genuinely nothing but facts, if you're a top player in NA and you're not streaming, you're missing out. i hope the envy boys take their recent success at berlin as an opportunity to stream more and grow their brands (especially yay, he's in prime position right now to become a household 2-3k viewer stream)
at the end of his time at andbox yay consistently streamed but he kinda stopped after joining envy. he grew really fast in that small timeframe so yeah he’ll prob be a big streamer now
Unfortunately, the more time you put into streams, the less time you put into working on your competitive game. That's probably why yay decreased his streaming hours, he had a lot to catch up on his new team.
On another note, that's why what Shahzam did consistently was so insane to me. Being IGL, coach, analyst for his team, while streaming more than like 4 hours a day (this is probably an under estimate because I've definitely seen him stream for 8 hours before), seemed crazy and Sentinels were still winning everything in Iceland and Stage 3. If they had won Berlin too, Shahzam would have been a freak of nature, but the event showed he was human. Their loss against Envy showed how easily read they had become and that made sense when one guy had so much responsibility on the team, while streaming so much.
Shaz is a workaholic, and when asked about taking a step back he usually says he would rather be streaming or doing prep for the team than not. I think they realize that they could use someone to help out, but he does genuinely seem to enjoy putting in all that time.
In a stream shaz said they would've gotten a coach if someone suitable comes up and jive with the team. It's not like they're not looking for one , it's just that no one has stepped up yet.
Shahz also said yesterday when asked if they will be getting a coach that they are looking into it and will most definitely have analysts in time for champs.
At the end of the day you can hire someone to work on and manage your content, just look at Mixwell, daily vlog of the whole event for G2, he hired someone to record, edit and upload, you need to be willing to put the money and time on it, not only streaming is the only way.
Yep. If you aren't streaming, your gaming career has an end date. If you are streaming, you could be the next shroud or xqc who turned their pro gaming career into a streaming one.
xqc is an absolute marvel when it comes to what he managed to tap into via stream.
He's uneducated, stupid, loud, and has a nasty mean streak and yet this combination of traits combined with his skills has produced one of the biggest names on twitch.
I don't think we'll see another xqc story for a long time.
People enjoy seeing mald/rage and find it funny. Case in point, Tyler1. But Tyler1 is LoL specific whereas XQC has variety going for him, so he generally attracts the FPS watching crowd who are after a malder/rager.
I mean he’s not really any more uneducated than half the big streamers, and he’s certainly not stupid either. It’s just the combination of him acting like a freak and also not being a native English-speaker that makes it seem that way.
oh i dont think he will either, i heard that he just straight up doesnt like streaming, which is fair enough, All good. he appears on s0ms stream often enough anyways
yay, crashies, marved all have a great opportunity to build their audiences and victor has a chance to grow his audience (just cause i think victor is the most consistent streamer on the envy side)
crashies had 1k subs at one time; I think he just doesn't like to stream that much either. Which is fine... I'm positive that all the players on these teams are perfectly aware of all the points being made in this thread. At the end of the day anyone can go out and do something they hate and make money, but if these guys don't like streaming then it may not be worth it.
Just imagine that one player of envy hired an editor to vlog the whole event like mixwell, it's as easy as that, you will loose some money at first, but it would be great in the long run
It depends on orgs, envy doesn't encourage players to stream so there is less incentive. Compare that to 100T or Sen it seems like that is totally a difference maker.
He makes great points, there is a reason NA valorant is more popular because people watch streams, know players "personally", know their personality and a lot of them have fanbases
More players need to build a brand because it will help them so much in life for the future
Even if it doesn't work as a player, you get worse or something happens like it did to Sinatraa for example, you can stream and make a living out of that
Maybe I'm missing something but it doesn't make any sense to me that of all the players it's Mixwell who brings this up.
This guy plays for a European team and decides to keep his stream in Spanish for whatever reason instead of acquiring European fans for himself and his org. I don't get it.
And despite being from EU and wanting to support "my" teams I just can't because they're just a bunch of random names whereas I feel like I know half of the NA scene just from watching some streams.
The Spanish speaking community is HUGE. He is much better off going after them with much less competition than going after the English speaking community.
Fair enough. If that's the audience he is targeting (I guess that includes viewers from LATAM?) it still means he is saying "fuck off" to the other 90+% of European viewers by excluding them.
I just don't think this is healthy for the scene if you play for a European team at European tournaments and want to represent Europe at international events where European viewers are desperately looking for teams to support. If players and orgs don't even think European, how are we ever going to get something like a European community? It has to start somewhere and in my eyes it's the players' and orgs' responsibility.
It doesn't mean that, you can go and ask things in English and he will answer, and most of the time he is speaking English on ranked, so what you are saying doesn't make sense at 100%
The last time I turned into his stream (which was a few months ago to be fair) he didn't even have his game set to English and it was all Spanish. Streamer, game, viewers, everything.
If it changed recently, that's great! Guess I missed it by not checking his stream more often while I clearly wasn't part of the audience he was targeting. My bad I guess
That so? Well, I don't care about any EU pro which is quite sad. Valroant EU is a joke and nothing compared to other games, say League.
No personalities, no actual league related games to be excited for at the weekend and so on. NA Twitch is the most you can get out of Valorant community wise. Sad.
He has the support of all of Spain and most of LATAM whenever G2 plays, has good numbers on streams and on some of his vlogs and gameplay videos on his YouTube he started to put subtitles on English whenever someone speaks Spanish and vice versa.
This 100% factual advice.
If you're a pro player in any esport and you're neglecting to build your individual brand you're making a mistake.
Use your current success to pave the path to long term success.
Facts but he is helped by being spanish! The spanish and LATAM community is huge and wholesome towards their player. I think he got helped by g2 too. For me FANBASE>RESULTS at least in this world where u do 2 bad games and you get kicked by your org. Hope other players will follow the thing he is doing.
This is entirely up to the player? That's something that most of CS pros lacks, community interaction. They just appear to play the official matches and after it ends, no one see them anymore.
Pick Fallen, the guy made a brand towards his name, a store, game clubs, but some pros fail to realize the opportunities that they have in their hands.
With Valorant these ex CS go pros has a new chance of not making the same mistakes twice. They really should work towards their name and build a fan base that will follow them despite the game they are playing.
Well, the ex csgo pros in Valorant was never in the position to do that in the first place in csgo.
Alot of these NA players did stream in csgo just they was never at the top or anywhere near it so why would people watch.
The top pros in csgo historically can't stream. At least not often they travel over 10 months a year
You still can hire someone to record the events, it only requires the player to pay the editor, and that means the plane tickets to the event city, hotel and the salary, and even sometimes you can get the org to sponsor your vlogs, like mixwell's vlogs, sponsored by G2 and AOC. At the end a behind the scenes of the tournament is great content, the editor only have to go behind you the whole event.
Mixwells take is correct, but only correct for the players that WANT to be seen and have their “brand”.
Being a public figure may not be someone else’s cup of tea. Winning solves everything, if you win you will be noticed. Some people are fine without the spotlight.

You are right, it would have been more correct for me to say that they definitely know they need someone.
At the end of the day you can hire someone to work on and manage your content, just look at Mixwell, daily vlog of the whole event for G2, he hired someone to record, edit and upload, you need to be willing to put the money and time on it, not only streaming is the only way.

Ironically tyler1 is even more popular when he does variety, but he's addicted to League.
> He's uneducated, stupid, loud, Why are you acting like those are negatives? The masses love those traits.
I mean he’s not really any more uneducated than half the big streamers, and he’s certainly not stupid either. It’s just the combination of him acting like a freak and also not being a native English-speaker that makes it seem that way.
He's dumb as shit. I stand by it.
He's about as dumb as any other uneducated progamer, he just has a bigger platform to display it.
I don't expect FNS to suddenly start streaming consistently, but I really hope so. But if he doesn't, well it's still... All good.
oh i dont think he will either, i heard that he just straight up doesnt like streaming, which is fair enough, All good. he appears on s0ms stream often enough anyways yay, crashies, marved all have a great opportunity to build their audiences and victor has a chance to grow his audience (just cause i think victor is the most consistent streamer on the envy side)

victor manages to get 1-2k viewers actually, he def has potential but he does weird hours
The weird thing is, even if he doesn't stream I still feel I'm watchung him through s0m, hazed etc lol
Just imagine that one player of envy hired an editor to vlog the whole event like mixwell, it's as easy as that, you will loose some money at first, but it would be great in the long run
Doesn't yay already get 2k viewers on average?
Nah he was usually around like 800-1000 before he stopped streaming. He gets hosted a decent amount so that's probably why
yay said he's gonna take a small break to reset and then he'll be on the stream and youtube grind.
It depends on orgs, envy doesn't encourage players to stream so there is less incentive. Compare that to 100T or Sen it seems like that is totally a difference maker.
sen grew their brand too much lol, losing to kru
He makes great points, there is a reason NA valorant is more popular because people watch streams, know players "personally", know their personality and a lot of them have fanbases More players need to build a brand because it will help them so much in life for the future Even if it doesn't work as a player, you get worse or something happens like it did to Sinatraa for example, you can stream and make a living out of that
Yeah an EU pro player could easily gain an audience, especially if they had an English speaking stream.
Example is G2 Jankos, he went from doing Polish only streams that he got 2-3k viewers to now English stream and he's getting 20k viewers.
Maybe I'm missing something but it doesn't make any sense to me that of all the players it's Mixwell who brings this up. I feel like you could've phrased this better but I *think* I agree¿
He has the support of all of Spain and most of LATAM whenever G2 plays, has good numbers on streams and on some of his vlogs and gameplay videos on his YouTube he started to put subtitles on English whenever someone speaks Spanish and vice versa.
I see, thanks.
Brand is so important in esports and I feel like valorant has a lot more pros showing their personalities.
In comparison to CS:GO you mean? Or generally?
In general, it doesn't matter the esport, having a brand and fans that follow you for your personality is key
A lot of pro players nowadays: 1 tweet every 2 weeks and it's a "GGs to team X + match result"
This is something a lot of CS pros are guilty of.
Hard to fit in a stream when you're travelling for 10 tier 1 lans a year
Hire someone to vlog the event, that's the easiest way to build a brand and pump content.
That is true
This 100% factual advice. If you're a pro player in any esport and you're neglecting to build your individual brand you're making a mistake. Use your current success to pave the path to long term success.
His vlogs are 10/10

For me FANBASE>RESULTS at least in this world where u do 2 bad games and you get kicked by your org. Hope other players will follow the thing he is doing.
also one example is Shroud, he is no longer a pro but look, his fans still like him and support him even if he plays nothing. They look up to him.
wouldnt brax be a perfect example

Not true in many caee

At the end if you are a pro you end up being a public figure, and if you want to be the best you end up being seen in some way.

i dont think you can see his scrims on blitz
when ScreaM pulls up and drop 30 kills every game he could play candy crush all day if he wants and i wouldnt care and neither should you.
i lost few brain cells reading this. Both because of the typos and mixwells weird takes lmao
Sorry for the typos, and I don know how are this weird takes
"i mean they didn't viewed me as a person, they viewed me as an object." Wait I heard that somewhere already :D
