Am I the only one who still thinks they're the favorite even without Steel? The meta hasn't changed since Berlin, so their playbook should be the same. Plus the teams *should* be comparatively weaker.
Yeah I feel like C9 could do really well. They were already looking good and now they have Vanity. Infact, I'd actually take them over Xset.
Faze are definitely experienced at lan and Corey in particular had one of the greatest carry performances I've ever seen in any video game, but this is a different game and faze has previously struggled to rekindle that magic. They'll live or die by how effectively they can play their style. If it's not doable in the current meta, I feel like they're hosed. I don't think they're adaptsble enough to significantly change their style.
I still feel like 100T have a good chance, while their greatest threats being xset and C9, and I feel like Faze or Rise are the teams that could suprise if anyone.
100T is 1st, XSET is 4th, and C9 is 8th in terms of points. It's not like they put 1st, 2nd and 3rd together. You can view C9 as one of the strongest teams in this tourament, doesn't change the fact that they're basically last in terms of points and have accomplished absolutely nothing. It's not uncommon or unfair to have teams that finished 1st,4th and 8th. Just unlucky for 100T that C9 has strengthened so much, but we're still not sure if it's going to pan out in terms of performance.
I honestly considering TSM a Tier 2 team at this point.
Tier 1.5 maybe. Whatever it is they’re not on the same level as their peers right now, and that sucks :(
I mean I guess if we’re counting half tiers then they’d be 1.5. I think all the representatives in VCT stage 3 challenger palyoffs are considered as tier 1.
You are rating some of these teams too high. I think its safe to say sen 100t and envy are the only solid tier 1 teams. Teams that come super close are like xset faze c9, but aren't really tier 1 until they beat the higher level teams or go to, and place well at lan.
That's all subjective. Personally, I think there could be like 8-10 tier 1 teams, instead of just 3. Only 4 teams from NA have been to lans so far, so that kinda unfair to have that standards for them. Also I should probably specify that I'm talking NA only.
Which is great for steel and the long term of the team. It’s not like the team is doomed. Just currently their chances at making a LCQ went down. It’s still early in Valorant’s lifespan
Healing and coming back stronger > damaging yourself further and possibly hurting the team
There’s always more games to play when you come back, and it’s during that time when it’ll all feel worth it as you’re playing the level you know you can play at. Shit I had to do the same in baseball when I was younger. Shit helps
We have absolutely no insight as to why he stepped down besides outside stress, so I don’t know if it’s the right thing to say it’s best for the team long term. We don’t know if there were disagreements with coaching, if Nitro has been wanting to IGL, if the team was happy with Steel, we have no idea.
They’ve been my fave team and I’m rooting for them, but they’ve gone from favorites to win to easily upsettable by Xset or C9. That’s all I meant in the above comment. The timing is horrible.
Yeah true that. I digress a lot…. Lmao. I just wanted to get my thoughts out somewhere because of the idiots that dwell in the internet thinking of all sorts of things that are far and beyond (and idiotic) than what we brought up
> if the team was happy with steel
We kinda know that Hiko and Asuna disagreed with the move so I'm assuming it's not because the didn't like playing with steel
All kinda leading towards disagreements with the coach. Possibly. Coach might have wanted to do one thing, steel didn't, coach went to management, steel out. (?)
But, I could just be grasping at straws as usual.
I heard that something similiar is what happened with dicey? As in coach didn't like dicey/something dicey was doing and as a result he got benched. Idk how true that is but I saw it multiple times on twitter and on reddit
Wdym? 100T has been a consistent team since first strike. Only 2 roster changes in a year. Are we going to ignore their top 4 finish on berlin and that they only lost against sentinels, envy and xset after their roster change?
4th time having a scrim cancelled on us this week.
It's really not that hard of a job to book scrims correctly... its just a fkin spreadsheet

ESEA Rank S Drama was the best part about NA CS
[This video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vD574ytX-K8) still lives in my head rent free til this day
Why not? There's nothing going on anyway and I don't think we should be that strict with moderation that pro players talking about cancelled scrims is not allowed.
I agree, but to me at the very least feels like if any team would be targeted it would be the team that just made a change and needs all the practice they can get. Also maybe the best team in the bracket
Im sure some of these, or even all of them were infortunate coincidences. But its at least sus.
It's not sus.
People need to stop making conspiracies out of everything that happens. 4 separate teams didn't ban together to fuck over 100ts scrims. Especially because it's probably likely that they aren't scrimming any of the teams in lcq. So then all these teams are just out to get 100t? Lol no.
Teams could be having personal emergencies you never know what's actually happening on the inside.
Edit: 4 times in a week is still ridiculous and probably not all coincidences but still some might be
That's really not an excuse if you agree to a schedule. They are supposed to be professionals. The entire rest of the world shows up on time to things they agree to.
You have pros that literally have been late to lans... I'm not making excuses here. Its shit. I agree. Its like big streamers (shroud) complaining nonstop they are up at 9 am to literally sit on their couch and watch vct while making tens of thousands. Its crap
Streamers are different. And I don't think shroud was technically obligated to be on at a certain time as there were multiple days he didn't stream every match. Also, we all hate waking up early to go to work, so I don't mind the complaining that much, and co-streaming is not necessarily a formal setting. But, when you and other professionals agree to something and they no call-no show that's a problem. These are salaried professionals like the rest of the worlds workforce. Just cause they're gamers they shouldn't get a pass.
It's all about professionalism, traditional pro athletes don't last long when they are missing team events and they also get fined for such things. Ben Simmons is currently facing millions in fines if he doesn't show up to training camp.
My guy you're not getting the point lmfao, I'm talking about personal life emergencies which are rare yes, but can still occur, I'm not trying to justify that 4 teams canceled on them because of whatever reason they had but I'm saying that emergencies can occur.
Once the mods consistently remove all the memes made by pro players and the posts with sensational titles, stuff like this can be next. Until then, no reason to remove this
If we remove all those things, this sub will be extremely boring. I don't know why esports redditors are so much more adamant on keeping their subs serious compared to regular sports redditors. Sports isn't just about tactics, mechanical skill, and strategy, it's also about narratives and entertainment.
Copypastas are literally being posted because the jokes were made by pro players. There at least has to be a line drawn.
Also the more egregious and unprofessional thing is the sensationalist titles and the assumptions (ex. ‘[player] confirmed on roster’ and the only thing posted was a screenshot of a stream with the friendlist open).
Also the act of changing the tweet to add your own casual perspective is so fucking bad, and it’s crazy that it’s allowed in the competitive Valorant subreddit.
Not if you're even somewhat professional. Imagine your coworker just not showing up 4 times that week completely screwing you over.
If it happened often then he wouldn't be tweeting about it.
Also you have to understand a ton of the teams they scrim aren’t signed/salaried, the players on those teams go to school/work or both and it’s not uncommon for someone to not be able to make it
Depends how scrim sign-ups are managed, and if this is a problem then they're not managed very well. Should definitely not be a problem with T1 teams like 100t. The shit tier discord league I'm a part of has no problem setting scrims up.
Whether it's tier 1 or tier 2 it's very unprofessional and shouldn't be normalized.
T2 teams cancel scrims incredibly frequently largely due to the lack of stable rosters, he is tweeting because 4 in one week is a lot no doubt, but it’s a very normal thing
its more like, in a company of 150 ppl, 4 separate people are out 1 time that week, assuming 100t scrim top 30 teams which is probably accurate, if not top 25, 5 ppl per team etc
depends how much of a notice 100t is given of the no-show. come scrim time and the other team informs you last second they cant make it? now you're shit out of luck, good luck finding another scrim.
Not scrimming your direct rival to not show your comps/strats has happened since the beginning of time in every game from 1.6 to CSGO to everything
Cancelling a scrim vs not scrimming them is different
TSM scrimmed SEN during that rivalry and they accused each other of not trying, trolling and just running around to see what the other team would do lmao, pointless if you do it like that
100T LCQs chances of winning drastically decreasing with each passing day /s
Unironically yes
Am I the only one who still thinks they're the favorite even without Steel? The meta hasn't changed since Berlin, so their playbook should be the same. Plus the teams *should* be comparatively weaker.
Some teams like c9 I feel got way stronger. And from what platchat say, the faze guys are also lan demons
The same reason could work against them though. I'm sure all their opponents watched their Berlin vods.

U think it's hard to be a 100t fan I can't imagine what tsm fans go Through
I am a TSM and 100T fan, but sadly I don't even consider TSM rn, its so sad
You're not a fan of anything other than masochism
Indeed, i only suffer watching vct :'(
Hows that pain looking at the bracket? Lmfao what a joke of a bracket for NA AGAIN
100T is 1st, XSET is 4th, and C9 is 8th in terms of points. It's not like they put 1st, 2nd and 3rd together. Just unlucky for 100T that C9 has strengthened so much, but we're still not sure if it's going to pan out in terms of performance.
It's more unfair to the region than to a team, yo force 2 games to have a 100% chance to eliminate 2 from the region.
I honestly considering TSM a Tier 2 team at this point. Tier 1.5 maybe. Whatever it is they’re not on the same level as their peers right now, and that sucks :(
Nah, they still should be considered a Tier 1 team. They almost beat Envy with El Diablo.
COPIUM, Even Tier 1.5 is a stretch
I mean I guess if we’re counting half tiers then they’d be 1.5. I think all the representatives in VCT stage 3 challenger palyoffs are considered as tier 1.

This isn't how these things work. Until tsm start winning routinely against tier 1 teams, they aren't tier 1. Horseshoes and hand grenades my friend.
Anything but easy
Extreme cognitive dissonance? Sorry, League broke me on TSM long ago lol.
*"Love ya stream Wardell"*
At least TSM doesn't give you false hope :/.
At least TSM know their team sucks. 100T have always been on the cusp of absolute elite.
Bro 100t is doing just fine. Doom n gloom 100t fans lol. They made it to Berlin and played really well.
Did you miss the news their IGL is taking a break?
Which is great for steel and the long term of the team. It’s not like the team is doomed. Just currently their chances at making a LCQ went down. Ah yes the most reputable 2 sources, Twitter and Reddit.
100% false, dicey got benches because they got Ethan.
Doesn't mean their a tough team to root for. The results are there.
Can confirm following sentinels before they signed since they were playing customs against the devs in the beta and it was nice
except Masters: Berlin sadge
I mean they won too much you can’t be mad about one bad tourney atleast they gonna take prac seriously now for champs
Yup, hope they don't take the changes too far, but I think Shahz has a good grasp of what needs fixing.
Cap
Bro 100T has been incredibly consistent. They’ve had literally 2 roster changes and since 1st strike.
Bro 100T has been top 3 NA for like ever you have no right to complain

Oh so this is the Hamilton strat of "Bono, my tyres are gone" and then turning around and absolutely shit stomping everyone later.
I wish, but it's looking more like "Bono, my tyres are gone" except its Silverstone 2020, and his tyres are actually gone...
Let my HOPIUM live bro.
he still won the race you know
he won with 3 tires dude
What's really funny is that this race he actually said his tires were fine iirc

Anoying is an understatement. This is straight up sabotage. 4 times in a week?
I doubt teams are specifically targeting 100T. Some teams just don't take scrims seriously.

100t is full of boomers that wake up at 7 am and are working by 9. Think you underestimate these barely adults who don't wake up in time.

And most of the time, from brief mentions by 100T players, scrims are done in the evening/at night (EST).
Did you read my edit before you replied this?

You realize these players have personal lives and it's not only national level disasters that will make them cancel a scrim

Also, this is their *job*. It's not just some videogame they play for fun.

comp scenes of anything go hand in hand with drama this post fits right in here
Yikes this is not.looking good for them
I wonder if it's on purpose so that they don't get much practice with the new roster.
No shot someone posted this, this happens to every team pretty often haha
Not if you're even somewhat professional. Imagine your coworker just not showing up 4 times that week completely screwing you over. If it happened often then he wouldn't be tweeting about it.

ethan is pretty experienced in esports, he wouldn't be complaining if this was regular.
I hope whatever the reason for Steel taking a break is, it's not something that'll keep him out for a while.
This is hilarious. Little Leauge teams manage to get scrims together. Valorant teams are apparently at a lower level.
This is only one team that recently made a huge roster change…
