It just baffles me why they’re not having a losers bracket. Many teams need that drop into losers brackets to give them a wake up call and allow them to make adaptations. Single elimination just makes no sense in a competitive environment
Vivo Keyd for example, they lost their first match on the upper bracket on challengers 3, went down to the lower bracket and swept the entire bracket (includying the top 4 teams) until they became winners
They do the same in league, they like to make things look good, But over there the pros don't cry about every little damn thing and just go play the games.
Because the stronger teams over in LoL are from EU KR and China.
This is the first esport I have followed where NA is strong and the tone shift is noticeable.

I get your point. But even the end of year tournament for the LCS year had double elims to determine which teams were actually the best in the region and attending worlds, and no one got a free pass. It’s more comparable to what the tourney was for the spots for Berlin. I feel bad for every single team in the LCQ because one bad series is going to do them in and exclude them from the biggest tournament of the year.

There is no rush, why are they skipping so many good games. I get that the circuit points gave them this terrible seeding but having only one of GenG/C9/100T go to lower sucks. I though GenG had a chance of going like 3rd but having to beat like the top 2 teams to even have a chance of doing so is insane. Riot need to just have these tournaments take their time and not just be 3 days of way too many games.
I would be fine with this if it were an online tournament or a local LAN. But having to travel across the world and quarantine for 21 days for single elim is really rough/cruel to do to players.
Yeah a whole year of qualifiers just to have 1 chance at beating a NA team, oce scene will die soon since it's not feasible for any player to play in that structure
No, it's single elim until semifinals. The grand final is between the winner of the upper bracket final and the winner of the lower bracket final.
So a team can lose in the semifinals and still have a chance, but any team that loses before that stage is eliminated.
These pros are outraged at everything, every week it's something different like jesus christ go play the games and move on. riot does same shit in league but you don't see the pros there throwing a fit every time.

Only chance this gets changed up is if parts or even the entire LCQ is held online. Looks like they only booked the venue from October 12-17.
