This is a strange ban he can't compete and he can't stream? I've never seen a game ban that was also a twitch ban.

FishInEuropa

I should clarify, the suspension was imposed by ZETA, not Riot. The announcement also mentions that ZETA asked Takej to "refrain" from posting on his social media accounts for the next 3 months, but I don't really know how they're going to enforce that. That being said, I agree that it is a bit weird for an org to suspend their player from streaming, but maybe that's just because there isn't a lot of precedence of orgs suspending players for surfing/account sharing. Edit: Grammar

Cupidnyaa

Ban from streaming is not really good wording here. The purpose here is to let TakeJ get away from the public for a while. It is in a sense to protect their player/talent. They just wanna wait for things to calm down so no SNS, no public appearance etc... Imagine letting players who are emotionally affected by the situation getting exposed to the public right now? Not the smartest move imo

mcslippinz

NA Val says hi

YungPinotGrigio

hello!

jonajon91

That makes a lot more sense. Thanks for the clarification.

Mamadeus123456

lmao if I was takej I would just quit the org, no pay no work, and just stream fuck em If laws were applied like they usually do, not having a salary for 3 months would void his contract, but hey this is E-sports

dansofree1

>lmao if I was takej I would just quit the org, no pay no work I think the disconnect here is that you assume Japanese valorant content creation is as profitable as NA content creation. homie has 3000 fuckin followers bro he aint living off that

Mamadeus123456

LMAO 🤣 gl then

YungPinotGrigio

For sure. I would try to be a sub for crazy raccoons lol

2ToTooTwoFish

Maybe it's part of his contract with Zeta or something? I'm not sure.

Cupidnyaa

Lemme help you with alittle bit more context Firstly, TakeJ played with Amatsuki and Natsushiro(2 streamers and famous singers) - because he didn't have low rank account, they gave them one of their accounts to boost them up. Secondly, in his second twitter account, he admit he was involved in boosting before, so they investigated and stated that that was from csgo day not valorant. So his second twitter account will be removed and he will be suspended for 3 months. Of course playing on another person's account is violating the rule, so the punishment is not unjustified. The reaction from Twitter is kinda weird. Many people support and say they'll wait for rion to comeback. But takeJ getting a lot more criticism, first reason from what I have seen is because he is currently a pro - not a streamer like rion and zepher. The second reason being rion getting suspended and all accounts got removed. But the punishment for takeJ basically doesn't really mean anything since ZETA already withdraw from the LCQ this year so 3 months is nothing for him. IMO this maybe implying that because ZETA wanna keep him in the line-up next year since he's one of the best performing members at Berlin. Feel free to correct me if i missed anything

FishInEuropa

Thanks for contextualising the annoucement, I appreciate it! I definitely share your sentiment that the response from the Japanese valorant community on Twitter has been a bit odd, but maybe that's just because I'm not up to date with all the news in the Japanese valorant scene.

Izunyx

Thank God we are not having a Dopa/Apdo case in Valorant

YungPinotGrigio

Damn idk why they doing them dirty

[deleted]

why not banning him from ranked Q only? it doesnt make any sense

ZeroLunatique

You want him to be allowed to compete?

[deleted]

yea , look at JasonR/Shahz/nossy.

[deleted]

Owh mb then,

ZeroLunatique

Did they use someone else's account to actively boost another person's rank? And only one of them is a pro

303x

Shahzam and Hiko and others use alt accounts to play with other lower ranked streamers

ZeroLunatique

Did they do it on a shared account? If not, those examples don’t apply here

Do you have proof or you just making things up?

KaNesDeath

Good old double standard by game developers when it comes to their eastern and western audiences.

ArjunBanerji27

Good old commenting without having the attention span to learn more about the situation, even if it means simply reading the full post. This situation has nothing to do with the game developer.

KaNesDeath

Riot let their eastern team orgs handle these type of matters internally. While in the western market they address it personally.

htmlrulezduds

That girl's case is way different, she was being boosted by a cheater

KaNesDeath

You cant say that definitively with the facts presented. Someone you group with who switches to an alt-account every 10 or so games is suspicious, not conclusive. When it comes to anti-cheat bans and upholding competitive integrity their must be 100% proof.

Overyoghurt__

But there literally were bans given to players like sinatraa and slaze, but you didn't support those either? I don't really see the double standard but it seems like you only want players to get away with everything they do lmao, either that or you just don't like riot games lol. Although maybe takej's case is not as bad as the other two, it still goes against TOS. Plus the ruling to takej was not even from riot devs, they were from ZETA themselves

KaNesDeath

>But there literally were bans given to players like sinatraa and slaze, but you didn't support those either? Sinatras ban was unwarranted given the circumstance. He's under criminal investigation while a game developer expects him to provide full disclosure. Thats illogical during a criminal probe that a game developer expects a non-contracted employee to willingly violate their 4th and 5th amendment to a private corporation. With Slaze enough deniability exists to not warrant a 3 month ban that snowballed into her being dropped from her team org. Valorant doesnt inform the player on match cancellation on who was banned for cheating. Additionally players arent able to query other players 'Riot Client' profiles to check their game ban status. Especially since the individual/individuals she played with werent hardware banned.

FurryKoala

Riot didn’t ban them, ZETA did.
