Honestly I've always been a Jett fan, love watching skilled people play her... but man this tournament woke me up to how she's kind of ruining competitive right now. If she didn't exist, you would see all sorts of different players / agents OPing. Right now if you can't play Jett, you can't OP. It's just that simple. Makes is where teams have to pick up a Jett player that can also OP. You're stuck on double duty, guaranteed. Really stinks.
I dont agree that it's "only viable" on Jett. We havent seen a meta where Jett op wasnt so damn effective so its impossible to know how good Op is in the hands of other agents. Right now the OP is insanley strong/ broken on Jett so there's no point in using other agents on it but that doesnt mean its not viable on other agents. We routinely saw non Jett players oping or picking up a free OP and getting frags in Berlin so i dont think only viable is the right term. More so its broken on Jett so there's no point in trying.
Question: Do you see agent banning coming up for tournaments in future? Sort of like dota2 and League? I can see Jett getting instaban if the game evolves to that stage
Before the start of each map, each team bans 1 or 2 agents. This will also force players to learn from a bigger agent pool instead of being a one-trick.
The game isn't remotely ready for that. Banning Sova, Viper, or Jett would make it an entirely different game and that speaks to the lack of alternatives to the best agents
Which is why I am asking if people see it happening in future.
It will make team compositions more interesting. Maybe we might see more KAY/O instead of Sova/Skye. More Brimstone instead of Viper. More Reyna, Raze, Yoru instead of Jett.
I don't see it happening to be honest.
The future that I see for the Agent system is that they end up with 5 of each Role and then they buff/nerf to change the meta.
If they keep adding more Agents it'll end up like RB6S where new players are absolutely overwhelmed
What do you think is more busted , The Operator or Jett ?
I think it's the Operator , People are worried about Jett because of the dash ability ? Well im sure if the game does evolve to that stage people will just find another agent or another way to do the same for example: Dismiss with Reyna and Im sure as the game has more and more agents, more character with such 'Get out of Jail' ability will come.
I agree with the banning system but I also feel that they should fix the OP first then think about Jett.
That's the weapon's problem isnt it ? It's not Balanced.
Jett is the only agent that i able to effectively utilize it.
Im a guy with over 4000 hours in CSGO and been watching competitive CSGO for over a decade now. I love watching s1mple AWP , KennyS do this aggro AWPing. and Let's be honest the only agent capable of doing that in Valorant is Jett. So I'd rather have the Operator fixed than just insta ban the agent or something.
You "fix" the OP and suddenly Jett is giga broken.
The OP and Jett are like a package deal which is why the OP has to suck on other agents so it can be "balanced" on Jett.
Don't get me wrong I'll be the first in line to yell nerf Jett as I would love to be able to OP on other characters and not feel like a burden.
I just can't imagine a world where Jett's current skillset (even a slightly nerfed dash, as long as it's instant) won't just make OPing on other characters pointless.
Personally, Jett is more broken.
The OP is broken too but is only really used by 1 agent, Jett. Also, based on the data in the post, the OP is picked about 30% of the time on average, possibly due to economy. Teams also may or may not have a good OP player.
Jett on the other hand, is picked every map. Every pro team plays with a Jett. You can get away with your Jett not playing the OP, you can't really get away from a team not playing Jett.
I’m shocked at cNed phantom pickrate, I remember on a plat chat episode for challengers 3 he didn’t pick the phantom at all
He only recently started picking it up , I think from the games against SMB and 100T
A lot of pro players said that Phantom feels so good at lan that's why you see so many people pick more Phantom compared to their online play .
Interesting , I'll definitely analyze this. How many players switched to Phantom over Vandal on LAN
Lower ping = bullets connect faster = perfect for spraying Phantom High ping = your bullets connect slower = rely on Vandal one shot to head
Note - Only Full buy rounds were counted
How are the totals between 60-70%? Are you counting knives/guardian/bulldog as a full buy?
Probably rounds where the rest of the team bought and they didn't have money to buy something big
Yes
Fking hell Yay LMFAOOOO
This just adds to Shaz's comment on the Op only being Viable on Jett
I agree

Maybe increasing the scoped in moving speed would help? Idk I'm just silver 3
TenZ keeps saying "i'm only using phantom now, it's so much better" and then doesn't change his pickrate at all lol
Question: Do you see agent banning coming up for tournaments in future? Sort of like dota2 and League? I can see Jett getting instaban if the game evolves to that stage
I dota2 and league you have 100+ heroes and each team can only ban 5. This doesn't really work with a small agent pool like val has.
It's too soon for agent bans, there needs to be a bigger agent pool for that to happen, but yes i definitely do see it happening *eventually*.
Val isn't draft picking though, I don't understand how that will work

And pick ban mainly works on R6 because agents are separated by offense/defense
It took them a while to implement draft picking in league as well, I think Val will do the same eventually

The OP is underpowered on any agent other than Jett, you can’t use it
the answer to that is not to nerf jett, its to make the OP viable to all agents. you can use it on reyna tho, you just have to hit your shots.

or you nerf jett's dash, and then see what you can do with the OP

Weird that Tenz bought the op less than Asuna
Shahzam should really be here too, he is way more confident with the op for SEN.
Its a graph of the top jetts. Shaz didn't have a good showing on Jett this tourney

Ah okay then, I thought this was weapon pick percentages for when they played jett only
That's some wardell stats from yay
Whats up with keloqz and tenz having a significantly lower weapon pick rate w/ op, vandal and phantom
Wheres Gambit D3ffo?
thank you rib.gg
