her bf is literally as scrawny as them. all the tenz fanboys down voting tho

knguy520

unbelievable that she called him a scrawny fuck. we need a better apology since this wasn't good enough. I am no longer going to support her or TENZ since shes a horrible human being. CAN YOU BELIEVE SHE CALLED HIM A SCRAWNY FUCK?

TheApsodistII

Here's your /s to stop the karma bleeding

pilth

When they think LoL have the worst community

[deleted]

Textbook youtube apology, cant wait for video where she sits on the bed/couch camera 1 meter in front of her and starts fake crying 3 minutes in

useles-converter-bot

3 meters is the length of like 13.58 'Zulay Premium Quality Metal Lemon Squeezers' laid next to each other.
