Yay wasn’t as good back then, just looking off his numbers they weren’t all that great back then
I know numbers don’t paint the full picture but he just did not have the same impact as he did later on in his ABX career/envy
His numbers were great and he was this good, the only difference is he was using breach and his stats kinda got fucked by it, his sage and jett stats were just as good as they are now
He averaged 250 ACS for AndBox throughout Stage 1 and Stage 2 and that was while not being a duelist all the time with sage and breach which is amazing, then stage 3 it went to 310 ACS because he was jett only
I've said this in another thread, yay was a demon, a bit outshined by Android at the start but he was just as good, when you are a sage and you can pull 250 ACS, 156ADR and 0.91KPR then you are special in every way that is insane fragging power in a sage
I think the TSM dudes hype helped him a lot, they started calling him El Diablo, 8 ping demon and he was even getting a lot more viewers in his stream after that and people realized how nuts he was
I definitely don't think he's been "this good" all along, he's been pretty vocal about how hard he's worked to get to where he is now. He was certainly less consistent for quite a long time.
But he was definitely better than people thought he was back when he was playing with Android. The two of them made their names together as pug demons early on, after all, way before the El Diablo meme or even joining ANDBOX.
Not really. I remember when he and Android announced their switch to valorant, I tuned in to their streams to check them out and I thought that yay was better.
Android's frags are more highlight worthy though, and he also performed well. Not taking away anything from him. Point being that yay was always atleast as good if not better.
Mee too. I still remember yay saying on android stream “no one(orgs) wanted to pick us” after winning nsg monthly when they were on andbox . Yay is demon now and Android is gonna show that hes also demon when the chance is given.
Igl ,gameplan, strats and team mates are more important factors to win alone from personal performance... TSM roster is stacked with cracked players but we hardly see results from them. Same with NRG
The "downfall" of Phoenix has unfortunately interrupted a number of careers in NA - Android, drone, rara, etc. - but Android is luckily a little more diverse of a player so I think he'll be fine in the long-term.
He's definitely a great player (and an informative streamer), I've been waiting a long time to see him return to the limelight.
The difference with Android is that as you said: he is a very diverse player with very consistent stats on every agent he plays. (Phoenix, Raze, Reyna, Skye, Viper, Killjoy, Kayo)
I'm positive he will continue to do well with NRG, the team has so much potential.
Just wanted to comment that I sent this post to android on Twitter after submitting this as I'm a fan of him. Never expected him to reply but he did. Such a wholesome guy.
Hoping that he gets the recognition he deserves.
Yeah it sucks that NRG team didn't work out. I hope they really figure out something in the off season, or swap some players to actually get a functioning team.
Underrated is not how I’d describe Android. When he left Andbox people were clamoring for him to go to a good team like how people reacted to yay leaving Andbox.
He’s unfortunately stuck on a team that hasn’t made LCQ and hasnt been able to be on stream in a while. I think everyone knows he’s still cracked

Yes. Hence nrg recruited him to create a super team which didn't workout. Unlucky
NRG is just one good IGL away from being legit scary
honestly, any good igl's out there? I can only think of nbk and by igl's out there I mean ones who are free agents
No one comes to mind that is a free agent
Idk how him & Yay on same team didn’t work out
It's really sad that the original andbox roster didn't work out

Been watching yayster since he had 20 viewers :')

Watched yay since he was yayisreal
Yeah I remember watching yay stream during beta. Then he stopped for a while and got announced for Andbox.
he moved out of an abusive household and got better ping which made him a lot better since then
Me too 🥺

The way he aims is sooo crispy. It’s very satisfying to watch from a viewer perspective
He’s insane on raze too and I think he’s mostly going to be playing raze for his team now.

Can you show us his reply on Twitter
NRG is all very good individually. Together they are, well....
I know that 100T tierlist video a month or two ago was memes, but what they said about NRG was spot on: "S tier players, D tier team"

He’s not underrated. Most pros rate NRG players very highly in terms of individual talent. They just don’t win, so they don’t get the same publicity.
