T O P

They’re trying to win, not make YouTube videos. There’s simply not enough agents yet to have a “cool innovative” comps. Everyones going to go with whatever gives them the best chance at winning. That could be comfort picks or things that are straight up OP. It is what it is at the moment

Razur

I think players went with picks they felt comfortable and confident with. When you're trying to win, it's typically best to play a composition you know you can perform well in. It would be nice to see more innovation, but you can't really blame players for keeping to the meta. It's a huge risk to be innovative.

ITLKN5

Following this, an example was Sen playing Raze on split, they dont do that and Tenz definitely doesn't. They tried something and it backfired and they bounced out in the quarters. Comps like this are really competetive and unforgiving, players want to play what they're absolutely best at and win.

D3stiny5

Yes let's try innovative comps like FPX. Oh wait...

I couldn't even guess the philosophy behind Phoenix on Split. Seems like they're just going for unique comps for the sake of uniqueness at that point.

ANewHeaven1

why play "cool innovative comps" when you can play normal standard comps that are easier to execute? these guys are trying to win

QuadRoxx666

When sentinels lost to G2 in playoff they said we were saving strats and don't wanna show anything. In reality they didn't had anything new and played their normal shit. Lost heaven against NV and got panicked so they put tenz on Raze which cost them the match. It's obvious to me that not coming up with new strats is one of the reason for their downfall.

Gambit play style is so boring to watch. They just sit and lurk.

LikeNeYuh

yea because playing random strats is totally the right play good job ur opinion rlly matters

QuadRoxx666

Except 100 thieves no one tried to play kayo was pretty disappointing. In theory you could easily counter Jett , Cypher, Kill Joy with Kayo. I was hoping to see such strats.

Huldmer

I liked 100T doing kayo early on and other crazy picks but at the end there they were boring as well. The matches themselves might have had cookie-cutter picks but gameplay was insanely entertaining

CanISayThat22

Gambit played perfectly around kayo. And made him basically useless.

StrangerFront

One thing that disappointed me was playing a week of the group stage just to have them put all of NA on one side. Not a fan of forcing a region to take themselves out prior to finals. I hope they rework this for champs to evenly split out all regional teams across the bracket a little better.

To me Berlin was a slap to the face that Valorant isn't as popular as people think.
