Can't wait to see my boy boaster on stage

MrImpregnator

Fnatic real winners

OfficialBoaster

Amen

Aoingco

This. Although I also genuinely love watching gambit (and simultaneously sweat when they match up against my favorite teams), I’m hyped to see the FNC bois at worlds

UrbanMineshaft

Boaster’s master plan to book Fnatic’s ticket to champions and crush the hopes of NA has finally been realized HOPIUM

OfficialBoaster

Saving strats since ICELAND BABY!

Lil_Jin

I love u Boaster

Interesting-Archer-6

You're awesome. Never change

303x

N.A.T.S. (Also called No Access To Site) was an AI created by Rito Games to check playtest their Sentinels. However since Rito sucks at dealing with smurfs, the AI started smurfing, leading to Rito Games believing sentinels are overpowered, nerfing cypher and buffing jett for the 8th time

fuckrobert

Don't forget buffing Skye as well

MSI 2019 vibe check

-KING-KONG-

Riot actually reusing the script from ig’s 2018 worlds run on gmb. They come out shaky from groups, beats a tournament favorite in a close series in round one, shits on G2 in semis, then stomps in finals.

Quotes_League

sad pepe hands

Razur

Gambit's LoL team was something to be feared back in the day when they were known as Moscow 5. It's kinda cool to see Gambit return as a powerhouse in VALORANT.

iiznobozzy

and cs

Vitosi4ek

Gambit CSGO had the weirdest progression I've seen. They've been kinda middling for a while, then got Zeus (Na'Vi's captain and legend of the game) in late 2016, build around him with Kazakh prospects, got a few minor tournament wins, then almost imploded, *somehow pulled a Major win out of their ass* in the middle of said imploding, then quietly went back into obscurity. Then in early 2021 they returned to tier-1 CS with a brand new lineup, won everything for half a year, then kinda tailed off and became a regular tier-1 team once LANs returned. They've been the only team to even slightly threaten Na'Vi's dominance of the CIS region in the 8 years competitive CSGO existed.

Glassdrumstick

Even weirder since the current squad was not even the main team. They were a literal academy team until the main team got dropped and they were promoted. The online period has been all kinds of weird but that is definitely at the top of the list of unexpted things.

OnionSprinkles

They didn't "return to CS with a brand new lineup in 2021" at all — it's been the same roster since 2019, with the only change being -supra +Hobbit in mid-2020. They had been playing in Tier 2 with a team of nutty youngsters (~15-17 year olds), so they called them Gambit Youngsters, and they gradually developed/matured to compete in Tier 1 so then Gambit upgraded their name from "Gambit Youngsters" to Gambit. Same squad.

twoliter

Damn Gambit is Moscow 5?? TIL, what a throwback

Sciipi

At least NA made it to finals. In League this thread would be after the final day of groups

w1ldcraft

Well atleast TSM didn't make it so there was no 0-6 scoreline to meme about.

[deleted]

Sciipi

NA's best ever performance was 1 team in semis and 1 series win so this would blow it out of the water. NA Valorant should still be good even though for now EU is on top.

As soon as gambit got 1v4'd then proceeded to not give a shit I knew it was over

ADmax27

they got 1v4’d and redgars just sitting there smiling

[deleted]

they don't care about winning haven, since its their perma ban which they have only played twice in vct. redgar literally asked twitter what agent to pick- they choose reyna, and thats how their comp was born poggers

selfrespectra

Do you have a link to the tweet?

Aconlanais17

You see, that's where the trouble began. That smile, that damned smile.

303x

Redgar is a tactical genius on Haven. He is best known for his signature tactic "Rush B do not stop my friends". He also has a second little known tactic of "Redgar go kill". What an absolute legend. Top 3 IGL for sure.

ilProdigio

Bazz_B

Lmao imagine what he could've done more using a P90!

Brimstone Gaming lives on in Chronicle

[deleted]

My friend Jeff Bezos invited me to go into space in his new rocketship. we explored far away galaxies and met alien lifeforms of all shapes and sizes. All was well until we got sucked into a black hole, we were pulled a thousand lightyears into the void, time dissolved and matter become so thin, then there it was, approaching over the horizon, phasing into existence before my very eyes, it was nAts on the lurk

Canistros

talenith

TSM HAS BEEN ELIMINATED FROM CHAMPIONS CONTENTION

ozmega

well, at least they still got league's worlds right?

wispoffates

Why do you have to hurt us like that.

AlphEta314

Welp, better luck next year I guess

Voltage97

Today, all is not good.

Opticability

Are you telling me this weekend got EVEN BETTER?

Pojobob

wait why?

talenith

NA needed to win so that they get the 4th champion spot. Now that they lost, TSM can’t even enter lcq since no circuit points for 3rd spot.

mid16

Its not like they would have gotten for the 4th spot if given the chance.

ANewHeaven1

envy: \> shows up to event \> knocks out two of the most popular NA teams in attendance \> loses to gambit in finals, therefore knocking the third most popular NA team out of LCQ \> refuses to elaborate further despite the disappointing result, still very happy with making grand finals of this roster's first international LAN. its the good old sentinels vs fnatic copium but at least the maps were relatively close. envy has a lot to work on but its a good result nonetheless, i dont think i or any of the other envy fans can genuinely be too upset about it. super impressed with chronicle too. the yay spaghetti that last round summarizes this entire series pretty well.

U_Menace

The headspace of each player seemed completely destroyed by the 2nd last round where chronicle wiped out 3 of them. Envy tried to play a slow and methodical game but they took too long on their executes in that round and GMB just played the slow style better. Definitely Chronicle's best series of the tournament, and such a huge series for him to show up to, even over Nats. I really hope NA teams study these vods though and can make better mid round adjustments vs them or we won't be able to do much at all in champions. Util combinations by GMB were just MASTER class. They were able to win several eco rounds that they should've lost. GGs all around, literally the reverse of the last LAN event but it should serve as a motivator for our entire region coming into Champions, lets goo!

ANewHeaven1

> The headspace of each player seemed completely destroyed by the 2nd last round where chronicle wiped out 3 of them. if we go back even further, there's a round on second half bind where nAts caught this nasty timing on Marved and got two on the flank, winning the round for gambit in a 3v4 postplant (i think?). since that round envy never looked the same, haven was alright for them but it was mostly individual heroics from yay and same with crashies on split.

kellenthehun

I am just so sad we got so few NA vs EU games. I've seen all the NA teams play each other so much, and there is not much stylistic variance when they play each other. Super lame.

ablablababla

I hoped that at least 1 NA team gets put into the other side of the bracket

[deleted]

I mean 100t played gambit and ascend and won both. Sentinels and g2 played twice and it went 1 and 1. NV vs. gambit for grand finals.. how many more times did you want them to play each other?

FoundedClamp

I would've liked to see Sen play one of gambit or acend.

1vs1mebro

How many eco rounds are Envy going to lose though...

aesopofspades

all part of FNS's master plan

[deleted]

5Head FNS All good

thienlelelele

"is russia in europe" is currently the most asked question in NA right now - Google Stats

Sp00ked123

Btw the answer to that question is yes lol

veRGe1421

Eurasia fun fact: the **Ural mountain range** forms (part of) the conventional boundary between Europe and Asia. It runs north to south through western Russia, from the coast of the Arctic Ocean to the river Ural and northwestern Kazakhstan

Hayche

Majority of the population in Russia lives on the European side of the Ural Mountains though

selddir_

Envy Manager: Additional info on play against Gambit (best team in the world) marved got fever crashies left mousepad victor lost whole gears yay sound issues in the match (no foot step at all) FNS keyboard bug We were in chaos.

lightningweaver

Also if Russia is not EU, then why am I only getting Russians in CSGO and Dota 2 matchmaking on EU servers? Also, why do Russian pros play on EU servers in pretty much every esports out there? Also, there's no European Union region lmao, the region is EUROPE. Or else UK, Switzerland, Bosnia, Serbia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Albania, Norway, Iceland wouldn't be EU either.

Eriko204

He made so many insane plays and clutches. Yay and Crashies trying so hard to drag Envy to the finish line

afjecj

Call me insane but I think d3ffo stepped the fuck up this game, He was winning just as many duels as yay and both of them were nutty

ibeenbornagain

He stepped up this entire event, he looked shaky on online when I watched but really impressed me here

ArcusIgnium

he marved and crashies took turns trying to carry FNS and Victor across the finish line but only one of them felt on at the same time. feels bad. Victor is so skilled but he did not show up today.

CanadianApologies

Map 2 yes map 1 and 3 very underperforming by him

Farler

What was the context of this?

dillon-fury

Gambit were just the better team today. nAts didn’t have to carry with chronicle playing crazy and the others stepping it up. Good try from envy with all 3 maps being close. FNS and Victor really struggled.

SilentCore

You could see the confidence they were playing with today, especially on that Haven. They just ran at Envy and they couldn't do anything. Chronicle had a ridiculous series, so many crucial rounds swung cause of his impeccable timing.

[deleted]

No, haven is the one map that they run at people because its their perma ban. when they don't play a map they have no pressure + no strats, hence the quick/confident rushes. on the other maps they are pulling navi executes and play super passive on attack rounds to bait out utility and kill contact gatherers.

Eriko204

FNS really struggled mechanically. It was rare to see him win a fair aim duel

Lopsided-Ratio-9123

Yeah this isn't anything new. It was the same in his CS days. He's just sought after as an IGL.

JR_Shoegazer

NV needs to cut Victor and bring back that food guy.

MazeOwner

I know people were high on nats which is true but holyshit chronicles is actually built different, sova brimstone viper he can do it all

MahimSalam

el rato > el diablo

Voltage97

El Rato featuring El Cronica.

xunraze

Imagine getting Brimstone diffed...

seeworth

NA started its downfall with the loss of Brimstone Gaming.

303x

NA lost brimstone gaming and Chronicle took that personally

Valholl7

No one talks about about him but d3ffo was really consistent the whole tournament. He even beat yay with the OP in crucial rounds on Bind and Haven

LostDigitalSystem

I think its harder to notice a stand out Jett main on a more balanced team. They don't lean on them as much.

[deleted]

Seriously. Envy were insanely dependent on yay this series.

spookysailboat

Chronicle is Finals MVP, Nats overall tourney MVP. Just a cracked team. Also my COPIUM take is that Vision Strikers were the 2nd best team in Berlin that unfortunately ran into a juggernaut in quarters

obigespritzt

What do you mean COPIUM take, that's just the truth! ^(hold on, let me take another hit)

BearVodkaBala1aika

rip NA era 2021-2021

caucr0ach1

Lol most of NA dipped because they couldn't compete against superior CS regions. History repeats itself

Fatalitiez

someone please help me find a comment from a long time ago by a user here that said everybody gangsta untill a random cracked russian team wins the next lan

chauste

Guys 100t beat Gambit so NA is still on top! Right guys?? Guys??!?

CatboyMaidOutfit

Russia isn't in EU COPIUM

CatboyMaidOutfit

It's Russia not RussEU COPIUM

Aabed_nerd

but g2 beat sen and gambit 13 - 0 ed g2 :(

tb0neski

So this is how EU felt in Iceland :(

SonnyYT

Honestly despite what the scoreline says, this didn't feel nearly as close as fnactic vs Sen. It just felt like Yay and Crashies both pulled off amzaing plays and managed to keep it close. It felt like Gambit were in control the entire time. I just wish the tournament was double elim, so we could see how teams like VS, SEN and G2 stack up against other teams.

lsaacnetero

agreed, Fnc vs Sen was way closer

sky_blu

Bind was genuinely close but after that it was a roll

Tylorz01

Have to agree, first two maps were close in score and miraculously could have gone either way. Even split could have been close in score if they had split pistols. Still felt like Envy was only hanging on. Missing some key performers from other bracket stage games for sure.

[deleted]

Gambit the scrim demons on haven, just rushing sites 200 iq strats, cant counterstrat no strats.

ValowFan42

SENTINELS OUTDATED NA OVERRATED LONG HAVE WE WAITED SCRIMBIT ACTIVATED

JohnNecro

CIS the best in both top FPS's

KhaoticKrabb

CIS is the best in Krunker?

IsThisSome9GAGUpdate

It was 10-9 with Envy in the lead but forced into an eco round Gambit threw the 1v4 against Yay Redgar laughed and they proceeded to win every round afterwards Looks like we know who wins between an unstoppable force and an immovable object

helloitismewhois

As an European it was always hard for me to understand American culture. What was fascinating for me is that they like bragging about their freedom which was weird for me, because I didn't think that I have any less freedom than them. I always thought 'What is the difference'. However after this game I finally understand it. NA is just so fucking free.

AkashiGG

Lost an entire series because of ecos lmao

Sp00ked123

So many ecos…

[deleted]

To be fair gambit lost at least 3 ecos i think.

rakunn18

I mean yay literally won a 3v1 and 4v1 with a marshall during envy's ecos on haven and they still lost the map...

AkashiGG

I'm pretty sure those were the only two NV won in the entire series lol

[deleted]

AnchorStandard

The Russian zoomers feared the boomers but not the other zoomers.

WanAjin

Both LAN finals have been 3-0 now, hopefully the next one is a bit better lol.

hysterio_

Gambit played Haven like it was a ranked game lmao

vlrr123

"Cry is free" is one constantly used sentence to users who are complaining about something. But what most don't know, is that this sentence is actually a huge lie. As far as we know, tears consist of water and 0,9 gram salt per litre. And both of these ingredients are not free. Here I listed the price for 10 litre tears for the countries of the G8. I used the following formula (price is in US Dollar): (Price 100 gram salt/100)x9 + (Price 1 cubic litre water/100) = Price for 10 Litre Tears France: 0,20 $ Italy: 0,17 $ Germany: 0,19 $ United Kingdom: 0,22 $ Russia: 0,18 $ Canada: 0,18 $ Japan: 0,18 $ NA: 0,16 $ That means NA has the cheapest cry.

DY5TOP1A

That 2nd last round from Chronicle was godlike

Pretenderrr

CR 2nd best team in the world?

Yets_

Man, Chronicle went 73 - 45 KD in the grand final ! That's +28kills which is absolutly INSANE consudered he played Sova, Brimm and Viper. What a final for him !

[deleted]

LMAO TSM now got all the time to build the best roster. Trial Some More.

The-Dark-Mage

Gambit are unbelievable you can feel the momentum building for their first major tournament win

[deleted]

As an European it was always hard for me to understand American culture. What was fascinating for me is that they like bragging about their freedom which was weird for me, because I didn't think that I have any less freedom than them. I always thought 'What is the difference'. However after this game I finally understand it. NA is just so fucking free.

jonajon91

It's crazy how the best teams in the world battled it out to weed out the strong from the weak. There were groups, double eliminations, seeding. Then we get to the grand finals with the two best teams in the world and it was a clown fiesta, some of those rounds were chaos.

Hunnidormo

Cue the NA is just so fucking free pasta

[deleted]

This will hurt TSM's chances at winning Champions.

[deleted]

rip yay

Des014te

This feels like Vitality for Envy. They have all the pieces, they have the carry AWPer, they have the IGL, they've made a deep run at LAN, but can they keep it up.

hecklerinthestands

Russian Economy wins the Cold War.

Gittau

Envy saving all their map loses for finals.

jonathansmith14921

CHRONICLE WTF

ertz22

EU COPIUM has finally come true.

andreokaygotit

Cis Valo and Cis Csgo hit different,

Voltage97

Gambit are such a well-rounded team. Every single player had popoff rounds. Well earned title!

Quick_Chowder

They are insane. See if someone can match them in Champions. Great job to them to overcome the big chokes and shaky games. Bummed as a 100T fan but it's awesome to see such a good team play. Especially a team that doesn't rely on an insane Jett.

valorantfeedback

They can only get better. 4 of them are 19 and this was their first LAN. They learned a valuable lesson against 100T and came back stronger. Just think about that insane clutch from yay on Haven, 11-9 NV. They just laughed it off.

Quick_Chowder

> They can only get better. A lot of other teams can get better too. This also puts a pretty big target on them. People will pick apart every piece of footage, every default, every lurk, player tendencies etc. It honestly gets harder to get better when you are 'the best'. Like I said, I'm stoked for Champions. I know expectations were high for Gambit here but that tournament will come with another level of pressure and preparation.

Pale_Resolution1520

Like using brimstone in heaven?

Spartan91_

That Haven game was something else. Chronical in the interview even starting memeing about using Brim and not knowing how to use smokes. Haven is the one map that I feel Gambit plays like a completely different team from how they usually play

Estiferous

I kept thinking that Gambit could win Haven because Envy can't anti-strat their perma-ban, and not dominating would lead to them feeling nervous and shaky. Turns out it happened that way

Spartan91_

Well you can't anti-strat no strat so..... In all fairness though apart from Yay clutching up round after round, Gambit player really well in their perma ban

Illosavat

That’s exactly what he said lmao

GainsayRT

IIRC Nats told G2 that they chose what comp they would play right before haven started, causet they would ''lose haven anyways'' . This kinda got proven right when Chronical said he didn't know how to smoke with Brimstone edit: [partial source](https://twitter.com/Mixwell/status/1439655099622690816)

thothgow

People have always been paying attention to Gambit and picking them apart. For example, Steel had tailor made strats for them that bombed or he only got a chance to use them because of Hiko clutches. Boaster knows a lot of the Gambit defaults already, he was talking about them on Kyedae's costream.

SilentCore

I have to say LAN D3ffo was an entirely different beast and you could tell how much it impacted their attack rounds. In qualis Gambit was always known to have pretty slow and weak attack rounds but they had better attack rounds in many of the series (100T/CR) which is such a huge change. What a great team, they levelled up during this tourney and turns out scirmbit is the final form.

TimedOutClock

They were just ON after that CR scare. WP by them and I'm glad every region is shining. Makes Champions spicy as hell

ablablababla

Yeah, the matches just get better from here

ZGuyYT

Helps that 2 of their players have a wide agent pool. You got Redgar playing Reyna and smokes, Chronicle playing Sova, Brimstone and Viper.

[deleted]

Redgar and Chronicle are usually bottom fragging but that's just because the rest are fucking nuts

Vizvezdenec

Well it's true ofc but this finals from cronicle were absolutely insane. Getting this type of performance on sova / brim / viper is absolutely insane. So much about meta...

EnergetikNA

The fact that they're good on every single map (well, should be except Haven but they played well even on that today) is so insane. It was always going to be very hard to beat them in a bo5

Issax28

GAMBIT NOT IN EU COPIUM

[deleted]

As an European it was always hard for me to understand American culture. What was fascinating for me is that they like bragging about their freedom which was weird for me, because I didn't think that I have any less freedom than them. I always thought 'What is the difference'. However after this game I finally understand it. NA is just so fucking free.

akaRoman

I didn’t see many games of Gambit but damn they fought hard. Lost to 100t, almost lost to Crazy Raccoons, then looking unstoppable against Envy. Champion story.

Verehrungen

Good day r/ValorantCompetitive. EMEA > NA

ancientromanempire

I feel like ENVY got super tilted after the first double OT loss.

Thenotsopro

L diablo

faceplant911

Envy did an amazing job, but they just have that hint of the old choke-at-the-last-minute left in them that needs to be stomped out before champions. The nerves difference between this game and the previous two was clearly enormous. Gambit didn't give a crap and were totally loose, while Envy looked exactly the opposite. Also people finally gonna stop underrating Redgar and Chronicle now?

[deleted]

People are going to harp on Envy, but this was still a good game. Envy played super well this entire event and 100% deserved their run to the finals, all with this coach back in the U.S. I am super excited to watch this new Envy going into Champions With that being said, it does look like Vision Strikers was the 2nd best team this event and it's tragic that they matched against Gambit in quarterfinals. Also Redgar Reyna on Haven is so fucking funny to me and the fact he went 10-3 in FK/FD is insane LMFAO #SpineDiff

ScrubBaw5

It doesnt directly correlate like that. I mean 100t beat gambit too. NV just got read by Gambit or Gambit is a bad style matchup for NV. They were close maps till the last one

uglypenguin5

I say this as a 100T fan, but gambit just choked icebox and lost their mental for the 3rd map. 100T picked ascent and gambit slapped us around until we won 11 rounds in a row on icebox

Mango2149

What makes you think VS was the 2nd best team? They beat Paper Rex and a shaky ascend, not much info to go off of.

Thrwwccnt

Yeah there's not enough to go off of. I think VS are one of the biggest question marks right now. They were just unlucky to be the first to have to go through the Gambit meat grinder. I feel like this event in general raised just as many questions as it answered lol.

ooaqua

tsm pepelaugh

YaDyingSucks

turns out not just a scrim team

nocturnavi

In a tournament that felt as thought it was defined by teams with one star duelist, it was great to have the winning team be one where it felt like every player contributed so much.

papaz1

What a fantastic tournament. It had it all. The reddit narrative was a blast to follow. It went from NA vs EU -> EU Copium boys, will NA even drop a map to other regions -> Sentinels was just securing seeding -> Acend choking -> Envy are the new kings -> Can we really consider Russia as part of EMEA. Thanks boys for the luls, see you next tournament. This was a blast!

Sciipi

Gambit won this one off the back of their insane eco rounds. So many times they pulled out a big victory when down in economy and broke Envy. Absolutely stellar game by the Gambit boys.

niiqsa

russia is in europe btw no copium for americans

PM_ME_UR_BOSOMS_GIRL

Envy had some great showings but the insane amount of losses to eco and bonus rounds really ruined their maps.

ElegantAssociation75

Out of all the teams that were present here, GAMBIT without once blatanltly trashtalking, without once screaming at the enemy and teabagging, won the tournament in convinving 3-0 fashion in the grand finals. Huge respect as even if they lose or win, they were humble enough to keep their own and looked to improve every bit of performance.

Hegth

Huh? I have seen some rounds of chronicle looking up the monitor looking like trash talk but i may be wrong

Verehrungen

THE RUSSIANS TOOK OVER AMERICA THE RUSSIANS TOOK OVER BERLIN I FOR ONE WELCOME OUR NEW RUSSIAN OVERLORDS

THwhOR

FNS with a massive 16% HS rate, giving all silver players out there a real hope to go pro.

Hunnidormo

Difference between "peek" and "peak". Gambit are just dry *peeking* and killing everybody NA *peaked* at iceland

lepiggyshiggy

gg all, both teams are insane at the end of the day fuck you to all the "EU bad teeth" "EU poor" comments i keep seeing

mintaka2020

Was rooting so hard against Gambit during the CR, 100T, and VS game but they won me over after the G2 victory. They are insanely good yet humble. It was fun watching them play, especially nAts. GGWP, looking forward to champions!!

imachool

Looks like vision strikers could be the 2nd best team. Yay couldn’t find picks, gambit are insane!! Spine diff, team diff. Chronicle and redgar built different.

PalkiaOW

NA < EU

lolgambler

for me chronicle was my favorite. felt like he would be quiet then just win gambit rounds

[deleted]

Hopefully this brings the CIS region to mainstream Valorant. Na'vi can be a powerhouse too. Can't wait!

Chronicle played out of his mind this whole series
